  1. You dont think being searched for NO REASON has anything to do with your civil rights? It does mine. I just dont like the idea of being searched when I am being honest about everything. I get that a lot of people aren't honest, but I am, and being searched for nothing feels like I'm being violated. S.
  2. Yeah, what he said ^ Ripping, and jigging for walleye are two totally different things that require two totally different set ups. I use a MH fast for ripping, ML fast for jigging and rigging live bait. One set up isn't going to do both well. S.
  3. I wouldn't have stopped, and I don't feel they have any right to search through my stuff either. If they stopped me afterwards, I would obviously pull over and not give them a hard time, but I wouldn't be comfortable letting them search through all my gear. If I had fish, I'd show them, no question, but they don't need to do a search of all my gear. That's not cool. S.
  4. Awesome! Thanks!
  5. Cool, I will check out that group. Never thought to even look there! Thanks!
  6. Just fish for walleye on the kawartha's....lol S.
  7. Yes, there is a dock, but it may not be there right now. I usually launch in bobcaygeon. Go over the bridge, first right on anne st, follow to the water. There is usually a dock there too, but the water is so high right now, I don't know if it will be in. I haven't been on pigeon yet. S.
  8. I thought so. It wasn't very big. Maybe 34" or so. Georgeous fish, and fought like mad on walleye gear. S.
  9. I'm having a brain cramp, and can't find it in the regs, but is a tiger musky considered a pike, or a musky?? I caught my first one last night. Beautiful fish. I wouldn't keep one, but the question came up, and I wasn't sure.... S.
  10. Wow...lots of great info. Thanks!! S.
  11. I heard they weren't 100% sure yet on the radio this morning. High flows are messing things up. S.
  12. Yeah, my boat has a different layout. Its wide open to the front bench, with a split rear bench. Right now my floor is pressure treated 3/4 boards. That was a lot easier and it has been a great floor! Next time i will do checker plate. S.
  13. And I don't mean rolling them in papers.... I have a new smoker. Its a masterbuilt electric. Pretty cool, but I know nothing about smoking fish....except eating it!! Lets hear some methods, recipes, special brines...whatever you have to share. I have some whities I want to smoke, and I will have some lakers to do after the long weekend. Where do I start? S.
  14. When I did mine I didn't remove any rivets. I took all the old ply out. Next time I do it, I'm using aluminum checker plate. S.
  15. The only knot I ever use is the improved clinch. I use it for everything. Attaching leaders to braid(clinch to clinch), line to lure...whatever. Everything. I dont have any problems with knots coming undone, ever. The only other knot I use is a snell knot to tie harnesses. Oh, and no fluoro for me. I don't like that stuff. S.
  16. Nice work Brian. That batter looks excellent S.
  17. Honda EU2000 Unit has been bullet proof. My neighbour has a boat access cottage with no hydro and runs the whole place off one. He's got everything you could imagine up there too. Small, light, and super quiet. Great unit. S.
  18. Whats the difference?? Oh, about a hundred things. First of all, its a boat, not the inside of your house.....that's pretty obvious!! I hose my boat down after almost every trip. Its a boat. Its made for water, and to be outside. Its 20 something years old now....still fine. S.
  19. Me neither. I have no issues with any diawa reels. I also have a couple 1000 size Ardent spinning reels that have been fabulous so far. 3 seasons on them, hardwater and spring panfish. They are great. I liked pfleugers too until they fell apart. Salt water smoked em! Never again! S.
  20. 2 keepers, 2 overs, 3 unders on rice from 6-830 last night. Not bad for a quick evening fish. Water is high, weeds were lookin good. Might go again tonight. S.
  21. Yeah, all the bleeding hearts are having a fit because a bear was killed....
  22. Yup, I have 2 in my boat. They are great. Kawartha Battery should be cheaper...think I paid 130 for mine....but you'd have to drive to ptbo. S.
  23. i'm heading out after work. Will let ya know how i make out. Going to rice. S.
  24. Cool. Nice Jake. Congrats. They are the best eating! S.
  25. The boat is old, the steering set up is unique, and would be hard to get any parts for it if you had problems, and I wouldn't risk towing that trailer any distance. Anything can go wrong with a trailer. Springs can snap, spring shackles break, frames crack, bearings fail....you don't want any problems on your vacation. Anything over 40yrs old is bound to have problems sooner than later. S.
