Life is fragile. The Grim Reaper doesn't recognize the wealthy from the poor.

Anderson Cooper is speaking about him right now on CNN. Interesting.

Man Kayak fishing has come a long way since we would go out at the cottage in Uncle Lloyds home made Kayaks with one lure, the one on the rod and a small trout net. Fantastic, I even I think I can still get in and out of one, with an electric I would only need back up paddles. That I would love to try.

RIP Phife Dawg - the unofficial, official hip hop thread
Old Ironmaker replied to AKRISONER's topic in General Discussion
Talk about out of the loop. 218 threads on Hip Hop. The only hip hopsters I can name is Run DMC and Manitoubass2. Oops I forgot the Sugarland Gang I think they were called and Blondie of course. I am old, and am happy to still listen to Dean Martin and Tommy Jones and most everything up to when Hip Hop came out. A few years, maybe 10 I realized I was out of the loop so big time that I didn't recognize one name up for a Grammy, not a single one. I didn't recognize some categories for Lord sakes.- 346 replies

You got that Davey. We get luckier every birthday. I am blessed enough that 24 of us which is the brothers. sis in laws, ex sis in laws grand kids and great grand kids will be celebrating my Dad's 89th birthday, Mom will be 85 next month. The guy takes 1 aspirin a day and maybe a Tylenol 3 if he walked in the mall too much and is sore. He walks for an hour every other day at Jackson Square a block from their retirement residence. We are blessed. For his 80th birthday I bought him a new Gel seat for his mountain bike!!!!! I can't ride a bike at 61. Rest in peace the entertainer formerly known as Prince.

TMZ has confirmed it but all the authorities will say is someone at that address in Minneapolis has died but won't confirm it is the performer previously known as Prince. That was what they were reporting an hour ago. A strange guy with amazing talent, 57 years old I think they said and looks like 30 something. Let's hope TMZ is wrong, they hardly ever are though. The former WWF female wrestler known as Chyna from Ontario, St. Kitts area I thinkshe said, was found dead in California yesterday of a suspected drug O.D. She worked out years ago at Champions in Hamilton when I was there and she was a beast, 225 bench for reps, leg pressed 5 plates. Roids oozing from her. Sad.

Canadian tire sale for today only 04/21/2016
Old Ironmaker replied to huzzsaba's topic in General Discussion
Oh great I just spent 200 beans Monday there. I should take it all back and buy it again. -
Yes of course Geoff, short bites. Duh. A stinger is a must on Nippising for Pics and when you are loosing fish regularly anywhere. A small box of stingers is always a good idea, usually I use a light small treble that won't take much of the lure's action away.

When an investigator gets chatty and friendly they are still investigating. It's an investigation method to get the person you are questioning to let their guard down. It's done all the time. They are not your buddy. -
I'll give you $505.00. Since that thing is going to sip fuel use Shell V Power as Wormdunker suggested.

You guys here have better info than the so called Talking Head experts on TSN. Between this thread and Blue Jays in 30 I won't need to watch a game until the home stretch, the playoffs then the World Series. 'Lets go, Blue Jays,,,,lets,,, play,,ball!!'

Ran into a good CO yesterday

I think I may have told this story here before. A pal went to Christies Cons. Area to fish the ponds. He parked in a disabled spot and took his placard with him to prove he could fish without a license. He left a note on his dash saying " gone fishing". A by-law guy walked up to him as he was the only person there and asked " do you want a ticket for no licence to fish here or one for illegal parking in a disabled parking space?" He explained the obvious and said he would see him in court, he got the illegal parking ticket. I went to court with him because English is his 3rd language. The Judge went up this guys butt and back for what seemed like forever. He said it's "little" people like him that waste the courts time and attribute to the court back logs. I actually started to feel bad for the guy as he had his head bowed and actually started to cry real tears before the Judge backed off. The Judge said he didn't know he had the authority to issue a fine for a fishing violation. The Crown didn't know either. My buddy pointed out to the court the Disabled placard clearly states on the back "Not to be copied in any way" The Judge told him to make a copy and if he is charged to call him as the Judge actually gave him his office number. The Judge demanded the name of this rent a cops supervisor. He blasted the Crown too for not doing their homework. I wish I could remember the Judges name, he was my ex's Lawyer 28 years ago. This was around 10 years back. A great way to spend a few hours in court. -

You haven't dealt with anyone until you have dealt with a MOE inspector. 90% of them were early retirement RCMP brass. I remember my first encounter when I asked the name of one of them he answered " you will call me Sir or Officer". A wipe. Not you "may" you "will!!". OK that's a great way to get bees, what jack apples. They were all the same too, each and every one. They got yes or no answers and a lot of "I don't recall" from anyone of us. I hope it's changed by now. I know it's wrong but guys started turning a blind eye if there was a spill because they knew they might have to deal with these guys. I wrote the Minister at Queens Park after I left the MOL I had worked with briefly and got a real answer from her and a phone call as well from one of her assistance, they seemed genuinely concerned, I guess I wasn't the first. The Ministry of Labour investigating techniques were the exact opposite. Treat those you come in contact with respect and you will get it in return and better yet good honest answers to your questions. -
OK, airmail me the co ordinates, I won't tell anyone!!!!!! Fantastic Sir. You sure hit them good. Airmail me a few fillets too while your at it.

A stainless screw at each and of the crack and fill with JB Weld. That stuff is amazing. Buddy has a 5LT Mercruiser that had a large crack in the intake manifold that was filled with JB Weld 4 years ago, it is still holding. I didn't think of it until "The Boat Whisperer" told you to do that on the phone yesterday. Wayne, do you think that is a good fix? I always bow to your expertise when it comes to aluminum repairs as well as most everything metal related.

So the Fat Lady has finally sung, it's over. Team &^%^**((* takes the win. They both deserved it as they both fished hard. I would have loved to see one of those hogs that team ^&&^$#@!@^ lost, what 5 at least. I always wonder why some fish are lost one after the other. I am going to miss watching 39 hours.

All aluminum. I thought it would have a sheet of marine grade ply sandwiched in al. I'm surprised it has an even small leak. That is a quality boat you have. Lt me ask the Boat Whisperer what he would use, I'll call you later. Actually we are headed to the Marina in an hour and I'll ask there too.

Algonquin Park Backcountry Permits Cancelled For Opener

Wowza, I didn't realize there is still snow in Central Ont, and still cold. It was up to 78F on the deck since Friday. Someone said they saw 80F. As far as an adult being responsible for themselves, this is Ontario for Heavens sake. Our Government is responsible for our safety because we are too stupid to take care of ourselves. -

That's a tragic and frightening story. Watching someone die will haunt you for life, especially due to an accident. It must be tough on your Uncle for certain. I have always prayed I never found a body in the water. I have seen photos, I don't want that experience in my life. There have been a few times a Police boat came buy and they told us they were looking for a drowning victim near us on the water. -
We will talk when you get back. You have a PM. In the mean time take a small core sample from a few spots in the transom, bottom, middle and top. Fill with 3M 5400 sealant. Or better yet bring the boat out to the shop when you get back from Atherly. If you are home call me I'm up and at em. JD

Like I said I wouldn't be able to tell what is a required update to keep running or some spy thing. It all looks like Chinese to me. So therefor I just let them do what they want to me. I don't like it but I'm afraid some updates are necessary to keep running smooth so I just go the auto update route. What else can I do other than go back to school, too late for that, it would cut into fishing, golfing and sleeping.

It will tow a 15 or 16 footer, but I think you will be on the bubble. My cousin tows the same size boat with his Caravan, I've driven it while towing the boat but I know there is a load behind it. Just take that extra caution especially when merging onto the highway and breaking. I cringe when we go up hills on the highway as that overdrive kicking in and out can't be good for the tranny.

When I read it this AM I realized I have never though about the signs of someone in distress. Opposite of what I thought. The only experience I had was when I was 11 and my brother was 5. He was almost gone when my buddy scooped him up out of 5 feet of water. And come to think of it he didn't make a peep when he was in trouble only a few feet away from us. The adults didn't believe us for some reason, I remember that. We still talk about it 50 years latter.
