Hey Brian, How's ya gettin on me buddy? I was just like you when I was a youngin. A little rough around the edges, but I was taught RESPECT for people from my parents. Stealing a bike to get home, or causing damage to someone's property, is much different than attacking people in a group with golf clubs and baseball bats. We never did stuff like that! I'm sure you didn't either. When it was "go time" it was fists to cuffs. No weapons involved, and no groups. Just a couple guys "havin atter", and there was always some reason for it. No big deal. You'd come home with a fat lip or a "shiner" and a dent in your ego. We all got over it. My mom would be the one kicking my ass.....the old man, well, he knew what was going on. He always made sure I was kept in line, but knew I was just a kid learning about life. I still feared that man, but he never laid a hand on me. Its called respect. These days, kids are carrying weapons......guns, knives, bats......whatever they can get their hands on......and they're not afraid to use them. I grew up with guns in the house......with ammo fully accessible too. I would never think to use one on a person though........ever!! Hell, I'd be afraid to even touch a gun......and I knew how to use them. I'd get my ass kicked all the way to next tuesday if I ever did!! Something is missing, that's for sure. Whether is the parents or not, I don't know, but its gotta have something to do with it. Kids these days have no repect for anything. Everything is just handed to them....... I know if my kids ever tried to do anything like that, they'd be getting thier asses kicked by "the old man".(me) There is no way they'd ever try anything like that again. And if they did, I'd be the first one to send them to jail!! Just to teach them a lesson. My parents did it to me......and I learned a very valuable lesson!! I never hurt people though......just "raising a little hell" once in a while. Kids will be kids. Its fun to raise a little hell once in a while, we all know that, but when it comes to attacking people with weapons.......something is missing in the parenting I think. No respect for people....or anything for that matter......and no conscience of the damage thier doing. I can't understand how someone can take a baseball bat or golf club to another person, for no real reason? That blows my mind. I hope and pray that I know my kids well enough that I never have to worry about that. I think thats half the problem, the parents of these kids are just happy to have the kids out of their hair, and don't really care what they're up to. Get them a cell phone, a play station, and an Ipod, and the parents have more time to sit on the couch.......I don't think they care enough about the kids to let them know what's right from wrong these days. Maybe the parents still don't know right from wrong? Its gotta start somewhere........all I can do is do my best to keep my kids from going down that road. If they do, I'll be at the fork in the road, to put them back on the right trail! Sinker

I wish they'd put a nuisance designation on these guys. I'd spend LOTS of money on ammo to get rid of a few myself!! Dirty friggen things they are.....Every island on most waters I fish are wrecked by these things!! Sinker

A good lab will retrieve anything you want!! Nice haul!! Sinker

That anchor is gonna hold, thats for sure!! Thats a good little set up for fishing. I fished out of a boat just like that for years. ( is it a sunray?) Have fun, be safe and good fishing!! Sinker

Sorry to dissappoint GCD! I had to scratch the perch off the list for friday. I gotta get some sleep sometime. I'm planning on having my line in the water at 12:00:01 saturday morning......fishing from my dads cruiser. We'll be double anchored, with lights a blazing, and beer a chillin, until we can't stay awake any longer. Then crash for a few hours on board. Once we wake up, we'll be heading back to the marina, where I'll have my 16ft TILLER fishing machine.....then the "real" fishing starts. Mothers day sunday.....but my mom loves whities...... Have fun with ole yeller. She'll prolly out fish ya Sinker

I've had good luck with interstate as well. I have one now that is going into its 7th season. I've also had good luck with nautilus out of CT. I have one of them that is going on 5 seasons, but its not as good as it used to be. Doesn't owe me anything though. Walmart sells Optima's and Energizers.....the energizers were $89 last I saw. I'm not sure what they're like. Sinker

That right there is one of the best posts I've read on this site!! I agree 100%! I live in the country as well.....I still got ripped off........but all the rest is true.....LOL. Sinker

Best thing to do is get off the puter and go look for yourself. Nobody is going to tell you that there is a pool on XXX creek loaded with dropbacks. You'll prolly find the motherload! Sinker

Dam right I would!!! I'm lucky they didnt take my fishing boat. It was right there, ready to go.......with no lock on it. I still can't figure out why they took the 12 footer. No hitch maybe? My lucky day, thats for sure. Sinker

Looks like a center console to me Glen.......prolly why the goose was attacking him
-
Lower sections should still have dropbacks in them. I'd assume water temps are still nice and cold.....so they'll stick it out for a bit yet. Some of my best steelheading has been later in the season......most guys think its over.....meanwhile, I'm fishing a pool in the lower stretches thats loaded with hungry dropbacks. don't forget the marshmallows Sinker

I use a coupler lock on mine, and a chain around the wheel to the frame. After someone stole my little tin can last summer, I've got this place locked up like for knox. Still have no idea why they took the 12fter.......my 16 fter was sitting right beside it, ready to go. Lucky for me, they must have been in a rush or something. Broad daylight.....and we were only gone for a couple hours.......nothing worse than a thief!!! Sinker

I have to ask what your talking about when you mention beads? Is this some new rigging, or is it just a nickname for something else? Never heard of that before......I don't do any great lakes trolling either.....just from charter boats. If its a secret, I won't tell anyone, I promise Sinker

I'd launch at Fee's landing, and head towards the lake from there at a slow troll. ...... .5-1.5 MPH seem to be the magic speed for me.......slower is better this time of year. Cranks work well too if the weeds aren't up too high.....which I suspect they won't be. If you can find fresh green weeds, your in. Spend a bit of extra time in any deeper holes and bottlenecks you come to......good spots to throw a jig around. Good luck, and don't forget the camera!! Sinker

Looks like he had a nice chessy in the boat with him. I would have let the dog have at er....... GABBY......BACK!! Why can't they do that when season is open. Sinker

Nice to meet you Mr. Fairweather Sinker

I keep mine in compost. Just a mix of yard stuff really....leaves and crap I rake up, then mix with a bit of topsoil. Then they go in a rubbermaid bin, in the cold cellar where they thrive, reproduce, and live the happy life. That's all over once pickeral season opens this weekend.... I have worms in there from last spring still... I just picked about 10 dozen in 30 minutes. My lawn is alive with them right now. Sinker

Yes, and yes. My 14ft trailer and my 16ft trailer are no different in length though.....if that helps you any. The boat is wider and longer, but the trailers were the same. I just slid the winch forward and bobs your uncle. Sinker

Yup, I'm jealous!!! Nice trout!! It think I'll go try for some specks right now!! CYA..... Thanks for the report! Sinker

I had a 14 for years.....great little boat......BUT....now I have a 16 deep and wide and can't believe I went all those years with the 14fter. The width, depth and stability doesn't even compare. If its in the budget, get the deep and wide........there is a BIG difference!!! No difference in towing.....I still don't even know its on there. Sinker

Well, I just got off the phone with the MNR. It took them a long time to find me an answer, but here it is.... "The OPS/Fenelon boundary is in a line with Pickeral Point road, across the water to Ken Reid rd." This seems to be a long way from the dam if you ask me, but I guess a boundary is a boundary. Kinda throws a spin on where I wanted to set up for the night fish, but what can ya do. I asked to talk to the local CO, but I was't allowed......haha.......he must be really busy I can't understand why its so far from the dam. The other sanctuaries are less than a KM from the boundaries. I know at the other end of the lake, where the river flows into fenelon falls, its less than a km from the dam. On pigeon river in omemee, its even less again. What gives? I'd love to talk to the local CO........ Sinker

If the injectors fail, they will open up all the way, and give the engine too much oil. Not many cases where injectors fail, and the engine burns up. Billy Bob is right though, you'll use more oil if you mix it manually, than if the injectors are doing it for you. At low RPM's, the injectors don't put out as much oil.......so its a catch 22......you mix it yourself and use more oil than required, or you leak 100ml/4months out of the resevoir. I'd bet that mixing it yourself will use more than 100ml of oil in a season........but I could be wrong. I'd try getting it fixed.......you can prolly do it yourself. Sinker

I've never balanced a trailer tire in my life. We just bought a brand new Yacht Club tandem, and i can't see any weights on the tires. I've never even heard of trailer tires getting balanced...... Sinker

Thats the problem. There are no recent maps that show that boundary with any detail. I have found old maps that show it, but there is no detail whasoever on them. I'll let ya's know what I find out, as soon as I get an answer. Sinker
