You won't catch any if you don't try. I hate when people whine about the weather........giddy up......get atter.......its only cold and water........your not gonna melt!! Sinker

prime the engine with the bulb on the fuel line, start the motor, and take off the fuel line. See if it still bogs with the line off. I still think your carbs are blocked. Sinker

I use the seafoam/merc power tuner to de-carbon the motor. It just cleans out any carbon build up in the cylinders and exaust. Your problem sounds like a fuel issue. If the engine worked fine the other two times you had it out this year, I'd say you picked up some crud from the bottom of your gas tank, and its clogged a jet in the carb. Did you check the fuel filter? It may be gummed up, and restricting the fuel flow to the carb. If that's clear, its something in the carb that's blocked. I don't touch carbs, but there might be someone else here than can help you out. I have a 93 mariner......essentially the same engine......I change the filter every spring, just because its easy. Never had a carb problem with it though..... Sinker

Maybe a "Tresspassers will be Shot" sign would have saved the landowner some headaches? At least the tresspassers would have a heads up to run a little faster.....lol. Sinker

Its starving for fuel one way or another. Could be fuel line, carb, fuel filter.....etc. Sinker

We got them about a mile and a half out from Jacksons point. You can't miss the pack of boats. Depending how fast your going.....maybe 5-10min boat ride. Green/black meegs/badboy type jigs were working better than the williams on saturday morning. Just a gentle lift off bottom......no need to reef it. Sinker

Pick your days on simcoe according to the weather. Head north out of sutton and find the pack of boats.......t

Thanks GCD! I didn't ferget the batteries......they just didn't want to work for me. They were in the charger the whole night before, and when I put them in the camera, I got the dreaded flashing red light for low batteries. I tried to take a pick of the lake as we got to it, and it wouldn't even turn on .....I was just a tad miffed at that point. They're energizer rechargeables, and I've only had them a couple months. They stink!! Sinker

A little cold never hurt anyone. Just brings out the canuck in a person. Keeps the bugs away too..... Sinker

Headed out on simcoe saturday morning. We caught a bunch, and got off the water for 11am. Then headed home, and loaded up for some brookie fishing up at the cottage. Got up there just at dark, lit the fire and cracked a bottle of gibsons finest.....ahh....life is good A wood pecker woke me up, just as it was getting light. Got the coffee going, started breaky, and loaded the gear in the van. Got to the lake at 6:30. This is when I realized my camera batteries were dead It was just gorgeous when we got to the water. Put the electric on the boat, and started trolling with worm harnesses. Took a while to get a pattern going.....with no graph, but we figured it out. Started with the little guys. We got a few of them in the 10-12" range.....then I got a real rod bender. Yee haw.....its go time I had taken my batteries out of the camera, and put them in my warm inside pocket to maybe get a picture or two out of the camera.....well i only got one pic, but its of a beauty 17" brookie. We lost a bunch of fish, and caught a few more smaller guys, then I hooked into the mother of all brookies. This guy took me for a ride.....and ended up snapping me off, right at the boat. I had a good battle with him, and had a real nice look.....but we said our goodbye with one last head shake at the boat. It was easily 20",and had to be at least 4lbs........I almost cried He'll be there for next time. Ended up getting a few more of the 10-12"ers, and I landed one more at 16". I wish my batteries were good , I would have had some great shots.....it was a beauty day out there. Overall a great couple days on the water, with a good bud. Sinker

Sounds like a fun day. Glad to see you guys got some fish too!! Congrats to Syndey on her firsts!! I'm usually docked there as well. Maybe we'll meet up there sometime!! Once musky season opens, my boat pretty much stays there until ice up. Sinker

I wouldn't doubt that Cliff. There have been a few spotted around Janettville as well. My buddy has some property there, and we've seen the tracks. They are one elusive critter, so seeing one is like being struck by lightening. You have a trail camera? Might be a good time to set it up! Sinker

I'd just snag them in the face Sinker

Why not get a new custom cover? If your going to spend the money, that's what I'd recommend. I've never had luck with covers. They last a couple years, and they need to be replaced. Custom is the way to go. Sinker

STurgeon isn't that much further than scugog. Id prefer to fish it over the bog anyday. Right in lindsay, the locks open this weekend. Should be pretty good there. Same with Fenelon falls locks.....good there too. Sinker

I have good luck with berkley power nuggets stuffed in my tubes.....lol. A Berkley power minnow or similar will work just as well. Load up on plastics. Sinker

seriously, a minnow is my first choice. After that, any thing goes. I've even run them with worm harnesses off them for inland 'bows. Sinker

I run the manufacturers reccommended oil in my Mariner. I find it burns much cleaner, and doesn't carbon up the engine at all......hardly. It costs more, but I think its better oil. If I use the cheap stuff(moto master, no name etc.), there is a killer cloud of blue smoke coming out the exaust, and a slick on the water. With the Merc oil, I don't get any of that, and the smoke that does come out isn't as thick....or blue. I buy it in a 5gal jug, usually once a season. Last one I got for $50 off a buddy.......that's cheap. Usually its around $35/4litres. Sinker

If you asked a panel of 10 CO's, you'd get some different answers. The CO just enforces what he thinks is right.........

Do you have a separate ground to your lights on the trailer? If not, run one, and I bet they work. I had the same thing happening with mine, it drove me nuts. I bought new harnesses, replaced wires.....everything....it was a stupid ground. All lights worked, except running lights. Sinker

Party fishing is another story. Just so you know. The CO was standing over my shoulder as I bonked that whitie on the head and added it to my limit.......he told me it was "close enough".........I asked him first. If its hooked in the side or the fin or the tail.......then sure....release it. Close to the mouth......you make the call.......I keep the odd one.....so what? Call the CO.....you won't get an answer anyways!! Sinker
