Drifter the bottom line to me is that Microsoft should not be able to force feed a new OS on my pc without my consent. The fact that they are still doing it with impunity or even fear of repercussions just really bugs me and furthers the fact that there are ulterior motives afoot here. So I choose to protect myself. As for those privacy settings, it wouldn't surprise me if they were just window dressing. Cheers

Win10 is full of nasty programs that monitor and report all your activities back to microsoft. That way they can use and sell all that info they get. They have even integrated some of those programs into Win7 and 8 updates. For those of you who haven't been forced to upgrade yet go to grc.com and d/l a program called Never10. It does the required registry changes and will also offer to delete any win10 files that may be already hiding on your pc. I'm really starting to hate microsoft, the sneaky my mom hates me. They say you have 30 days to revert but that's more Bull. It happened to a bud over the weekend. He had manually made one of the registry changes but didn't do the other. Wakes up in the morning to find his OS changed without permission. Microsoft even changed his drive to a GPT partition which doesn't support Win7 so he was forced to remove his drive, install it on a friend's pc so he could retrieve his data and then had to format his drive back to an MBR partition so he could reinstall Win7. A 14" circumference works out to a 4 1/2" diameter by 12" long so I tried to picture that in front of me. Here's my guess on weight. Looks like 3 1/2 to 4 pound of ground. Probably at least 1 1/2 pounds of bacon wrap. That's nice bacon btw.The cheese is likely the heaviest part of the filling. hmmm... So I'm gonna say 6lb 9oz before cooking. Do I win a prize if I'm closest? Btw how did you find it compared to using beef? Also, have you ever tried it in the oven? Gotcha. Cool man. I was just referring to the littering part of it. I don't think that will ever change. Some people just don't get it, or don't care. Young or old it will always be. Of course we can only relate to what we individually see. Quick story from today to illustrate. I was at the Kilmarnock lock canal for Crappie yesterday from 5 till 8. When I left there was no one on my side and the guys on the other side were talking about leaving. It was clean along the canal after a day of folks fishing. So I'm back there today at 3:30. I thought it would be busy like the day before, but there was just two older lads there, and no one else showed up at all. Anyways, right away I notice 3 large timmy's on the grass beside the concrete. Hmmm, that wasn't there last night. So fishing is totally dead. I'm talking to the one guy and he tells me 3 young lads limited out that morning from 7 till 8. He had the pics to prove it, as the local lads had taken a shine to the old boy and sent him pics of the catch. You could see right where they were fishing, and it was marked by the 3 empty timmies left behind... I mean, how fkn hard is it to smash a a takeout coffee cup flat and take it with you for the 200 ft walk? All I'm saying is that it ain't all that age specific sometimes. Can't really agree with part of that Akrisoner. Go to most any back lake where the younger crowd goes to party and you'll see the piles of garbage left behind. I find that they don't tend to have as much respect for the land and waters as us older folk do. Cheers

Just get a small trolling plate mounted and all your issues are gone and you have full control right down to big hammer speeds in the low 1's. Simple and effective. Cheers

What it boils down to mostly is making registry changes but you should be somewhat aware of regedit to make the one or two changes. It's an easy google.That will disable the autoupgade. Not for regular users. Never10 does that so there is no chance of danger to registry. Plus it has other features if required. Both my pc and wifeys laptop with win7 had no extra files found. Cheers

I would save all my data and programs etc and reinstall your old system. Then use never10 to make sure it won't happen. Then again MS could again make registry changes through updates without us knowing. They sure seem insistent on everyone using Win10. Folks with vista and earlier are ok though. Cheers

Yea it's getting real bad now. Just heard of another report today of a fellow student's OS being automatically upgraded to Win10 without his authorization. Like I mentioned earlier about MS including whatever they want in their updates, now it can include tons (over 6Gb) of Win10 files just waiting to be installed. The more I hear about win10 the scarier it gets. This quote from a real good site..."Windows 10 has become controversial due to Microsoft's evolution of their Windows operating system platform into a service which, among other things, aggressively monitors and reports on its users activities." In other words you have no assumption of privacy anymore as far as Microsoft is concerned. For all I know there could even be keyloggers built in to the OS. Scary stuff folks for the likes of us with "pcs" but what about corporate usage?? So my strong advice is to NOT do the upgrade. They just want to fool everyone into believing that newer is better but it's a poison pill IMO. That's why they're pushing it so hard . And guess what? If you do the upgrade you can't go back without a clean install of the earlier OS. So save/find/d/l your old install disks. Make an image disc of your hard drive and save it as a backup that you can reinstall on a formatted drive. Here's my tip of the d/m/y hehe. Just found out from my instructor today about this neat little utility that will protect your privacy and even clean your system while preventing from win10 unwanted installation. Its called Never10. It doesn't install anything on your system at all, it just does it's registry changes etc., then you click the appropriate boxes after it's done the scan. Here's the link... https://www.grc.com/never10.htm Go to freeware/utilities/never10 and download. Use it and and you will feel cleansed and protected. Also excellent for command line use in an enterprise environment. This Steve Gibson guy is amazing from what I've seen so far. His Spinrite proggy can revive a hard disk to retrieve data that was thought lost. I hope this helps to warn folks about the way things are going now in this world of ours. Remember those old futuristic sci-fi flicks where big brother knew everything about everybody. Lol it's here now. Surveillance cameras are everywhere, most phones have gps and can be tracked, even new cars can be remotely controlled once vehicle systems are hacked into. I'm not paranoid but Ive been around for 60 years now and I'm still leery of any entity that wants to know everything about everyone. Just doesn't sit right with me ya know. As a rule, I always try and live by the "don't sweat the small stuff" motto. Keeps the grey hair down I figure. Less stress is best. Specially when I'm not in control and there's nothing I can do about it for now. I've been to both plenty of times and definitely prefer Kipawa. Stayed in the hub area at Alwaki Lodge the most. The last time at Temagami the OPP were trying to pay for their new boat and were nailing everyone including lodge boats for alcohol out of residence. In Quebec you are legal to have a pint in the boat and they don't bother anyone unless the driver was right hammered. Cheers

I d/l many movies and tv shows so if it wasn't for sports I would drop expressvu as well.
