Any roofing guys out there. Got two quotes for my roof and prices were the same and same workmanship I have seen both of their jobs . . . Reliable and insured . . . BBB members. the only difference is the brand of shingles they use. One uses Landmark and the other Cambridge. Cambridge is made by Iko. any comments?

Salt is bad for you! like McFries and the rest of that crap! I had my first Tims a while back, power was out and the the kids went and got one. How do can drink that crap is beyond me, and the garbage they produce is even worse! -

Who and What can we believe today?

John, in the last four years, we have seen it all. Stoke the fire and people will gather and listen to stories. What happened to the time when you could put a dime in tray and take paper and that dime would not be touched. Today they take the box! Times are changing. there is no care for your neighbour’s well being. The decisions will affect is all in the future. I was an avid news watcher, but today it’s only ONE story. Hour after hour. Gave it up. Hopefully our future will look brighter. A -
Carpet Stairs to hardwood/LVF ideas?
ketchenany replied to Raycaster's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
have you checked that under that carpet there is hardwood? It does happen. I just got my builder basement stairs done, no curves. They put in new cover and risers, the covers were stained to match the floor. The blanks were raw. Cost came with the basement work. Hope there is hardwood under there. -

Dan, I have an old friend who did it with his dad, each night they would go and have a taste! It never made it to the bottles he told me. I used to cure olives in one of those crocks, still have it. -
Covid 19 and Canadian Border closing
ketchenany replied to Pochucker's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
I helped promote Ontario to our southern friends for nearly 24 years. They were probably 75+ percent out our target audience. Nothing would please me more to see our American friends come and visit. But lets be careful, it could turn on us. Our cases are going down and vaccinations have started. I would say hold on and see what happens. There will be a lot opinions on this. Canada has had it almost under control since the beginning. We in Ontario have followed the rules I hope. I have along with my family. Last year I had to cancel a cruise out of FT Lauderdale. Hopefully this will work out by the end of summer. -

Clarification ‘yes’ you can run out there Terry but if the ice is thin that pressure will do you in. Walk slowly and carry a spud. Better to take Brian out with you.Have him test it. They also have no ‘clause’ on portable fishing huts. I would think that the “you are too $&#$#& close distance fishing rule will be good. One good open-water cast away is fine. keep safe

happy Birthday DanD. Yes family is important. I had milestone last year and did nothing . . At Christmas one of my daughters gave me a lifetime gift that they all had planned and paid for. A hardcover book of my life in pictures, mostly important dates and a lot with them (4 girls) and their kids, family holidays etc. I was lost for words. Where they dug up the pictures is beyond me. But I always had camera with me and took thousands. I’m going to finish it off with my Typograpghy Journey I have written (52 years). I will burn a DVD and put it on the inside front cover. Many more Dan.

NO arguments needed, I agree with you. My first time that I have answered to your post. Sorry, Apluma but we are bombarded with opinions from both sides. We are doing a lot better up here and hope to keep it that way. Everyone of us as an opinion, that is a democratic right for us all. My family follows what we are expected to do and will follow what our leaders say. So far we have not been affected by following the rules. My hope is that this will come to an end and we can all work together no matter what are political beliefs are. “It is about survival”, and for me seeing my children survive and their children. Keep well. This not may go over well but then democracy is what our parents fought for.
