NF NASCAR online? Need a live feed for todays race
mcdougy replied to Handlebarz's topic in General Discussion
tsn has it live on the computer also. -
i'm thinking the cabinet tear out could be the most challenging part! Given there is no existing d.w. they may be older plywood and faceframe that can be built very well and hard to get apart!! which may be more than alot of plumbers'electrician will want to do for a reasonable cost.

Did the place you bought it from offer any kind of service?

NF: Deer Shed Hunting - How To and Adventure Videos
mcdougy replied to JustinHoffman's topic in General Discussion
Exactly what I mean, those bad apples cause me to second guess granting permission even to the good guys like yourself. And I don't like that because I do like to share and help people enjoy nature. In London there is a very limited amount of crown forest, 90% would be privately owned. It's absolutely unbeleivable the stories I get when you find someone on your property. Cheers Matt -
NF: Deer Shed Hunting - How To and Adventure Videos
mcdougy replied to JustinHoffman's topic in General Discussion
Hey Justin, great video, It's nice that you are trying to inform and encourage people to try different things! Something that I feel you should mention in your videos, since you are appealing to the masses is the importance of LANDOWNER PERMISSION. Walkling into any bush looking for sheds would be a real bad idea for many reasons. As a landowner and hunter I generally would not have any problem with someone ASKING to go shed hunting, but nothing can get my blood boiling faster than catching trespassers. You would be surprised possibly at how many people do not have the common sense to think about permission beacause it is just a bush or field or whatever,So my question to these people is: what is the difference between them going into my bush and me walking into there unlocked house and sitting down to watch a little tv? As you can tell this is a sensitive subject for me . Don't get me wrong i do like your encouragement but please, point out the permission needed side of things, because in the end, it will help all people who are looking to access private property. -
If it is fixed and you have a water tower, I would say also spend the extra few bucks on the rinnai. They work really nice. I have never tried it this time of year. With super cold water.

Is this for at a camp? Or going camping? (fixed or portable use in mind)

In general you will be hard pressed to gain in the weight department also. A 9.9 four stroke engine you can see a 20lb difference, heavier than a 2stroke always. Fuel consumption and emissions are the main positives for a 4stroke.IMO Matt -
Thanks, Its going to be difficult, cause I liked my smokes, But I will do it for the family and most of all my health. Hooks and minnows work awesome, but my little boys love looking at lures and such. i do like using lures to troll with myself.

I have installed many many many steel roofs in my career. Not once in a situation like yours have we ever taken the old shingles off. The only instance you would take them off is: if there is way too many layers on to start, meaning that the roof is caveing in to start. Generally we just use 1x4 rough strap nailed to rafter. metal overtop. As far as cost I would estimate approx. 1/3 more initial cost vs. shingles, however you have a product that should last 100 years or more if you keep the paint to it. Some valid points on here about fast sliding snow at doorways and stuff . there are some simple products to remedy that. I think where some of the different opinions are coming from are caused by what style of metal roof. For a cottage application I assume you are talking about a product like VicWest profile similar to Supervic(sheets). Where as some people are referring to the very architectaul looking metal (shingle look). I personally stay away from that style because of business reasons.(getting product 12 years from now and they are out of business) . A recent change in metal is a trend towards lighter guage (29) and it is high tensile. Again IMO I am still using the old standard 28 guage. If someone asked me to put steel on a simple roofline like the one you are explaing (cottage) I would say ok. If someone has a steep roof with alot of valleys I would say no way. Water runs super fast on metal and sealing at valleys can be a challenge that i stay away from personally. Any other advice I can give, I will. Matt

Nice Job, Thats some productive fishing!!! Looks like your having lots of fun!!

IMO carpet and vinyl would pretty much be the same install process. the vinyl would have the possibilty to wrinkle in the install but with some care and a roller you can do it, i bet no problem at all. I am assuming you are talking a glue down vinyl that is typically used in a boat (something with a bit of texture) Most house vinyl would probablly be danger slippery when wet?

Thats the plan!!! Wear the blades right off this prop, with my boys of course. Matt

I am in the process of quitting smoking!!! I have been 3.5 weeks without any, and have 7 weeks left on the champix. Here is my plan after that: Since the tasty export gold's were going down a pack a day that was basically $10 a day. I plan on taking a trip to the tackle shops once a day on the way home from work and buy me a 10$ lure every day for the first month at least. I think its a great plan to get the boys boxes filled up with dads lures. So im going to ask for opinions/suggestions on some must haves. The first targets are sm bass walleyes and pike. Thats 10 lures for each species at least. Help me out folks. Matt

Was Wondering what recomendations people would make for comfortable boat seats that may last awhile and not stink, rot all that sort of thing. Also wondering what price point I would be in? As the london boat show is this weekend and was thinking of picking up something up if it is a fair deal. CHEERS Matt

Hi Jer, In my recently posted introduction I mentioned that I was a contractor from the london area. I would be able to give a hand via advice, but the logistics don't make any sense. I could help "walk" you through something like that if you were interested in attempting it on your own? As far as finding a contractor, IMO your best bet is to try and find someone local who has done work for someone you know. Make sure you ask them if they were happy and trusted them. You may also consider that you may have to wait for someone that has a good reputation, I am usually nervous of the people that can "start next week" that generally should never happen if they are reputable. You would also be beneficial that if you have your tile, tub, flooring, paint colours picked before you start ripping out. Some things may need ordering. Again IMO time and material for a project like yours is the farest for everyone. No one wins or looses. Matt You may be wondering what is this guy doing at home in the middle of the day and posting later at nite? But I am home because I had a *%^%^&%^$ vasectomy done on friday. It was the worst 20 minutes of my life I think. Still hobbleing around. Its been horrible!!!!!

I believe it is important to introduce myself and say hello to everyone!! I am a country boy living in london ontario with a wife and 3 kids(16 f, 10 m, 5 m). I am a carpenter by trade and selfemployed for the last 18yrs as a smallcontractor.I have always been a outdoor person. I like to hunt deer and moose, atv, sled, white water canoe, camp, and obviously have a interest to fish. Most fishinghappens in a 5acre family owned pond with bass and perch. Last fall I decided that the 2 boys and wife were showing enough interest and really enjoying the fishing enough to buy a small boat. i had purchased a 15 2stroke yamaha earlier in the summer because of a few hunt camp mishaps of the boys" rolling the dice" on old unreliable junk motors they find for $200 and leave you strandedfor hours on shore. I cannot and will not "roll" like that. so kijji found me this 1999 15h.p. that was at least 20yrs newer than anything they were willing to supply. (whew...glad I got that off my chest)So anyways, i bought of kijji again, a 2007 14ft starcaft with a sweet layout and floor and live well. The size of boat and set-up i had always dreamed of owning one day. I plan on learning alot about fishing here, because I truly only know the basics. (pole, bait, and laughter). I appreciate all info provided from most people and have a good sense of humour. I'm not sure how I can contribute for others but will offer my opinion on something that I believe to be accurate. Thanks and CHEERS Matt
