  1. I haven't looked at the Member Map in a long time but when I went to look at it this morning all I got was a box saying this website needs a GOOGLE maps API key. What's that all about ??
  2. Happy Birthday Roy & all the best to ya !!
  3. If your gonna be right in downtown Peterboro maybe have a look at Little Lake on George St. Lots of parking in the area plus a few restaurants for when your finished fishing. There's a marina right there but I have no idea if they'll charge for launching the canoe but even so it wouldn't be much. Never fished Little Lake myself but it's a pretty spot and I've heard there's some good fish in there.
  4. At one time in Ontario, loooong before you were born, they were ALWAYS called pickeral and walleye was a term only used by Americans. Your right though Stoty, pickeral isn't the proper name for them but for 1000's of folks, ...mostly older and me included...pickeral is still the name of them and always will be.
  5. It's getting close Fred and let's make a point of getting out together again this year. The waters alot higher so we'll be able to get back into some of the better spots unlike 2 years ago. Sorry to the OP for the hijack
  6. I agree Rob and we all complained to the park owner about it and that was the reason the cat was no longer allowed back.
  7. Years ago a woman came to see friends in our trailer park and brought her pet cougar along for the weekend. They went out to visit somewhere and left the cat tied to a tree on the front lawn. My daughter was dozing on the beach getting a suntan and woke up when the cougar started to lick her face after pulling free from his leash The cat took off after that and was found later wandering thru backyards half way down the lake. The cat was banned from the park permanently after that.
  8. Interesting you say that Fred as a neighbor just told me wife recently that marigolds planted in a vegetable garden would keep bugs away.
  9. I just couldn't imagine being locked into payments for 15 years on such a small boat like that and paying double the price in interest. Just my thoughts, but why not just hold off for a couple years and save your money until you can pay cash for it and save a small fortune on interest. I couldn't even enjoy fishing from a boat knowing it would take 15 years just to pay for it, but that's just me.
  10. I've spent decades fishing after dark and have always done very well, and have never used glow in the dark type lures. Use baits that give off good vibrations and slow down your retrieve and you'll do just fine.
  11. Great trip Marty, looks like you've got some competition on your hands these days....but Dirt ??....where'd that one come from ?? Can't believe how much he's grown in the last couple years. I think that pic Rob posted was when "Dirt" grabbed the tackle box off the table thinking it was his prize....that was priceless
  12. I haven't used a spinning reel for several years now, but the 2 I've got are both 4000 series. I only ever used them for trolling for pickeral and they worked well for that. Maybe it's just me but I just always felt the larger reels were more comfortable to hold.
  13. Happy Birthday G-man, hope your having a great day !!
  14. What spincast said ^^^
  15. Nice big fish for sure.

    HEAT WAVE

It's summertime in Ontario boys, it's sposed to be hot. In another few months we'll be wishing for some warm weather
  17. Craig never said it was HIS group that was causing the mess, he was talking about a large group of people in general. Didn't seem to me to be that hard to understand
  18. I bought H2Optics quite a few years back and payed around $135 and their excellent glasses and to this day have no scratches on the lenses and are as good as the day I bought them. I also carry cheap glasses in the boat for anyone who needs them and there is no comparison to good glasses. I also have to wonder how some of you guys manage to break or lose soooo many things ??
  19. Their ALL worthy Mo, just some are MORE worthy than others
  20. I remember back when we we're kids every once in awhile we'd get a very rare green bottle outta the COKE vending machine and always considered that a bonus...for some unknown reason that long ago escaped me We always called them American bottles but I have no idea why. Seems to me we payed a whopping .07 cents for a COKE back then too.
  21. There ya go, now we're getting into some serious musky offerings Great work Chris
  22. Good times are guaranteed Roy
  23. We used to swim in the Rouge just south of hwy 2 back in the 50's and there was a wooden dam to make the river deeper. We also had a rope swing where we'd swing out over the water and drop in. I let go of the rope one day and dropped into 4 or 5 feet of water and a broken bottle went 1/2 way thru my foot and I've still got the scars from that day. Seem like I spent half my boyhood swimming in that old river. I realize this has nothing to do with this post and I apologize to the OP, but it brought back a bunch of fun old memories from a time when TV and computers didn't get in the way of kids having REAL fun
  24. And I imagine that trend will continue too....sadly.
  25. Amazing pictures Dave, their sharper than mine when my subject is standing still right in front of me
