  1. Consider steel studs, no moisture warp, no mould, put on top of sill gasket, bobs your uncle
  2. I was there last year in March...when doing homework on the trip I read the many horror stories about rip off rental car agencies, some stories must be true to see all the complaints on trip advisor and such...Any who I ended renting in San Jose from Vamos rent a car. There were plenty of positive reports on them and I was very satisfied that I didn't get ripped off. The vehicle was a Toyota Pravda, with a lot more Kms then you would see on a North American rent a car, but I also read that was a good thing. We didn't look so touristy. I also purchased some internet discount card for like 20$ and it saved like 15% off rental from this particular company. Like I said earlier, trip advisor had a ton of posts about this subject, warnings and good companies in their Costa Rica forums. Cheers...we loved our trip there and would go back in a heartbeat. M.M.
  3. Hey fellas, been a while since I have posted.....ice fisherman...you have received the green light that steel is a longer lasting product than shingles, everyone agrees. The ball is now back in your court...you have to do more homework and look at the available products, to decide which suit your home. This is the only way you will get accurate numbers. Companies will measure your roof and give you an accurate quote. There is a wide variety in products and the cost reflects the differences. IMO I wouldn't recommend the metal products that are covered with pebbles / asphalt. It can't stay on, and fade is a real possibility. I'm not trying to be gruff, but your question is too vague to get an accurate answer at this point. Some of the major players in the steel roof market are Vic West, Ideal steel products. You will see the wide range of products available from just two companies, let alone the hundreds of smaller manufacturers. Cheers M.M.
  4. I tried two locations in london and both managers shut it down. Said the UPC didn't match. A little ticked
  5. Wow...are u ever ugly. Just fish pics please. Nice report. Matt
  6. Watched nylander last night in the rookie tournament. The boy has skill. Best player on the ice for sure.
  7. It's got water. Plan on enjoying the day of company with your friend. If your wanting more serious fishing..... LSC is about 1.25 hours away.
  8. Sorry to hear of the death of your father. Make him proud.
  9. spent 4 days on the st clair river. 2 were Sat. and Sunday, those type of boats were very common as well as 40'-60' yachts. Those yachts sure throw a wake. The 600' freighters just shove the water not much of a wave at all. There was a story going around about one of those spped boats lost control and jumped a wake and landed ontop of the fly bridge of another boat killing 2 on the non-speed boat. Like grandpa always said "speed kills"
  10. Do you have a small shed near by? Voles do tunnel and make foraging paths but seem to call a special place home. If you can find that place you can help make them move on. under sheds, under compost heap, so on and so on. Pretend your a vole and look for a reasonable spot to live. Then do whatever means are necassary to make them move on. or in short befriend a dude that works for Orkin or the such.
  11. Thanks. May be an option as well. Was thinking I would haul the little 14'er up as well. That's why I was thinking an inland lake.
  12. Never been steelheading before. Does this mean a whole lot of new gear? This is a unexpected trip and will be trying to do it as cost effective as posssible.
  13. Need to go up to the Sault first week of October to visit some people for 4-5 days. Was wondering what camps with decent fishing would be pretty close to the city. I have a small boat I could take. Was hoping to stay within 1 hours radius of the town. we would be a family of 4 with a small dog that must come also. I do not know the area at all as i have never been there. suggestions are appreciated. Thanks Gang..Matt
  14. Please take a few pictures for us. I would like to see what your catching over there. Have a great time.
  15. Maybe try, pumping it up to say 15 lbs air and submerge again. with the low running tire pressure of 5lbs or so it may be hard to detect without adding a bunch more air/with safety in mind.
  16. That's an adventure!!! For sure!!! Fires suck!!! For sewer!!!
  17. I see lebaron sells a rapala suit that isn't a bad price. It's new for this fall and in the fall catalogue.
  18. Not that this will help you much, but in reply to some suggestions that have been made. I have a small personal experience I can tell. Same boat....two different motors. I have a 14' Starcraft with a factory floor, 4 bench seats in the stern with a full width bench in the front. Live well under one the seats. I believe without digging back into google the boats dry weight is 585 lbs it's a 2007. I first had a 1998 15hp 2 stroke yamaha. With my family (3kids) you would punch it full throttle and in about 45 seconds would achieve full plane with the yamaha working as hard as she can to get there. It would go 18-21 mph at wot. If you let off slightly it would loose plane. It actually works pretty darned good really . To the point that I kept it when I upgraded. My problem with the 15 was I could not get plane with anything past the 5 people or 435 lbs in the boat. Sometimes it would not even get on plane . But in general it usually did. It's a good motor in my opinion. So I upgraded to a brand new merc sea pro 25 h.p. With the same same people the boat planes at about 3/4 throttle and once on plane I can back off to about 5/8 throttle. At wot we get between 25 - 28 mph. But add much more weight than that and she won't plane. I did the simple carb mod and advanced the timing to make it a 30h.p. and nothing really changed in my opinion. With both motors I played with trim, and lifted the motor off the transom more, nothing seemed to me to make a difference for me. I am now considering a hydrofoil for the 25 to see if that changes much under my big loads. I have not changed a prop before so I cannot comment what differences it makes. But do believe it would make a rpm change which should help. So in short my experience has been. Trim and height of motor have not shown any help. Horsepower definetly has. A prop change should. And a hydrofoil I will report shortly on its effects.
  19. I appreciate the suggestions so far. All of the places mentioned look appealing. This year we were little disappointed when we could hear the dumptrucks running the roads all day. Cheers Matt
  20. Do you have kids? You mentioned the wife wanting to watch some stuff. My experience was not pleasant with Netflix and kids. Slapped a bunch of times by rogers for over data usage, kids sitting infront of t.v. for hours, arguing over what movie to watch....so on and so on .Its gone now and they don't bother asking for it back. And I Like that. Im not much of a t.v. guy so I do not know what I may have been missing myself except more data usage. I do like sons of anarchry and the news. Cheers Matt
  21. We are looking to keep exploring on next years trips in the near north. We would like to rent cabins next year on two separate occasions. The first trip is a 3 couples trips with friends (we are approaching 40 and our friends are in their early 50's) Like to keep the drive to a maximum 1 hour north of Sudbury on both trips. We have 2 boats for the couples trip. mine a 14' with a 25 and the other is a 18' with 90 h.p. Like to have access to decent type of fishing at the doorstep. Like to be scenic Like to have running water and washrooms in cabin if possible Like to go for the odd drive and explore the area (crop tour) Like a relaxed atmosphere, where enjoying a campfire is not frowned upon if there is no ban. Like not having to bring everything. Like places that are on the smaller side. Like to rent 3 cottages if applicable Like to stay on a approx. $700-900 budget (cabin only..we cook) for a week in late july early august. The family trip (wife, kids 6,11, 17) and pooch if possible, is essentially the same requirements Like some things to entertain the kids a bit. Like to fish a little harder on this trip Kids like pike fishing but any species is good Like to have a beach area if possible Generally in August due to some of the sports being over Budget is basically the same for 1 week accomodations only We do tent glamping for a week every year also, and also do a complete off grid back pack only canoe adventure yearly as well. This is why I would like cabin suggestions for these 2 weeks. I appreciate your suggestions and experience Matt

  23. Maybe check your prop pitch for him. It is stamped right on the prop blades generally.
