  1. I like it Mike, very nice !!
  2. Yup, I definitely think it's too hot for a dog when the summer sun is beating down on it. When I can't stand on in my bare feet, I for sure wouldn't force my dog to be on it without some protection from the heat. But that's only my opinion.
  3. I once had a boat with a vinyl floor and while it's easy to keep clean I found it just too hot for my liking. I fish in my bare feet alot and just couldn't do it in that boat. Another consideration is if you take a dog in the boat with you, you'll need to put down a blanket for him. Other than that, their OK, but my preference is definitely with carpet..
  4. We have white cabinets in our kitchen with a white floor and went with black granite counter tops and it looks really outstanding. You get some choices on the style of edges you want cut into the granite Rob, and also different ends, so be sure to see all they have to offer.
  5. Thanks Jacques, that's a bit different than I normally do but it seems to work well. And your right Drew, it's not always necessary to fix things that ain't broke
  6. Yup, and it's been a long and fun trip ever since Rich !!
  7. Nothing outstanding about those fish, but the one on the right was the 1st musky I ever caught about 4 decades ago. Sadly in those days it was normal to kill the fish and have it mounted. It's the only one out of many though that I ever intentionally killed. Here's a picture of it when we got back to shore and the 2nd picture was when I got it back from the taxidermist. The musky in the middle was caught by accident by my wife about 20 years ago while she was looking for pickerel off the end of the dock for breakfast and it died before she could get the hook out. A friend of mine is a taxidermist so he mounted it for her. The bass was one that died when the hook tore the gills so My friend mounted it for practice many years ago.
  8. When your my age Brian, everything is old school
  9. Why, what's wrong with my boat ??
  10. I've got it working now too Brian, but I have to click the code a bunch of times before it hi-lites. Oh well, better than nothing I spose. And nice fish you got there too my friend.
  11. Seems like now if I click on the code 6 or 7 times I can get it to work. Not the way it's sposed to work, but maybe there's a glitch in their system.
  12. I've been finding the "new & improved" photobucket fairly easy to until today. Normally when posting a picture, I just hi-lite the IMG code under the picture, copy it, and then paste it where I want. Today though I can't even hi-lite the code, let alone copy it. Anyone else having the same issues ??
  13. We almost never followed up on any incident we were ever involved in either Drew, whether car accident or anything else, but every now and then we'd receive a letter of thanks which is always nice. The odd time too, if the person was local to the station, they'd even stop in to say thanks in person.
  14. There's lots more to life than fishing Steve and many folks, me included, think staring at a hole in the ice is about as exciting as 5 pin bowling.
  15. They sure don't get any prettier as they get bigger
  16. Welcome back RJ, it'd be good to see you around here on a regular basis. And yes, I'm still smilin
  17. Don't remember where I got it, but I've had one of those wrenches in my box for probably 30 years, use it all the time, and never knew it was called a starter wrench. Thanks for the lesson Old Man
  18. Fantastic job Shayne, be proud of yourself !!
  19. In all my years as a fireman in Toronto I went to many many accidents and there were nearly always people there before us trying to help. Sometimes folks knew what they were doing and were very helpful, but other times they knew nothing and would do more damage than anything. Unless it's absolutely neccesary, your better off not moving an injured person incase of spinal or neck injuries as you can do some very serious permanent damage. If your trained in 1st aid and come across an accident, you can stop, and if there's already folks there that know what their doing you can offer to help them and they'll probably say yes. If nobody seems sure what to do, you can let them know that your trained and would like to help. Usually, they'll let you take charge and you can even direct others on what needs to be done. Car crashes are nasty scenes and often have things that most people have never seen before. If you can stay calm and try and show that you know what your doing, it'll go a long ways in calming others down and with some help from bystanders, you can do alot to help the injured. I normally stop when others need help, and if I can offer any assistance, I do what I can until an ambulance arrives.

Thanks guys, and yeah, it's always nice having the critters around, infact there were 9 deer in the backyard about an hour ago. I could sit and watch them all day. That owl moved in about a week ago and spent several days in a tree at the back of the yard, but then he took off 2 days ago and I haven't seen him since. He was sitting in the tree and a flock of crows showed up and started really harassing him. They'd crowd around him on the same branch, squawking like crazy, and even started divebombing him trying to drive him away. I did some checking on GOOGLE and it seems owls attack crows at night, kill them and eat them. During the day the crows retaliate and try to drive him away from their area. Interesting to watch nature at work, but like Headhunter and his deer, I got used to sharing my yard with the owl and now that he's gone, I kinda miss the little guy
