I tried to LIKE you, the computer won't let me. It must have a sincerity filter. I think I get the PISS OFF, sort of. You have mail. OK worked, you are liked by me.

Ok got it. I can't initiate one. When I select message nothing happens. If someone sends 1 I can reply, otherwise no go.

No PM.

Been once in the spring when a pal was transferred there for a few years. I wanted to fish, no way. They buy Deet by the drum full. They warn you stay in while they spray the city for bugs by air. Had to run from the car to the Hotel to not get eaten alive. 7 weeks? You couldn't pay me enough, good luck.

Lost it or had it stolen? Either way it sucks. It's a sad time that you can't leave anything unattended for a minute without it walking off. Buddy went into the beer store for 5 minutes and came out to find his golf clubs in the box of the truck walked off, in broad daylight with people around.

Blue, looks good. I presume the heart is a "Like" button? But now I can't send a PM, again. I finally was able to make my browser Google Chrome if that makes any difference. Thanks, Johnny D.

Did one once at the Bakery and picked it up. One of the guests was a Surgeon and who best to carve it. By the time he finished there wasn't a morsel of fat or skin on the table. We rescued the good parts and put it out it on the table. Fired him from carving the Porcetta, or anything from there on in. The Gen Xers in the Family won't touch anything like it. Not good for you, Grass and Kelp in a glass is though. Good more for me.

Waterspout becomes Tornado in Selkirk On.
Old Ironmaker replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Sorry Ohio, levels are as high as they were last year. Highest I have seen in 23 years here. Boat slips underwater. Zero beach, a few years ago we had Volley ball nets and Horse Shoe pit. EF-2 a few klics away and I felt nothing here and am thankful. Windy yes but not Tornado windy. Anyone want good Maple, Ash and Oak firewood? neighbours are happy if you take it all away. -
NF - Travel Trailer or Toy Hauler (Stolen trailer)
Old Ironmaker replied to atvaholic's topic in General Discussion
I'm surprised the Insurance provider is talking replacement so soon after the theft. They usually hold their coin in their pockets as long as possible. Tell them to rent you a trailer for the trip. What if it was a car or truck? RV's I don't know but I'd ask for sure. -
Looks great Albert. That sure brings back good memories. Happy Fathers Day to all our OFC Dads.

Another Weekend at Bernie’s (June 2018 edition)
Old Ironmaker replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Them thar are some nice healthy lookin' Piks, and nice pics too. You guys have an assembly line going. I have to tell you though on our trips on a wind or rain out days the last thing we would be doing is working. No paint on the table, more like paint thinner such as Jamaica 151 Rum. You guys are party animals, did you ever see the movie? -
Great Grandparents and Grand Parents emigrated to the USA in the 1890's on Mom's side, Dads parents came to Hamilton in the mid 20's. Dad was actually born here in 27' and went to Italy in 1930, long story, but a good one, stuff movies are made about. Organized crime, murder, intrigue, suspense just no sex or Rock N Rolla. Anyway my southern relatives got their red necks from bending over in the fields and getting sun burn on the back of their necks, or bending over for some other reason, use your imaginations. These are not stupid people, stupidity is a DNA thing passed on down in the gene pool, they or shall I say some are intelligent individuals that do stupid things. Just plain ignorant and know nothing of the counties or towns in the same counties where they live. Some are medical Doctors and successful professionals such as a 1st cousin that is (or is it whom is?) a Lawyer in Lawrenceville GA. Their politics and religion of which I will not comment on other to say they are not only as far right of centre one can be they are always right as in correct and you are just dead wrong, opinions don't cut it down there, I'm just wrong. All wearing MAGA hats in their Christmas e-card photo, including the Grand Kids. It sure makes for entertaining Family Reunions. So entertaining I haven't gone in 10 years, why bother? Plus I think I'm barred.

And you didn't stop to help me with the reno, nice guy. Actually I booked off yesterday and went to the boys Marine on RR3 for a Walleye fry up, and steak on the Q. Little Buddy had to clean out a freezer at the farm, lost power until early Friday AM. My win. A heads up, Rainham Drill Rig Museums Perch fry tonight on Kohler Rd. That's all I know. Yes Tom, like I said I didn't even know it that bad of a storm until I got to Marylynn's place 5 doors down. Her yard is still covered in firewood. A few hundred meters from there a 70 foot willow is laying in a field. -
HH, you can be funny. That's a good one. You should contract it out though, those Deer Flies Feel Pain too groups will have you charged. And those Tennis Racket electric zappers sting a bit but Do not touch them with your tongue, don't ask me either. I never thought about the pets licking off the Deet. That can't be good.

There is some great music being put out by some young people today not just in the US but here too. That new show on CTV I think last winter showcasing young Canuck talent was refreshing. I can't say it has always been like that. The 90's and into the new millennium was a drought decade and longer here for my tastes. I'm in a small roadhouse on The Tamiami Trail in Fla last winter having a beer. There is a good 3 piece R&B/Blues group playing to 20 people eating Chicken Wings. A kid comes out of the kitchen and takes off his apron and slings a guitar over his shoulder. He played along then did a guitar solo that would make Jack White, Edge and Jimmy Page nod their heads in approval. I expected the little room to catch fire. He calmly put down the thing and went back into the kitchen to cook more wings.

Grass seed and re-seeding/ patching lawns question, nf
Old Ironmaker replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Glad to help Chris. PM me and if I'm going to Simcoe maybe I can drop it off. -
Pump you said: Thanks. I'm actually using a flurocarbon leader in these vids and it doesn't look invisible at all. As for length of the vids, it's still work in progress I have been using flouro leaders and or line here on Gin clear Lake Erie since it came out. 1 small nic in the flouro and it is no longer invisible. Tie a few leaders of flouro and wrap them around a piece of round foam. They sell things that will hold pre made leaders. After a few strikes, especially Pike or Walleye, check the line with your fingers and if you have a nic change it. Even if it looks clear just under the surface it may not be underwater. Keep them coming, and yes I also just fast forward if too long for me. I was wondering if umbrella rigs are legal here in Ontario. I will read what Ohio's link says about it. Read it, pretty clear 4 individual hooks only. I would have thought 6, because I can have 2 trebles on a single lure and that's 6 hooks really. I'm glad I read this, I was going to use all 5 but will have to take off 1 hook to be legal, thanks Ohio.

HH many Dad's, good Dad's, and I know a few personally, that are on the road to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads 200 days, or more a year because that's what they do. Some have chosen to not travel to be at home more. Take any professional athlete, it's what they do. I wouldn't know if any child would say they would be better off without their Dad's or Mom's, (Mom's travel for living too) in their lives, for the rest of their lives. Our niece is a young Mom, she is an actor, singer and dancer. She has to go where the work is. She is currently away out west for a stage musical. She is a great Mother, it's just different than most of us that did or do the 9 to 5. Working shifts is about the same, you see co workers much more than you see your families. I worked about 20 Christmas and New Years in a row, not much different than being away for weeks at a time. When we were kids we didn't see Dad for a week while on afternoons or night shift.

Grass seed and re-seeding/ patching lawns question, nf
Old Ironmaker replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
I stopped at our Golf club today for lunch and practice putting. My back is tight from freeking putting, putting!!!! The point is that the Grass Boss gave me a grocery bag of seed. I don't know where you are Chris but you can have it. I asked what the combo is and John told me it would be like KFC giving out the secret chicken recipe. It's a mix of Fescue, Kentucky Blue Hybrid for our climates and a Bentgrass seed. The % and the exact seed DNA is the secret. Seeds have a Diribonucleic Acid? I remember grade 10 Biology in 70' but can't remember what I had for lunch today. -
That is actually quite a fair price, no I should say great price considering a 5 inch Bird combo is going for around 500 bucks then you have to buy a card for it at another 100 or more depending on what maps you need. It would be tough for me to say no if a deal like that came up for me. All I would need to do is remove 1/2 of the new floor that was laid a few weeks back and return it to get the cash for the Garmins. You see another deal like that Dave and you have to let me know. Even if I no longer have the Bassassin I would need a new boat to justify the cost of the 2 units. It's kind of like my wife designing a new kitchen remodel based on the new faucet style.

Waterspout becomes Tornado in Selkirk On.
Old Ironmaker replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Like I said it was knarly here but nothing out of the ordinary. A kilometer away a Tornado touches down. People are coming from all around offering to clean up yards if they can keep the firewood.
