  1. Funny you mention that John. I've been discussing that quote with some friends and I took the same thing out of it that you did. They thought I was crazy.
  2. I'll waive to you all from the Igloo. Hey TJ, can you get me a black and gold OFC hat?
  3. As a Pittsburgher, I love having Crosby. That being said, I think Ovechkin has way more natural scoring talent. His wrister is sick. His slapper is nasty. He can score from almost everywhere. He played a little more defense tonite than he usually does. He's a hitter for such a dominant scorer and he can take alot of hits too. My opinion is that he takes breaks throughout the game at times. Big turnover tonite that lead to a goal. I'm not a big fan of his two way play. He is just such a nasty scorer that he can change a game in a heartbeat. He struck fear in every Pens fan I know. I'd love to have him but . . . In our current system, give me Crosby. I know he takes alot of crap about being a whiner and a baby but he's one tough dude. He takes alot of hits, some of them cheap. He draws penalties and makes you pay. He has the benefit of playing with Malkin quite a bit and he can set up a goal second to none. I think he's more of a complete player and he plays defense (just like tonite) and his motor never stops. He's also a true scorer. We had the local feed here and they showed his last three breakaways against Theodore. First one, low stick side. Goal. Second one, low glove side. Goal. Tonite, 5 hole. Goal. Used his brain to score that goal. They are both ridiculously gifted. The Caps need to pair Ovi up with someone with younger legs. Fedorov isn't the guy. Big game tonite. The better leader showed up.

    Hey Joey!

Happy Birthday Joey! Hope you had a great day.
  5. Hmmmm. Daplumma, how's things?
  6. I hope I get to watch the boring series. Not so sure though.
  7. I really enjoyed that. Thanks.
  8. They're nice fish I guess. My 40 pound muskie calls them dessert. Nice fish Mike. You'll have to let me tag along soon.
  9. Lokks great bud! I have to figure out a way to get in that boat for a day.
  10. Just go with your gut. My brother got married a couple years ago. I considered every option. Rather than the traditional bachelor party, I picked up the tab for a 3 day guided muskie trip with Marc Thorpe. It was unbeliveable. My dad nailed a 55 and the last day we landed 7 muskies in 6 hours. I'll never forget it. The report from that bachelor party is somewhere on this board.
  11. Very nice boss.
  12. I think about it all the time Roy. Not sure he's ever come home, or even to Ontario again if I make the trip to Montreal.
  13. Hey Marc, that's good stuff. What I really want to see are the outtakes from the 2 Best Days of Muskie Fishing Ever. I just watched that one and it brought back some good (and crazy) memories from the 3 days just before that. Reel Mfr, Reel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Add our last day and those 3 days were crazy.
  14. The are nice to fish out of but we've had screws and bolts come loose on brackets. They used alot of plastic bracketing. My brother had been forced to make his own modifications on ocassion. You're right, that;s right about when they came out.
  15. Cool idea. Just wish I was closer to you all. Hopefully OFC can help get the word out and make it a great success.
  16. For me, it's Sturgeon Falls. Since I was about 13 years old my dad, brother and I have been making the trip to Nip/Upper French launching out of there. As fate would have it, years later I met TJ, his wonderful wife Monique and the kids, Avery and Jaden. I treasure their friendship and look forward to travelling there for years to come.
  17. Happy Birthday you old Coona$$. All the best. Get well soon too. Looks like some nasty weather may be in store for you.
  18. Nice fish and great pictures. I can see your arm is bent. Not sure why the others can't.
  19. Icedude, No worries. This is a great issue worthy of debate. I think there are many "right" solutions to the problem. Today isn't yesterday anymore and the rules need to change.
  20. If I recall correctly, there was a shooting incident near the mouth of the French over the cutting of nets. Aside from the conservation side, the other consequences of the current state of the law can be troubling too.
  21. Thanks. Boy does that really make me rethink my confidence level while fishing. I usually only wear the life jacket when moving.
  22. Agreed that the fishing is still very good up there. However, the comments made on that last thread, from all perspectives, are legitimate and should be considered. The nets are just slaughtering the walleyes and alot of other game fish that don't end up being harvested. The fishing was tougher just before the slot was imposed. The slot has done wonders restoring it back. We still get our limit of eaters but have been picking up bigger fish (9 pounder, some 7s and 5s and 6s). Before the slot, we had real trouble finding the bigger fish. But, for publicity sake, let's just say the fishing sucks. May give me more water to fish.
  23. I liked that Maverick. Well said.
  24. Great report Cliff.
  25. Thanks for that.
