Sounds about right to me.....^

I pretty much only look at the exceptions anymore. They are a MUST READ for every body of water.......doesn't matter what the general open seasons are........read the exceptions for the body of water your fishing!!!!! Sinker

Ya, if its the whole hub with the bearing.......better get that fixed ASAP. Your wheel could come right off!!! I've seen it happen right in front of my eyes doing 110 up hwy 115......not a pretty sight to say the least!! Sinker

I've seen that before too. Try connecting a good battery up first..... Did you let your car run for a bit while connected to the boat? Sometimes it takes a few minutes to get enough juice to start up the big motor. My old truck wouldnt take a boost......I had to hook it up to another truck, and let it run for a while first. Then she'd fire right up. It would be a shame to not have your boat ready for the weekend if it was just a battery you needed. Take the batt. out of your vehicle and hook it up direct.......if that doesn't work......take it in. Sinker

I can guarantee my cheap ass rapala will do just as good a job as any expensive knife you can buy.......and more than likely quicker too!!! Its not the knife that makes the fillet. Kinda like its not the boat that catches the fish..... Sinker

Have to postpone instalation of Big Cliff's Docks
Sinker replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
No probs Cliff. I should be able to make it out next sunday.......but I'll have to let you know a little closer to the day. My dad is coming up that weekend, but I'm not sure what his plans are. We'll prolly be around the marina at some point. I'll stop by if we have time. Sinker -
Hey, at least you were fishing. I know its not like being out on the water in your boat, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I hear ya about launching the boat. I know for sure I can launch the boat quicker than I can walk to a shore spot and get set up. So much easier to throw the boat in. Maybe I'm just getting lazy......I dunno.....I do enough walking in the winter on the ice, I deserve a few boat rides to the fish when the ice leaves. I went shore fishing today as well......caught a killer bunch of perch. It wasn't too bad actually. I might do it again. Now go get that boat!! Sinker

Did ya get it yet? She runnin good? Hope she purrs like a kitten. I went thru the same thing a couple years ago with mine. I took it to the only available mechanic, who told me he'd have it done in a week. I didn't get it for 5 weeks, and it still wasn't fixed. By this time, my regular mechanic wasn't so busy, so I took it to him and he had it all fixed up like new in 3 days!!! There is more to the story, but I need a long time to tell it.....LOL. Moral of the story is to find a good mechanic, and stick with him. If I had of waited for my regular guy, I would have had my boat in less time, and it would have been done right the first time. As soon as I told him where I had the work done, he just shook his head!! LOL He looked over the work that was done, and ended up tearing it all apart and redoing it proper........and the final bill was less than what I was charged from the first guy!!! I never did pay the first guy in full and I've never been back ......and never will......and neither will anyone I know/talk to.......and they never sent me a bill for the work they did......LOL. Brutal start to the season that year.......I don't know how you've stayed sane this long without it!!!! Sinker

for the people that didn't get their operator cards yet...
Sinker replied to BFSC Kevin's topic in General Discussion
Atta boy Dan!! I agree. I broke down and did everything by the book though, but I can't afford to pay any fines, and I can't afford to lose my guns or hunting license.........and I don't need the hassles if it ever came down to it. I've never been asked to see my boaters card, or my PAL. Just hunting fishing licenses. The only time the PAL is needed is to purchase ammo, or a new gun. Other than that, nobody wants to see it. Just more rules to help the stupid people from hurting themselves. Sinker -
I use the Rapala knives. I have a small one, and the medium one. Small one gets used the most by far.......bigger one is good for skinning fillets. A good steel is as important as a good knife!! Sinker

This was one of our wedding songs Sinker

I'd say its a greater scaup. Nice pics! Sinker

I have 4 clarus's.......all great rods, I'd recommend them to anyone. I have the med/heavy, and its great for smaller musky baits or bigger bass baits........Also have the med light clarus......my go to rod for everything!! Worth the money, and a lifetime guarantee.... Sinker

I get about 8.3 Km/L out of my Grand Voyager. Somewhere around 12L/100km. Sinker

Well, I launched there. I fished the afternoon......didn't see another boat the whole time we were out. We fished the south shore of the island. Sinker

I picked crappie, but there is a time of year for them all. I can't just pick one! I love them all to death! In a couple weeks it will be pickeral/whities/lakers........then musky........it just keeps going in a vicious circle all year round. Sinker

Crazy eh!! I've never seen the kawartha's this high either. We're very close to record water levels. Not sure what the fishing is going to be like, but I'll be out trying! Sinker

Hey Pop, Don't miss when that big ole tom walks out in front of ya..... Looks like your in for some action!! Sinker

I only use baitcasters for big fish with teeth. Everything else is spinning. I can cast way more accurate with a spinning reel too. Most of my fishing is with 8lb test or lighter, so I stick mainly to a spinning set up. I do own a few baitcasters though......mostly for musky, and/or heavy jigging. I don't troll much, but if I do, its with the caster usually.... Sinker

I thought it wasn't such a good idea to run them out of water? Just a myth? I try to keep mine off out of water, but yesterday, I put it on the trailer and realized it was still turned on......LOL.......gotta get the boat system back down to a science again. I'm still in icefishing mode I think. Mine doesn't show a depth though......just flashes 0.0 Sinker

Nice perch! I fished Virginia Beach on saturday, and water temp was between 48 and 50 degrees.......big difference from the main lake! We did well in 9 FOW. My son has been bugging me all day to go again......I just can't do it. It sure is fun though, eh? Sinker

I'd bet its cold!!! I usually wait until the may 24 for my annual swim in the lake........even then its FREEZING!! I think its gonna be a tough crappie bite next weekend!! If you need a hand with that kind of stuff Cliff, don't be afraid to ask. I'm sure me and the kids would have had a great day helping you set that up!! Same deal for your docks.......I'm ready, able and willing!! Sinker

I think your worrying too much myself. You'll never need to run your TM at full throttle for an hour straight........unless of course the main motor dies, and you need the electric to get back to shore.......lets hope that doesn't happen. I run a single battery to my 55lb minn kota, and I've never run out of juice......even on windy days when you tend to use it on higher power. I used the rubber spacers for mounting mine......it just gives little play for bouncing down the road, and rough water. Its still solid on the boat though.... Sinker
