  1. its been a few years since I've been there but I always found it to be pretty good. Like jb said, lots of weeds. I used to troll outside the (visible)weeds in the area of the sand dunes and caught all different species there (pike, bass, pickerel). Used to be a favorite destination of mine 20 years ago. I recall as a young punk heading out there at midnight, fishing for a few hours then passing out on the dunes til sunrise, fishing a bit, then hitting the Wooler Rd restaurant for the Hungry Man special (3 of everything)
  2. wow if you're going to whip up a breakfast like that you can drink at my place anytime
  3. First off thanks for all those who offered tips, posted pictures or even offered to send me some lights! What a great place OFC is. Anywho, came home after work and got her figured out right away (how to get at bulb)...and of course bulb doesn't seem to be the problem, it looked alright. I knew it could be like that, but didn't have one of those tester doo-hickey things to see if there is power getting to the light. After I see the bulb looks ok, decide to hook the wiring up to the truck just to make sure I was checking out the right bulb...been a while since I had the boat out, maybe it was the other side that wasn't working. Plug in the adapter to the truck, turn on truck and the adapter doesn't light up! (its one of those fancy-pants adapters that's nice and purple when power goes through it). Now I'm really ticked, at least last time out I had one light working, now I don't even seem to have power. Gonna have a drink, maybe put some grease on the contacts and try it again later.
  4. holy smokes, that first one from the slingshot video I thought the guy was going to hit the far shore! Looks like a lot of fun with some very good lookin wimmin
  5. thanks Scugog, mine look pretty much the same as yours except my wiring goes through one of the little slots on the side. I had tried to pull that piece out last night (stuck a screwdriver in one of the little slots to try and pry it out) but when it resisted I figured I was doing something wrong (learned that lesson from my wife )
  6. awesome! so I do have to remove that "translucent" piece from the bottom it appears. Looks like from the photos the red part is all one piece and its the bottom that pops out
  7. good call on the stainless...considering i have to replace both bolts that is the way I'll go!
  8. Roy, I got the bolts out but still can find no way to pop any cover off. I tried going in through the bottom of the unit (there's a bit of a translucent shield) but that didn't seem like the way to get at it.
  9. if I decide to take a run at this tomorrow night I will post some pictures!
  10. I found the ground...it was around the bolt that I had to drill out! The trailer is close to 10 years old so don't think its led
  11. neat videos...I also just discovered I could have both videos running at the same time!
  12. Noticed my right trailer light wasn't working, so went to put in a new bulb, piece of cake right? Couldn't figure out how to pop the red lens off (last trailer they came off easily). Saw couple of screws in the back so thought maybe have to remove whole housing. Of course the screws broke in the process so had to drill them out. Got the whole housing off the trailer now (other than the wires holding them) and still can't figure out how to get at the dang bulb!! Am I missing something here? Like I said, last trailer I had the lens came off no problem, this thing is like trying to get into Fort Knox. Trailer is a princecraft for anyone who has any knowledge. Now its personal.
  13. nice looking fish! Not bad for 20 minutes
  14. sure they are there, but a bit of a needle in a haystack unless you're trying some of the more concentrated spots (niagara, st lawrence)
  15. Good for you Chris, hopefully some day you can achieve a balance. For me, also with a young family, it means I get the boat out approx once every two weeks and fish for around 6 hours. When I go, I leave home super early so that I will be home early afternoon and can spend the rest of that day with my wife and kids. Not as much as i like to fish, but like you, its not necessarily about what i want. People have to consider the others in their lives. I hope you stay on OFC, because for me this is how I scratch that fishing itch!
  16. you will want to avoid Mr. Musky until you can get reasonably comfortable handling fish. Good luck and I hope lots of feisty finned toothless fish come your way
  17. ...if you do the exact opposite of everything people told you I think you'll do just fine
  18. I had a tussle with a snapper last week and I tell you they are one tough animal! I can't believe this guy could kill one with his bare hands. I'd hate to think how many times he had to smack it against the golf cart to kill it because I guarantee you it would be more than 10 times.
  19. ummmm...methinks you might want to make sure wifee doesn't read your post!
  20. I'm not really a dog person, but if I had one I'd want it to look just like Winston. He is one fine specimen
  21. wow sad to hear. This summer can't end soon enough for nhl tough guys
  22. I have one of me kissing my mother-in-law who looks a bit like a carp if that's good enough
  23. you'll love it. Casting deck with bowmount is a huge advantage (at least for the types of fishing I do)
  24. oooh she's a beaut. Casting? trolling? lure?
  25. sorry Josh you're too late. The deal was so good I went and bought it myself
