Thanks for the report. Too bad you didn't hook up, but from what I hear about the French, its tough. If you do get one, its a hog. Can't beat the scenery though!! If your interested in fishing the kawartha's for ski's sometime, shoot me a pm. I'm on the water every weekend no matter what. Sinker

Does that money really go towards maintaining the launch? I see them take the cash, and put it in the register just like all the rest of the money. There is no ticket given to you, and no way to keep track of who has paid, and who hasn't. I call Bull! If they don't come and ask me for the $5, I'm not paying it.........show me what they do with it, and I might change my attitude towards it. That launch was free for years and years.......now all of a sudden you have to pay? I also notice BJs has nice new docks in......hmmmmmm Also, haven't seen any changes to the ramp! I always go into the tackle shop, and spend my money there, but if I don't get asked for launching, I won't pay it. Sinker

As you should if no one is around........

I like to do a few solo missions myself, but fishing with a partner is always fun too. There is just something about being out there, early in the morning, nobody else around.....all the fish to myself....that I really like. That is how I unwind from a tough week/day. I'll head out solo, and spend a few hours fishing by meself. Its a total relaxation thing for me. I fish with someone else more times than not, but a good solo fishing trip is always good. Sinker

If I left my markers out over night, I'd expect them to be gone the next day. Sinker

That's the worste advice I've read on here. There is no price on happiness. If your not happy, get out now. Its easier to get it over with sooner than later. You'll get over it, and you'll both be happier. To keep her around and be unhappy for years to come is just nonsense, and what a coward would do!! Sinker

I always take an extra second with the little ones. I find the big ones are more lazy...the "teenagers" just flip out and go ape shiite on ya......be careful!! I have a bud who took a bunch of stitches when a musky that was on a crankbait flipped out at boatside, got a hook in his arm just below his elbow.....and the fish took off.....ripping a gash almost to his wrist!! I like my spinnerbaits with single hooks for that reason alone. If you get them, you've usually got them good, and its an easy release. Sinker

Good luck with that!!!! I'm one concession south of them, and I wouldn't go in there for spark plugs!!! I got royally screwed around by them.......I would never go back, and I tell everyone I know the same!!!! Sinker

Haha.....thats my lucky musky shirt. I have a bunch of pics of me with musky, while wearing that shirt. I figured I might as well wear it on the first day.....didnt' work though....LOL. Dammit.... Sinker

Nope, your right. They're out of season, you can't snare them south of the french river, and trapping them in the city would be a big no-no. You risk getting someones pet, or a skunk etc in the trap.....and a hefty fine if you were ever caught. Sinker

Ditto......stupid bass......always grabbing my line....they are a PITA.

Lucky son of a b...... LOL My mission for the day was to get you your first. Mission accomplished. It took 12 hours on the water , under scorching sun , non stop casting and a couple short trolls between spots. PD is a trooper.. ...most people would have given up long before we did. Even I had a couple little "rests" during the day......PD kept on going. He even went swimming to get back a snagged lure.....I should have taken a pic. It was hilarious!! Anyways, your welcome back anytime man. The pleasure was all mine. I'd go out musky hunting with you anytime. Its hard to find someone who can put in a whole day on the water, in those conditions, and still want more. Congrats on the first of many.......just too bad I couldn't catch a dam thing!!! We'll do it again for sure.... Sinker

Can anyone recommend a Boat Mechanic???(Oshawa/Lindsay)
Sinker replied to redfin's topic in General Discussion
McLarens marine. Its on #35, north of Lindsay. Larry is the only person, other than me, that touches my engine. He's always done a great job, and gets it done fast. I've tried numerous places from durham to Lindsay, and they are the only ones who keep me coming back. A family run operation, thats been going for a long, long time. Just google them for the number. A little motor maintenance, fishing, and good times.

I must have just missed you guys at the launch. I went out around 6:00......or so. I didn't notice your vehicle, but I wasn't really paying attention either....LOL. Fishing was slow, we got 2 keeper eyes, and one musky follow to the boat.......plus a million dinky perch. Thanks for the report! Sinker -
Nice job guys!! We put one in the boat, but had lots of follows that didn't want to commit. It'll only get better now Thanks for the report! Sinker
-
I'm sure we'll be seeing each other then Sinker

I would gladly show you how/where to catch the eyes on sturgeon. Its easy once you get to know where/when to go. If your heading up this way, shoot me a pm. I might just be on the water that day anyways. I'm docked up the road from Cliff. Sinker

I'll be chucking an orange and black 3/4 oz spinner bait with a 5" orange grub trailer first thing.....its already tied on. Something about orange makes musky mad.......I like it when they get mad I'm freakin pumped!!!! 5 more hours till season opens...... Sinker

Oh I'm sure he'll survive......I bet he never forgets it though.....LOL. Watch out for the 'shine!! Those boys make up some crazy sheeyit...... Sinker
