Hahaha! Had me for a sec there.

Pigeon was open monday in the north end but not sure about now. You could always fish the burnt river if you're desperate.

I threw a bass sized baitcaster on a flipping stick and took it out to the pier to cast for kings. The Revo didn't stand a chance! Drag was 100% tight and I couldn't stop it, spooled my 30lb braid. I always wondered how big she was.

I sent a busted c3 into Abu and they took care of me. Seems to me they have decent service. As for the reel quality.. I had it rotation for a few years and used it lots until it was demoted. They are not great for pulling big baits for longer then that. For a hundred dollar reel, seems about par. But mine needed new gears or something... Didn't break a reel seat mid fish lol!

Couple cold nights with low winds coming up. If it is fishable now, might not be by sat . Really hope it is.. The weekend forecast is looking good as of now. I'm driving through rosedale fri night regardless. If no one gets you an update Pete I'll check back here and let you know how it looks.

Black dragon is amazing. I almost always order an unagi handroll too. Shouldn't of read this thread now.. Gotta get outta bed for a snack.

My mom's side is austrian... schnitzel's, goulash, paprikash holds a special place for me. Italian or asian anything... I could eat a veal sandwich or pasta daily. Love some korean or a big pho! I think I eat more ethnic than traditional now when eating out. My last meal however would be a fat rib steak, with banquet burger fries and gravy is a close second.

I was in the same boat two years ago deciding between vinyl and carpet. I went carpet because of the slippery factor with vinyl I was warned against when fishing below zero. I also fish in bare feet sometimes in the summer and vinyl gets hot apparently in the sun. My wood was in good shape so I resealed it and reused it but my floor has pigeon holes in it covered by flaps where I guess the manufacturer (sylvan) sprayed in the foam, so if I went with a vinyl covered floor it would show the imperfections, bumps etc. If I did it again with a different boat... I'd put carpet on the decks and vinyl everywhere else. I have the odd screw come loose from bumping around too so I'm gonna add a few more fasteners to keep the decks more secure. Use bolts where you can.

Nice sled! Looks like it'll cruise smoothly. Let us know how it makes out. I gotta put some ski's on mine

Nice work out there this fall! I remember that 56"er.. if I had a 56 not sure I'd be pulling the bump board out often either. Thanks for putting up the report.

Appreciate the info Cliff. I gotta go up next weekend to grab the boat... maybe get in another shot after this warm spell and rain. If not gonna pack the quinte gear and go for a drive sat morning.

I was thinking about tomorrow too... Anyone know how balsam looks around rosedale? We broke ice to get out of nogies last weekend... Has to be locked by now. Not sure how the launch in bobcaygeon is looking, but imagine there's ice on the west side too.

I researched the same question a few years ago and the concensus was contact cement. Just use it when it's warmer out... harder to work in the cold. 3m super77 spray adhesive works well too, I used it for the hatches.

Dock was there last Sunday... Not sure how long it stays in.

Awesome stuff Mike!! Enjoyed reading that. Gonna be tough getting back to work now lol.....

Great info, thanks. I ran car antifreeze last year, hoping I didn't do any damage.

Nice walter! The hat's been around the block a few times, seen more than it's share of fish I'm sure.

Very cool report!! Thanks for putting it together, enjoyed it!

Looking for some decent shore fishing spots close to the GTA
JoshS replied to adam lancia's topic in General Discussion
The islands would be accessible. You could start in Hanlen's and work your way around. The harbourfront has a few spots as well however not so great for bass. But if you are interested in pike or carp there are more options. I'll send over a pm. -
Nice work! Looked like some beauty days out there.... love the fall.

Hope you get to the bottom of it. Every time I'm out someone cuts it too close. I also love those super loud speed boats and the guys that rip back and forth full speed wasting fuel and annoying everyone within a few km radius. There should be a limit on how obnoxious your boat can be! A lot of pleasure boaters do not know to be respectful of fisherman's space unfortunately. Or they're just idiots. That guy you experienced sounds like the cream of the crop!

Lol funny thread. Did someone say fishing themed wedding!!? Some of you guys seem to have it pretty good! I'd be on the water every second of free time if it were up to me. It's nice to be "forced" to do other things. My girl doesn't fish much, we compromise and I stay home here and there. She's been pretty cool about the fishing since the start. But I do get the delema once in awhile: Now, I went last weekend and the weekend before, the bite is good and I have to get back out there... how do I swing this weekend too?

Nice fish there Pete! Great weekend to be out.

It was only a matter of time I guess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, TRUCK ME

Congrats! Gotta feel good, enjoy!! -
Well, four and half years later and I've still only caught pike in balsam. But they are throughout the whole chain apparently. The Balsam population is pretty strong now. Musky numbers of the smaller year classes seemed to have dipped a bit for me on balsam recently, but could just be me...
