  5. You can usually get the tails in most tackle shops Davey
  6. This one lightened up a bit too Brian. Good to see you & your son enjoying each others company so much !!
  7. My mistake Christopher, I was thinking pike but my fingers typed bass. It's a terrible thing when the mind gets old(er)
  8. Probably the 3 best makes of musky nets are Frabil, Beckman and Stowmaster, but as far as I know Stowmaster is the only folding musky net, but anyone that uses them says their pretty good. As far as size goes, it's a personal choice but the bigger the better for the size of fish your gonna be getting. Just remember though, that if you fish alone, the bigger the net, the harder it is to use with one hand while you work the fish with the rod in the other hand.
  9. Well done on catching your 1st ever bass Christopher, and good luck on the up-coming tournament too.
  10. Different situations require different techniques
  11. She's a real cutie Rob
  12. WOW !!!! ...I'd definetly be looking for a different place to live. In all my years of owning a car, I can honestly say I have NEVER had a break-in. Just real lucky I spose
  13. You could put an old boot on a hook and a pike would grab it. Nothing fancy required to catch those critters.
  14. Yeah, but ain't he cute ??
  15. Maybe just the way the light's reflecting off the pikes eyes ?? Lotsa pictures I take of my pooch show his eyes as bright green or even yellow sometimes.
  16. Happy Canada Day to everyone !! No other place in this big wide world I'd rather be.
  17. That things a beast for sure Mike
  18. I spent alot of time talking to him about the war Bill and it's unbelievable the horror those guys went thru in the trenches. Stuff most of us couldn't even begin to imagine.
  19. My grandfather fought in the trenches of France during the war to end all wars and had a bomb explode right over his head one day. A bunch of his buds were killed and he ended up with a whack of shrapnel imbedded in his body. The doc's were able to remove all of it except one piece and till the day he died many many years later you could still see & feel the black lump of metal buried under the skin in his arm.
  20. Those V-Rods were excellent Marvin and it's good to hear your Dad is still getting lotsa use out of them. I had 5 of them matched up with Curado's & Castaic's but once I gave up bass fishing they were just gonna get dusty around my place and that's never a fitting end to quality gear.
  21. Hey Marvin, I don't see the V-Rod in that picture that I sold you years ago....it musta went in another tackle purge eh ?? That's a pretty impressive collection of fishing poles there my friend
  22. Because muskies are special
  23. It's a shame that so many musky posts go down the drain on this board but it's also the reason so many serious musky fishermen no longer post fishing reports here.....me for one. nancur373, just ignore the remarks of guys that want to ruin these posts and continue to learn from other guys who don't think their perfect. And when guys do complain about vertical holds, just ask them how they lift THEIR muskies outta the net if it's not a vertical hold until they can get 2 hands on it. Some of you guys are just plain friggen pathetic. Again nancur373, congrats on a nice looking fish and your new PB.
  24. A large net is much easier to use, specially if your fishing alone.
  25. Any chance that 10 amp fuse is the wrong size for your motor and was put in by mistake ?? The main fuse for my 150 Yamaha is 50 amp and the smallest for anywhere on my motor is 20 amp. My last motor was a 90 Merc and the main fuse for that was 30 amp. 10 amp just seems kinda small to me for the main fuse. But then again, I'm no mechanic
