  1. dock to trailer
  2. Price doesn't matter. Work is paying for them so sky's the limit.
  3. I know nothing about polarized sunglasses. I'm thinking of buying a decent pair. Are there different levels of polarization allowing more glare reduction? If so, lets hear of some of the brands people have. I have heard maui jims are good but I don't think the styles are my cup of tea. Oakley's, are they up there? What is a good all round colour or any good brands that have interchangeable lens. Thanks.
  4. McDonalds at age 16. Favourite was when people would order a cheeseburger with no cheese. Didn't last long there. Worked at a variety store after until I graduated high school. Its in my Korean blood.
  5. Awesome work. Keep posting your creations!
  6. Very nice work Spiel. Do you find that these realistic creations catch more fish? I've tied a few realistic stonefly patterns as well but oddly they don't work as well some something that looks nothing like a bug or fish.
  7. i'll be building a small wall unit for the basement tv. also continuing making some steelhead floats. i'll post some pics later. was planning on starting today but its bloody cold, even in the garage
  8. tighlines in pickering. Or make them yourself.
  9. I'll second that for the XST. Great action and pretty light. My friend and I tied it together. I'll put up some pics later.
  10. Hey Solo, Tell me what you do for orvis returns. My friend has just returned his silver labels and the most they are giving him is 40% off a new pair. The waders are about 5 years old. They look brand new as well. This guy only goes out 4-5 times a year. So in the end he is still dishing out $180 for a new pair.
  11. A trick I do is put the hook on the keeper and then loop the line around one of the handles of my reel. I don't need to engage the clicker either but I usually do just in case.
  12. Some fly tying thread works well too.
  13. You can gently tap out your bearings on the islander. just be carefuly not to dent the seal. I believe islander puts in the bearing with a bit of blue locktight. Something I do to make my islander spin a bit better is to put a TINY dab of locktight on the thread of the screw and tighten only until you don't get any play in the reel. Let the lock tight dry and the screw is set. You can still get the screw off with a little bit of force but its on there tight enough that it won't come loose while fishing. Just be sure not to use the red lock tight. I think that stuff is permanent.
  14. Being a 9-5er, I don't have much time so I had tried it a few times but each time success was limited. It helps to fish somewhere where there is a street light. Also it seems the fish will spread out at night - lay in shallows and edges of pools so try drifting everywhere.
  15. Anyone know where i can get a travel rod for a decent price in the GTA? I know BPS has some. Just looking for some other options. Thanks.
  16. I have a trolling motor question for you guys. I just picked up a used transom mount trolling motor, battery and charger for some small back lakes fishing next year. I know nothing about maintenance of the battery or the trolling motor. Should I leave the battery on trickle charge all through the winter? Or can I just leave it in the garage all winter? What about storing the motor. Can I leave that in the garage as well? Also, the previous owner mentioned topping up the motor with clean distilled water by opening up the battery. Is that necessary? Help please. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.
  17. Another new reel? You are such a gear junkie! I'm just jealous.
  18. I hate you Louis. We were there on Sunday and it was probably 2 inches of vis. The only place we got fish was the small feeder creek. Oh well, theres always next time.
  19. I have been using micro tubes for about 5 years now. I don't use a lead head but instead shove a small split shot in the body to make it sit horizontally. Then just hook it through the back like a live minnow. Works fine for me.
  20. I'll be working in downtown Guelph for a couple of days in late september. Can anyone help with some areas to fish? I see the ermosa runs right through town. Any good spots to fish from shore? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  21. you could just launch right in Sturgeon at verulum park. Its free. i think there is one on hickery road as well. http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&ie=UT...077162&z=14
  22. No one has mentioned the torpedo. Love that for topwater. The whirling propellers reallys gets the bass going. Same technique - cast out, wait for ripples to disapate and twitch two or three times and wait again.
  23. Hey Shnaggs, The fish numbers and size in the diable don't compare to the fish in the grand. I know you can get some bigger fish (17-19 inches) more north closer to the national park. The water can get pretty warm in the summer but with the cool summer we have been having so far, I would think it would still be pretty cool. I usually fish the sections closer to the village just for convenience. I have not have caught any monsters here. All the fish I have caught have been in the 8-11 inch range. I am an amateur fly fisherman. Actually, I think I only fly fish when I go to tremblant. Wading there is tough so be careful. I usually just try to find some big boulders and cast my flies in the slack water. I have had success with big kauffman stones and klinks. There is another species that is similar to a whitefish that reside in that river and readily takes dries so I have heard. Dave.
  24. I'm going for a week right after you. If I bring the rod, its a fly rod and I fish for the browns in the diable river. They have clear marked points on the back side of the mountain. Watch out for bears though. Saw one last year when I was out. You can get your license at the CT in St. Jovite. If you want a really good spot for the kids to fish, fish lake oullette just off the hwy and south of Gray rocks. You will catch a ton of sunfish, perch and rock bass. As well as the odd smallie. Anyone know of a good smallie lake in the area?
