Yes tons of fall fishing for brown fish yet to go !!!! But ya I can't wait for winter !!!! Here's why ))))

Just about any GPS will give you that info and if that's all you want it for won't cost a ton either brian just start a waypoint from where you start & track that's all can't get any easier than that !!! It will give you your distance traveled and speed and if you go over a shoal or anything you can mark waypoints as you go !!!! Just a small handheld and put it in your pocket !!!! Attach a floating small bouy or something to it and you are golden some are waterproof as well but you don't need to spend a ton just a basic GPS will do man !!!! Cheers

Another reason for the powers that be to keep on raiding insurance rates and licensing !!! Boats that big should be made to take additional courses like the power & sail course and how to operate the big boats !!! Most don't even know how to set their trim tabs anyways .... The gong show in action ..... Unreal ....

. Use the wind man !!!! Fish the windy side of humps bays or mid lake humps for smallies !!!! It's the best time for the big brown fish !!!!! Wind piles up bait & blows in food as well as diminishes light !!!! It can be a banner day !!!! With several big feeding times even at high noon & sunny skies !!!!! Plan your trip on where to go accordingly !!!!! Just make sure you are safe & your boat can handle it !!!!! Windy days for bass can be the best fishing you can have all year !!!!

From about mid September till season closer we will dropshot them and stand on them with tubes & swammers and we do amazing with them when they start schooling up on shoals & dropoffs !!!! Deady technique !!!! one if about 30 smallies caught last year late October just standing on them with a xzone dropshot !!!!!! It was hammer time )

Yes you are right Shane it doesn't get any easier than that !!!! I have a bump board installed in my Lund it so quick to do it as well minimal time the fish is out of the water as well just takes seconds. Cheers

The walleye fishing was stellar in the spring but up north in Haliburton the rain came again & again and high water & cold temps and it sure changed fish locations & their feeding habits specially the lack of weeds !!! But man I have got some real tank smallies and have had to work for them but that's fine with me and has made it a challenge for sure !!!! The lakes and area I fish the fish are deeper for sure this year but once you get into a good program it's been awesome !!! Keep changing things up and trying areas is the key

Smallies will do the same thing !!!! Especially on a jerkbait or spinnerbait !!! Sometimes you think it's a small fish but it's not always and even worse is when they bump it almost boat side and you get to see them !!!! Happened to me yesterday !!!! I'm still not over it yet it was a monster

this is a happy troller and I had a buddy modify it by putting another notch in it for more precise trolling speed and it turns easily and does the job perfectly I have had this plate for years and it's been on 2 motors now and it will pretty much last forever and works awesome !!!! It was on a 40hp before and is now on a 50hp they have 2 sizes of these 50hp & over and 50hp under mine is the smaller size !!!! Hope this helps

For years I did the 128km one way commute to live up here in bobcaygeon and drive to Ajax I did around 90,000km a year !!!! Now I'm 65km one way to work so it's awesome now !!!! 600km a week as opposed to 1,200-1,300km a week !!!! And it's always worth it to be out of the city

Yes about 3hrs !!! I do it almost every weekend a 2hr drive for me from bobcaygeon gives me about 3,000 lakes to fish !!!! So many lakes so little time !!!!! Lol

I have not seen any reports from Huron yet but for Lake Ontario !!!!

The salmon have arrived in lots of areas and guys are getting them off the piers and in some cases in the creeks & rivers already !!!! Go get em !!!

Well I hit another bucket list lake in the northeast area of central Ontario on Saturday in the poring rain!! Wind and cold !!! Perfect weather for chasing down brown fish (aka) smallies well they didn't disappoint !!!! Got tons in the 2lb range with several in the 3-4 range too !!! Got fish on cranks spinnerbaits & senkos as well as jerk baits !!!! Anyways here is a few .... Fish-on

Go with the honda 7.5 long shaft perfect and lots of motor for your boat !!! Long shaft for sure as if you are on rough water it won't cavitate or come out of the water while running get a small 2-3gallon tank for it and it will run for hours and hours !!! They are very tough little motor and with reg Maintenence will run forever !!!! My freind has a honda 8hp on a 19ft boat and it does awesome you can get a prop for it as well and will really have the tourque to push !!!! Good choice for sure
