  1. Great report, I give you guys credit for being out there in the weather we've had
  2. the fish are in the water. If you are walking through Dunnville you will smell fish, but that is usually eminating from the residents. I have a cousin there that looks like a mudcat. Quite a town that Dunnville
  3. zoinks! Some tense moments for that guy (although the camera man doesn't seem too concerned). Not too sure about the claim of 100's of deep scratches on the man's head and back though. I'm thinking if the bear got close enough to issue 100's of scratches that man would be bear poop by now.
  4. nice looking pike for a pond with max 6 foot depths. I've got a similar one near my house and the pike are absolutely tiny
  5. hahaha somebody censored me to read "What's his name"...either way, it was an acronym for do I....
  6. nice job Rich, hearing about lots of bass through the ice this winter
  7. I've never actually bought a portable, I have just made portable units out of regular fishfinders. All I ever did was buy a suction cup (probably 1 aisle over) and a box to house/transport everything in. Saved some $$ doing it that way, rather than paying 50.00 more for a matching case.
  8. I've never been called a super-predator before. Now that Predator from the movie Predator, THAT was a super-predator
  9. ...of course I mean goggles rather than googles...but if anyone has some spare googles let me know
  10. I say slap on a warm coat and a pair of googles...enjoy nature in its fullest
  11. how about rotflmao...or rotfLMAO...or (nobody slap me on this one) what's his name
  12. 8 feet of ice? Hit that with a manual auger...I dare you. I always thought lakes in "southern" ontario maxed out at about 4 feet.
  13. you're right goteeboy, I like/use the Roland Martin Oooooh son, that's a biggun
  14. don't know him, but to hijack your thread does anyone out there know tangledlines? I "won" the item they auctioned, sent the cheque out the next week, and have been waiting for my gift card ever since. Tried a couple of pm's which have gone unanswered. Now I've got Roy looking into things (which is unfortunate, as I'm sure Roy has better things to do)
  15. dang...stuck on bottom again...uh, wait a minute or pretty sure its just weeds
  16. forget the paint. Fish like a boat that looks like crap. My first boat was a lot like that one. I've moved on and am on my fourth boat now, but that little tinny saw some of the best fishing days.
  17. good timing for this post! I had the same situation at home last night. I saw my wife about to go at it with the potato and I told her not to bother, I would mangle it out with some pliers
  18. I was tossing magnum bulldawgs this fall without any problem. I paid $175 at LeBarons this summer, sounds like a great deal you got. I'm very pleased with the reel
  19. After catching glimpses of the game all night I happened to turn it back on when there was 11 seconds left, just in time to see we were losing and the puck pretty much frozen along the boards up near the blue line...just goes to show it ain't over till its over!! Fantastic finish.
  20. Lantana is only about 15 minutes south of there and there are a few drift fishing boats. I've been on the Lady K and Sea Mist (out of Boynton Beach) many times. Cost around 40.00 for a 4 hour trip. Bottom fishing you'll catch lots of snappers, grouper and triggerfish. Personally I always fished the upper water column for dolphin/kingfish/wahoo and the odd sailfish...not as many fish but my motto is go big or go home!
  21. marina is totally frozen. I saw people a couple of days ago fishing right out in the middle of the entrance of the marina
  22. I've had 3 of those Maina reels and I'd say they are so so at best. Only reason I bought them was the price. I actually bought 2, but had to return one for defectiveness and that s how I ended up having experiences with three. On the positive side i returned it practically no questions asked. Either that means they have great service or they 've had lots of returns and pretty much expect it to be faulty. Personally I won't buy another. A few months back I bought an Ambassaduer "Record" at LeBarons (because I was tired of the Maina practically falling apart in my hands) for $175 and it has been well worth the money. This is the best musky reel I have owned...having said that it is also the most expensive I've bought. 2nd best I've had would be the Ambassadeur 6500 which is basically the reel everyone owns (at least those who want to spend around 100.00). My advice is get the Ambassadeur for basically the same money rather than the Maina, or spend an extra 50.00 or so and get the "Record". I'm glad I did, the Maina's are basically retired from my box.
  23. Sounds like I missed a good one. To back up a few games though, they have to do something about that goal differential rule as a tiebreaker. when you have teams that have such different talent levels its a stupid tiebreaker...flip a coin for Pete's sakes or penalty minutes or smelliest jersey...whatever it takes but forcing these kids to rack up a 15 goal lead is unsportsmanlike
  24. something that isn't too messy coming back up
  25. I didn't see the game (and I don't know the final score) but i heard at one point it was tied at fours. Kudos to the US for making a game of it.
