Are you sure a first timer can purchase online? I thought you can only renew online? Could be wrong. Or is it you can purchase online but have to wait for it to be mailed to you and you can't print it off. I thought there was some hiccup. My memory gets worse and worse every year.

I'm shopping around for a new pair of sunglasses and want the best polarized lens. I have heard a lot of good things about the maui's but am also considering the Costa del mar's as well. Any opinions on the quality of their polarized lens'? Thanks.

I do the same except go one step further. When I get home, I'll take a pocket knife and pry open the shot for reuse.

dont bother with the small side. it was choked up with weeds in June. I couldn't get one cast with any bait without coming up with a pile of salad, even weedless lures. Its only gotten lower and weedier.

look for a decent used reel. I have owned probably 7 different reels and every single one of them was used except for my first. nothing was wrong with any of them. I just like to switch it up every few years. My first was the cheapest one I could afford and it was probably the worst reel ever made. Line would jam between the spool and backplate, and it would take a mac truck to get the reel to spin. I've bought float reels as cheap as $50 and it worked great (aurora barrington)

My son was just born on August 1. He was 7 days late and my daughter was 10. Both still had to be induced. You may still have a while to wait.

fish cleaning station - Frenchman's Bay

Thanks for the replys. Is there one in the east end? Pickering Ajax area? -
Does anyone know if there is a fish cleaning station at Frenchman's bay? If so, where exactly is it located?

There are two entries into this small lake. From Downstream but its much closer with very little current or upstream but its 3x the length and also have to factor the paddle back. I decided to do the upstream route as it seemed more likely I would not encounter any issues with land owners with this route. It was a long paddle in and an even longer paddle out with the current and wind. In the end, I made it to the lake and it was a total bust. About 3 feet deep, and strangely with no weed growth or fish. Oh well, it satisfied my curiousity. Now I can sleep at night. If you ever decide that you want to try out this small lake, don’t. http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=lindsay,+on&hl=en&ll=44.445669,-78.578596&spn=0.035969,0.098791&sll=43.672673,-79.400886&sspn=0.145766,0.395164&t=h&hnear=Lindsay,+Kawartha+Lakes+Division,+Ontario&z=14

An update: I contacted the MNR in attempts to see if they could help me determine if the Private Property signs are legit. They couldn't really help me out and stated that the navicable water act is federal jurisidiction so they refered me to them. Left a detailed message and I'm waiting for a reply.

I found a small lake that I would love to access with my kayak. By looking at the map, it seems the only way to access is by a small creek. I checked it out last weekend and before unpacking everything, I saw a sign staked right in the middle of the creek saying private property. I thought that waterways are accessible? Can someone correct me if I'm wrong? I wouldn't be getting out of my yak and stepping foot on the land or even the creek bed. Thanks.

ebay for a replacement iphone screen. Approx $25 Youtube for self installation. Free. I haven't done it myself but have replaced my rear camera for about $6.

X2 on the outcasts.

Thanks for all the tips. If it were up to me, I would have one by now. I asked about the costs so I can justify to the wife. If I can convince her to forgo the $400 salon trips we'll be fine! Lol. Got the car, cash and some time. Just need a wife that understands our addiction.

Thanks. Does anyone know what price range I'd be looking at to store a boat per month?
-
I’m loosely thinking of getting a boat but I don’t know all the costs involved. Can some of you boat owners chime in on, Storage costs. I probably won’t dock it. Just store in a lot and pick up when I need to use it. Insurance costs. Licensing And anything else I’m missing. I’ll probably be looking for a 16 footer, around 50hp, trailer. Thanks!

I was out on Sunday afternoon - probably not the best time. I had the same results boating 0 walleye but a few bass and a musky which were released of course.

There are many curing methods out there that will work but I'm with Bill - just dry a bit and freeze. Nothing added. You could also parse out the roe and try a few different methods, label them and freeze. Which ever works best, stick with that one going forward.

rowing is fine but a bit tricky. pontoons don't have a keel to keep it straight so it takes a bit of getting used to. I mostly float down rivers but for ponds, lakes and reservoirs, I'll throw on the motor, mainly because I like to troll.
-
Due to limited storage space, I use an inflatable one man pontoon boat with trolling motor strapped to the motor mount. Usually I just row but the last few outings I put on the trolling motor. My question is, does the battery have to be covered? Whats the risk of having it exposed? I do strap the thing down so it doesn't slide off.

Not sure if this was mentioned already but carry some extra skirts. Pike chew them up and even largies can do some damage to them with their sandpaper teeth. As for weight, depends on how I want to present. If the weeds are right to the top, I prefer 1/4. that way I can still slow roll the spinnerbait and have it ride above the weeds. willow blade helps as well for shallower presentation. For distance and depth and fast retrieve, I like the 3/8, 1/2 and heavier.
