I made it to 5 mins into the 3rd OT.....and BAM.....my flippen power went out!!! I had to run out to the car to listen to it on the radio.....LOL. GO PENS!!! Sinker

I put normal sta-bil in every tank of gas, in every 2 stroke I own. I've never seen this stuff before, but I've never had any problems whatsoever regarding fuel. It doesn't sit long in my tank though. Sinker

I"d say its still going up.....

Glenn, your 40 should troll down fine. Mine does. If I need to go slower than 1.5mph, I use the electric. New angler, your going to want an electric. IMO, you'll get more use out if it than you would with a small gas kicker. A gas kicker is great if you plan on doing a lot of trolling, but an electric will serve more than one purpose. I'd sugggest a power drive unit, with the 18ft cable on the foot pedal. That way once the electric is in the water, you can operate it from anywhere on the boat, and you can also set it to go straight, and steer with the main motor for trolling. Sinker

New Angler, 50:1 mix= 20ml of outboard oil for each litre of gas. Just to save you the math.....LOL. A little more will be ok, but never use less. The only other oil you need is lower unit gear oil. If it was winterized, it should be full and good to go, but I'd check it to make sure......its cheap insurance. There will be 2 screws on the foot of the motor.....the top one is a vent, the bottom one is for filling. Take both screws out, let the oil drain out. Fill it from the bottom hole until it comes out the top hole, then put the top screw back in....while the bottom hole is still plugged by the oil jug. Once the top screw is in, quickly take the oil jug away, and put the bottom screw in.......good to go. To start it, prime the fuel bulb on the line, pull the choke, and turn it over. It will most likely start, then stall. Turn the choke off, and turn it over again......it should start. You may have to give it some throttle to keep it running at first, being an older motor. Sinker

Oh man.....I hope you washed the curse off that thing!!! Your more than welcome to join me anytime bud, you've got my number!! Did you pick up one of those lucky spinner baits yet Sinker -
I haven't had good luck with early season musky. This year I have a new game plan......shallow. I do very good mid-late summer in the deeper summer spots, but I don't fish shallow too often, thats my downfall. I was out today for a few hours scouting around to see whats going, and where the fish are. Listen to what Lew said......he's bang on from what I saw today. BTW, the water was 59-62 on the surface, but the weeds are lacking still. Not too bad shallow, but on the deeper weed lines, its hard to find a real edge yet. I'll be fishing shallow, with my lucky spinnerbait. Its already on my rod ready to go Did I mention I'm fricken PUMPED!!! Sinker

There is a place on Hwy. 2 east of bowmanville, west of the 115, on the north side. I don't have a number, but they are easy to find. Sinker -

Got the hitch on......good to go! -
Get some braid. Small diameter, but strong. Get it in the same diameter as the mono your using, and it will be close to 20lb test. Even just a 12" piece as a leader will be better than 4lb mono. 4lb for pike is just asking for it....LOL. Why not just up your mono a little? Sinker

Nice report, I enjoyed reading that. Glad you finally got your eyes. It'll get easier now that the ball is rolling. Sinker

I've never had any issues with cabelas. Even on large items, I still seem to save a little. The beauty is they have what I want, and the quality is top notch. I don't get much fishing gear there, but almost all my hunting gear comes from them. Its always at my door within a week. Sinker

Lower unit gear oil is probably the cheapest part of maintaining any boat motor.......why cheap out there? A bottle costs like 8 bucks......and fills the bottom end 3-4 times...........I though I was a cheap dude!! LOL Sinker

Hey Big Cliff, I was going to turn the boat around and come by your dock when I saw you out there. Then I looked at the sky and figured we'd better try and get a drift in before the rain came.......then stop by. We got lucky with the rain, and ended up running out of time for a visit. I"m sure we'll be seeing each other a few more times in the near future I'm off to my BIL's place now........he's the metal guy.......shouldn't be a problem getting this hitch on. Thanks for the offer!!! As for Cliff and Carole's motor......it was just little choke issue. I knew what the problem was when he described what was happening in chat. Rather than try to explain it in chat, I figured it would be easier to just go over and have a look. I got over there, primed the bulb......didn't touch the choke, gave it a pull and it fired right up.......LOL. The choke setting was too rich, and was flooding it out. I didn't do a thing......LOL.......seems to be running great now! It was a great afternoon on the water though......great way to turn around a "rainy day". Can't wait until next weekend The real fishing starts saturday morning Sinker -
