Hi everyone. This is not fishing related but I'll throw it out there. It seems my ac just conked out. When I turn it on I don't hear the ac engine/ compressor going anymore and no diff in air temp coming out. Does anyone shed some light on possible problem(s)? Does anyone know a good treasonable priced ac repairman? Thanks everyone in advance. Dave

I guess your right Cuzza. I guess I was misinformed. Sorry about that everyone. Some pretty good deals on ebay. I have a lot of success with them with river smallies. Thinking of summer already!

One of my fav baits and they discontinued it. Does anyone know of any other lure company that makes something similar? Thanks.

For you fat fingered people, download the app Dragon Dictation from the app store. Just talk into the mic and it does all the typing for you. You can use it for text, email, facebook..... whatever you want. Not sure if its available for BB. I'm an iphone user. Works amazing. I even use it for work when I don't want to type out a long document. Just talk into the mic, email it to myself, copy and paste it to word. One thing i have noticed is that reception seems be be lower on the iphone compared to the BBs. All the iphone users in my office don't get reception in our building. The only way is to find the sweet spot and park the phone there. No problems for the BB users.

Sorry. you were asking about the rod not line. Its a 9 foot st croix travel rod 8 weight. So I should be good there.

to my honest I don't know what my existing line is. I break out the fly rod once every two years if that.

I'm going to cuba this saturday and people say there are bonefish right off the beach! Can't wait. My question is, do I need to get saltwater fly line or is my ordinary floating line fine? I will probably only fish a day or two as its a family vacation. Any of you had experience with bonefish? Successful flies? I tied a few crazy charlies last night but looking for some more successful patterns. Thanks.

Black Mountain Socks. Anyone ever tried?
super dave replied to hunterjoe84's topic in General Discussion
I also recommend the BPS socks. I use a poly liner and I'm comfy all day standing in cold water. Like you I used to get cold feet easily. -
I talked to a sales guy at blacks and he told me that Olympus has been focusing most of the R & D money on the case and the water proof technology as opposed to the lens and picture quality. So even with the new cameras that are out with Olympus, they are not much different from the ones they offered a couple of years ago. This is what I have been told. You also have to see how well they take pictures indoors or low light. Not all your shots are going to be of fish and underwater. I have an older Olympus stylus and the picture quality indoors in terrible. For outdoor shots with lots of light, its hard to get a bad shot. I don’t know the deal about fuji.

Good for ypu. Our family ran this morning. My sis in law and mother in law both had breast cancer.

If you want to spend as little as possible, look into a used set up. Look in the classifieds here or on the floatboard. Tones of used inventory this time of year. For rod, I'd rather buy new. Okuma and Quantum make some inexpensive rods that range just over $100. Or make your own by buying the components. I order for John's fly material in London ON. Great service and reasonable prices.

Fall Fishing Sturgeon Lake. Any Advice?
super dave replied to super dave's topic in General Discussion
Any bait/lure favourites? Thanks for the responses so far. -
When fall comes rolling around, I usually switch gears and break out the river gear but after a busy summer with little outings out on the lake, thought I would try one last time for some fall lake fishing. We will be hitting Sturgeon in the Kawarthas. I’ve never fished a lake this late in the year. Where would the majority of the fish be staging? I know they well be feeding well to fatten up for summer but where typically this time of year? Any advice would be appreciated. Hopefully I will have some pics to post after this weekend! Thanks.

Question for you Sportspal owners. I just picked up a used one for pretty cheap but it needs some work done to it. One of it being replacing the foam liner. I know I can get a replacement one from the North Bay but by looking at it, it looks like a plain piece of closed cell foam. Any of you owners replaced it by purchasing the foam somewhere else? Also a few of my steel ribs are missing. I guess I’ll buy those directly from the company unless anyone else has any other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Fantastic shots. I was just in Jasper and Mt Robson a couple of weeks ago but my shots didn't turn out as nice as yours!

There are 6 screw off caps on top of the batt. It's a bps power series model. I don't see a water level line. Anyone? Sorry for all the questions

I need some help. I bought a used trolling motor last year with battery. I stored the battery fully charged but when I checked the charge it's almost dead. Is this normal? The guy I bought it from said to top it off with distiller water. How would I go about doing that? Should I charge first then top up? Or other way around? Any tips welcome. Thanks!!

I picked up a small trolling motor for my canoe last year but the problem is my canoe is not a flat back so I need to attach a motor mount. anyone ever built one before? I see them being sold online but it looks like most are attach on the inside wall of the canoe. My canoe does not have a lip on the inside but on the outside. Ideas anyone?

Thanks for the replies. Drifter, how do you paint yours?
-
yup he will. But I'm only going with a guide for one day.
-
Where do you guys purchase yours? Do you just buy regular beads at the bead store or order from somewhere like Trout beads .com? Do these make a difference? I got a guide booked in BC on the fraser and he said he normally uses beads for the bulls there. Would like to stock up on some before. Thanks.

I owned the osprey for about half a season. It was a terrible reel. super heavy, short nubby handles and it wobbled all over the place. I could only loosely tighten the nut otherwise the thing would not spin. Still caught quite a few fish with it. Mine was a prototype and the maker punched some holes in it to make the spool a bit lighter.

Is there a way to determine if land is crown land? Looking at the map for some fishing spots and I don't want to have any confrontation with land owners. Thanks.
