What Hail Maria? Measure the floor hump to the the bottom of the door frame . Man, if it's too tight take air out of the tires, or buy a trailer with thinner tires. I got it, take a jackhammer to the hump. I'm going to start to use all CAPS. Is this Brian or Albert breaking my corlies? edit: forget the specs measure the boat height yourself. If the "specs" are not 100% you may rip off the top. Now I'm using bold and italics. Bad day today, sorry. Let me guess you are an engineer or IT guy.

Heat the bolt/nut then give it a good douse of ice cold water. As soon as the thing is cool take a wrench with a 2' pipe extension to it, lefty loosy. If it breaks off tap it. If it breaks you know that no matter how much lube you gave her it would never work loose anyway. At $1000.00 a minute downtime I never had the luxury of waiting for penetrating fluid to work. Haul a torch down to the dock. Nothing but cast steel beats a torch.

The beam is 6'11" or the trailer is 6'11". If you have an inch to spare and a grade you are going to bang e fenders more than a few times. Better the fenders than the boat. Measure from the "hump" to the top of the door. You can always let air out of your tires to clear the top of the door. We have had to do exactly that. You must have a very deep garage. I am going to agree with the other guys, if a standard tract built home the boat won't fit. Measure it man!!!

CHML radio said today it will be $140.00 this summer. Why is my question? I personally believe the oil companies will just keep raising their prices to maintain profitability until Hybrids and all electrics are the norm. Then Hydro will keep skyrocketing because they have you by the knuts as there will be no option but to use them to charge your vehicle. Then gas companies will have your knuts if you don't have a electric vehicle and need gas. Catch 22. The crazy thing is we will pay 2 bucks a liter no mater what because we need our big V8 Hemi 4X4's just in case it snows or to tow our toys. I know I need mine, or so I think I do. When I sell the boat I'm buying a Vespa to tow my Ultra Lite rod and reel. The circle of life.

LittleWorm, do you catch and release the Bullhead or do you keep a few to eat? I never ate a Bullhead until 10 years ago, they are good out of cold water. I won't eat anything with Mud or Snake in it's name. A bit too early for where we get them. Looking for +8 to 10C air day temps.

All great responses. I always have more feel with a spinning combo. Rather than change the tool because of line twist solve the problem, like adding a small swivel. I use chain swivels myself. I do not like terminal tackle but must be used at times and I have found that chain swivels are the least intrusive of all.

Measure the trailer, then measure your garage door. It doesn't matter how wide or high the inside of the garage is it is the size of the door you need to get the boat into. Double wide means nothing to me. You mean a 2 car door without a post or 2 single doors? I'm going to say right now a 19' boat trailer will be too long to fit into a standard garage depth. But measure it man. This ain't rocket science. I don't know of any dealer in the World that will bring you a spanking new or old boat to see if it fits in your garage unless you already paid for it and paid for delivery. Why don't you ask the dealer Ben? Is this a past it's date April Fools joke? I'm gullible.

Looking for new graph...how important is side imaging
Old Ironmaker replied to bigcreekdad's topic in General Discussion
Shallow here is 40 feet. -
Gander Mountain is off the 290 in Tonawanda NY. You take I-190 east to the 290 aka Colvin Blvd. exit. Not much out of your way, maybe 20 minutes from the Peace Bridge. Great selection and they may have sales on. Do the math before you pull out your Visa Card. Some items may be the same price or actually more than here.

I am amazed at some of the fishing machines decked out. 2 guys came out to our little community fundraiser for a local volunteer Firefighters family that died in a kitchen fire in his own home. A Walleye tourney and won it. That Walleye boat had to be well over 100 Grand. If there was technology available on the biggest screens available they had it. I counted 4, plus the Talon anchors, power everything, a loaded 12 rod tower etc. etc. Not fair I say, just not fair. The grand prize was $500.00, and ask me if they donated any back to the Firefighters kids like the winner usually does? Are you kidding? No one knew these guys, not a soul. I'm off topic of course sorry guys. It just irks me. -
Congrats dutch. Was it really a happy day? You know what they say about the 2 happiest days in a boat owners life. It will be a sad one for this guy I tell ya'. What are you going to do with all that $$ you save on owning a boat? Yaks are good for 2 things, fuel and health. Health as long you stay on it not under it. JAJ.

Looking for new graph...how important is side imaging

Thanks Ohio, I'll be sticking with what I have for the price difference. I only was on a boat that had it once here on Erie and past 30 feet I couldn't see much, again I am a rookie at it. Same as the Capt. new to him too. Once we get past 5 mile reef at the east corner of the Long Point Elbow the bottom is flat, flat as the Salt Flats on all sides. If there is a bump on the bottom at 80 feet most likely a body with Woodbridge loafers. -
I did hear on CBC this afternoon that the driver of the truck has had to see a professional already to deal with what happened. That guy's life has changed forever as well. I can't imagine if it was me behind the wheel. I hope we don't try the guy through the court of popular opinion until all the facts come out and if need be he gets his day in court. It has already started though. I also heard on the same report 2 million has been raised all across the country for the victims, the survivors and their families already. They are holding a Vigil tomorrow that will be telecast across Canada, I hope that may spur on some of us to donate what little we can.

It isn't necessary for the fishing we do here for deep suspended Walleye. However I can see me getting back to Bass fishing in shallow water sometime in the future, and unless the unit with side imaging is much more than standard down imaging I would go with it. I have a question for all. What is the difference in price? -
We went that heavy because everything we marked were sitting right on bottom and I couldn't bounce a jig without going heavier. he fish we did get hit the floating jig heads set 6 to 8 inches above bottom. Used barrel sinkers. The same set up we use for Channel Cats on The Grand.

2019-2020 Hockey Thread
Old Ironmaker replied to DRIFTER_016's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
This may be the first Stanley Cup finals that will be played during Hockey season if this ridiculous weather continues. -
I prefer a trolling plate over drift socks. I found drift socks were harder to control in choppy waters. The best solution is a small kicker, good to have back up power too just in case. I bought a kicker even though the 115 trolled just fine.
-
I finally got there last early May. Controlling the drift was what I found as the challenge due to the stronger than I thought current and wind. We had a 55lb thrust on the boat and it wasn't enough, on full power all day. I was up for a second day but the weather was wet and cold. We sure didn't hammer them but no one else was either. We used more than an oz. to get the bait down then I switched to a Lindy type rig with at least 1 3/4 to 2 oz. with Plastic and live shiners. Good luck to you Sir. Dress warm.

Are Polarized Fishing Glasses worth it
Old Ironmaker replied to LittleWorm's topic in General Discussion
I had a pair of Tommy Bahamas that were dark reading glasses too. Around 300 bucks. I was afraid to take them out of the house. I can't find them but the dozen or more pair of cheap sunglasses are all accounted for, should be a song. They may be on the boat, I doubt it. I am becoming my mother ad father. 5 layers of plastic on the good furniture and blankets, never saw it until we moved them. -
I've had my head buried in drawings today and only heard about it during the Masters then switched to CBC. Tragic. These were only kids. A small community that is never going to get over losing the most precious thing we cherish, children. It sends a shot to my guts. Prayers to the injured and the families as well as the community. You never know. Sheldon Kennedy is on CBC right now, he survived a similar bus crash with his team in Swift Current Sask. where they lost 4 in 86'.

Simon it was obvious to all here that the 6 or so bikini clad young ladies that were sunbathing on the beach and swim raft in the lake were being filmed. If I was 40 years younger I might be the one doing the filming. To tell the truth I don't think they minded being filmed, I didn't see anyone run for cover. Besides all that think of all the Chopper Pilots out of work because of them. When I see a program on Canadian TV that is more than likely filmed with a drone I wonder why they aren't being charged under the current legislation, maybe they are, I doubt it however.

careful when you open your doors today
Old Ironmaker replied to huzzsaba's topic in General Discussion
Dave, Winona has a Costco? When I was a kid Winona didn't have a corner store. We picked Cherries at my buddy Lenny's Uncle and Aunts farm, ate more than we came back with. There was a car lot though tucked against the bottom of the Mountain. Dad bought the 59 Chevy wagon there on Hwy 8. The last time I drove by 15 years ago that garage was still there. -
Sorry Dan. To answer your question, pg 10 of the Ontario Fishing Regs. Maximum number of baitfish per person caught or purchased is 120. So you are well within your limits at 60 each. PDF download of regs is readily available from the Ministry to all at Ontario Fishing Regulations.

That would depend on what zone of the 20 that exist it is in Dan. The 1st think you need to know if "live baitfish" originates from the zone you are fishing. That's a lot of minnows for a bait tank, if I picture what a bait tank is to me. When we had hundreds of minnows for the week etc. we had a bait cage in the water to keep them fed, alive and frisky. I believe if you use a cage in the water it has to be I.D'd. Easy to build with window screen with a fold down frame to store and assemble at the lake. Getting them there alive is another matter unless locally supplied. 30 years ago ours was built from broken Hockey sticks and window screen stapled to them that screwed together with a cordless. It lasted for years, I think my cousin in NY still uses it.
