  1. Nice one.......what did you catch it on?
  2. I'm on my way to the one tonight.
  3. Yeah, thats what I thought you were going to do. Just cut the old one off, and re-attach a new one the way that has been described here. Should take you about 15 mins. I always carry new ends in my boat kit. They fail after a while. Sinker
  4. No need to re-wire the trailer, unless you want to. All you need is a new plug end. Its not a big deal. I broke one at the launch yesterday, came home and put a new one on in a matter of minutes. I seem to go through one a season. They don't last all that long if you use them a lot. If your lights are giving you trouble, or the wires are corroded, then I would consider re-wiring the whole trailer. They also have magnetic lights that work well. Sinker
  5. You guys don't have to go far for crappies out of Bewdley. They're calling for a SW wind at 25km for saturday, that wind can whip up that lake pretty good. I wouldn't go too far in a rental. They're 14fters with 9.9's. Stick to the Bewdley area, you'll see all the boats fishing crappie on the north shore. Stick to that area. I would bring an extra length of rope to add to your anchor line, the ones supplied are too short for a wind like that. Nothing worse than finding fish, and not holding with your anchor. Sinker
  6. Just twist them together.......and use LOTS of tape Guaranteed your gonna have to replace it again. I usually go through one or two a season. Sinker
  7. I already went through the inbetween season down here. 4th trip in the boat today Sinker
  8. I would consider a 50ft rope useless. Mine is 150ft, and I have another 75fter if I need it..........and I've used it several times. You don't need a heavy anchor, you just need one that will hold onto the type of bottom your on. The chain will make a huge difference. Sinker
  9. B J TACKLE5103 RICE LAKE DR, Bewdley K0L1E0, ON p: 905-797-2632 f: 905-797-2632 There is another place, I forget the name, but the phone number is 797-boat These are right in Bewdley. Sinker
  10. Make sure you have some 1/8 oz jigheads and 3" white berkely powerbaits. Sinker
  11. Its a bad time of year to swamp your boat, that's for sure. I hope they find the guy. Sinker
  12. Those concrete docks could very well be under water. I don't know for sure, I just know the water is really high right now. Same as every year. Bring tubes and floats. That's all you'll need. Pink and white is good, red/black is also good. Look for the crowds of boats......you'll see them Sinker
  13. Your good to go where your planning on going. You'd be way up stream of the dam. The sanctuary is downstream. Most people go by the old rail trussles there, but the actual boundary is an invisible line that runs across the bay. I've never seen it enforced. If your between the dam and the old rail bridge, your in the sanctuary IMO. Good luck. Sinker
  14. If its aluminum, you'll want to prime it first. Take it down to bare metal, clean it with acetone, prime it with a self etching primer, and have atter with the tremclad. Sinker
  15. That report made me smile Ryan. She's a natural bud! Good luck with the new arrival.....hopefully he'll make his way out soon!!! Sinker
  16. Thanks for all this info guys, I appreciate it. I'll be at the port hope meeting, hope to see you there. I might even hit the one in oshawa too....just for kicks. A buddy of mine was at the one in Coboconk and said there was a great turn out, and lots of good information exchanged. Sinker
  17. Make sure your trailer is hooked up to the vehicle before you try it. Sometimes mine won't ground unless I roll it a few feet in the drive way, all hooked up. There is a break thru the trailer reviever/ball. Sounds like a ground, but could also be a fuse now that you have nothing working. Check those too. And replace all the bulbs...... Sinker
  18. I got stuck in a lightening storm while icefishing a couple years ago.......at Roches point. It was raining a little......no real biggy, when all of a sudden.......FLASH.........BOOM! We were a good ways out, and walking. Its not a nice feeling being helpless like that, but it just came out of nowhere. We left..... I've had a few crazy boat rides too. Thanked god for GPS a few times. Sinker
  19. There have been a few reports of Atlantics this weekend. That one is a beauty!! Sinker
  20. Geeze....what took ya so long? I've had mine out 3 times already!! Sinker
  21. Sinker

    Got it!

I dunno. If I took a buddy to one of my spots on private property, that I had gained permission for, and then he turned around and asked for and recieved permission, I'd be a little ticked off.......no?? Sinker
  22. I've got a 16ft starcraft thats been pounded on for the last 12 years. Not a problem, not a leak. The extra money is worth it IMO. Sinker
  23. As soon as a season opens, I'll be the first guy around with commorant decoys I think I'd really like the splash they'd make when you drop them at 30 yds. I bet if you set up on an island, and put decoys up in the trees, you'd kill a lot of them. I'm in.
  24. Roy has it right, you need an anchor OR paddles. I always have both on board, and an electric. Make sure your light floats and it has good batteries. If it doesn't work, it won't pass. Haved fun with the new ride........there is always something else that you "need" for a boat. Sinker
  25. Who's the thawin white hoser??
