  1. What u have Brian?? How thick? I also will be looking for a piece in spring for my LSS2 ducer.
  2. Bingo!! Had one battery for my trolling motor last summer that wouldn't take a charge. Popped the cap and it was low on water. Topped it up and it was good to go. Good place to start.
  3. This was my first time at this event and I had a great time. Fishing wasn't great for us. Started off at my hut and weren't marking a thing. Headed deeper to try for a trout, but no luck there either. Ended up going for perch near snake island and got about a dozen jumbos, but not big enough unfortunately. We almost didn't make the weigh in due to my buddy hitting a crack near the island and losing everything in his pail. Had to double back and pick everything up. All in all, we had a great time and plan on doing it again next year. Thanks to all who helped organize. Great job!!!
  4. A lot are from this guys who's travelling coast to coast taking pics of huts for a coffee table book. http://www.icehuts.ca/mobile#_portfolios_a1 Lots from simcoe, and a lot of cool ones. I know I'm keeping my eye open for the book when it's published.
  5. Good thread. If money wasn't an issue, it would be one if these for sure. http://kingfisherboats.citruspiemg.mobi/offshore Until then..... I like mine. Does what I need it to do.
  6. I've been trying to find some info on this event. Is there a website with rules, categories, blast off and weigh in times, cost, etc. ? When I google it, I only get a webpage from 2011. I've been asked by a couple of friends to join them for it, and think it would be fun, just want to know what to expect. Thanks everyone.
  7. I'm not too knowledgable about the specifics on boat motors and brands, but my old legend had a merc 4 stroke. From new I had nothing but issues with that thing. Finally got sick of being stranded on the lake and upgraded to a 2009 etec. Let the issues begin. In 2 1/2 seasons, that thing went through 5 computers. ( good thing I got the extended warranty). In one summer it was in the shop for 7 weeks. Sold that boat with the etec, and upgraded my boat. Had it powered with a Yamaha 4 stroke. Not one issue in 2 full seasons. (Touch wood). Fuel mileage isn't as great, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for reliability. Just my personal experience. Nothing more.
  8. And this was yesterday at the hut. Seems to be all good now. Going forward, I think I'll stay on top of the ice instead. Lol
  9. Just picked the wrong spot to cross a crack is all. I was being careful and going slow on the rough ice. If I was going fast, I would have skipped right across. Sled went down and I jumped away from it. Ended up in the water up to my eyeballs. Pulled myself out, got picked up by someone who saw me and went home to change. Called the gang, and went to work immediately to get it out. I was wearing my mustang ice rider coat, and that helped to keep me up. Went in at 430pm and by 730, had it in the garage getting torn down. Had sled running that night.
  10. Had it all out within 2 hrs of going down. Sleds working now so is auger. HDS7, not so lucky.
  11. 1 week ago, my sled, HDS7, and jiffy.
  12. 10 years ago I got married in St Lucia. What a beautiful place. We stayed at randezvou resort. I fished almost every morning and night from the beach and breakwall in front of the resort. Nice fish. We caught small barracuda off the beach at night and silver snapper from the breakwall in the morning. Same rig as you with a drop shot style but we used raw chicken. Instead of a rod we used a type of spool. Seeing those pics brought back some find memories. Thanks!! If I'm not mistaken that's right near the market ( could be wrong). Good to hear you had a fishy day. One day we will return in sure.
  13. Take some pictures and email to clam customer service. You never know... They do have a great warranty. Last year, the tub cracked on my one man flip over. Sent a few pics to them with an explanation as to what happened, within a week, I had a new tub delivered via UPS free of charge. The clam was 4 years old, and they replaced it no questions asked.. It's worth a shot..
  14. Happy thanksgiving!!!!! no turkey for us this year.....just put a pork shoulder in the smoker..will be ready in about 7 hrs.... first time trying this, hope it turns out!!

  17. Brian. I had no problem finding them yesterday. All jumbos. Nothing under 10". If you want to get out, PM me.
  18. Out of curiosity....Does anyone know if the plugs for power and transducer are the same as The HDS5 Gen2?? I would hate to have to fish all new wires in my boat.. I'll be going to look at this today...

  22. I was down there all weekend fishing in the King Of The Lake tourney. Those piggies were everywhere. I'm guessing when I say we caught over 60 lakers this weekend. Biggest was 24lbs on a scale. A GREAT weekend fish wise, but not too many kings in yet. Good to see you caught lots of fish.
  23. It doesn't get any more Canadian than this. GO CANADA GO!!!!! :fishing: :fishing:
  24. I just returned from Cozumel a week ago. It was my second time there. Not sure about the mainland side, but on cozumel Island, on the west side, is a National Marine park/sanctuary. You have to be 1 mile west of the reefs, past the dropoff to fish. I would double check regulations for the mainland before taking your gear. The first time I was there, I didn't check before I left, and I had to pay for an extra bag $50 each way. On the brighter side, May is a great time for offshore fishing between the mainland and the island, as it is a major migratory route for sailfish, marlin, and Mahi mahi, and peak season is May. There is also a big money tournament there in the beginning of May, and some of the charter boats are entered. You will have fun anyway. Its a beautiful place with the best diving in the northern hemisphere. If you're a diver, make sure you go!! Some of the fish caught:
