  1. PPFFFTT.......... ..........its not even a TILLER
  2. Did someone say salt cod on a bun?
  3. The ball shouldn't matter really. I use red fish shaped ones and you always get a few that come to check them out, but don't bite. Leader length is hit and miss, you just have to keep switching it up until something works for you. The hum of the cable tells me I'm going the right speed. I like the hum. For lakers/splake you want to be going fairly slow. Say 2-2.5mph. Vary your speed if you have them chasing and not hitting. I find if I run a cheater, that's the one that gets the lakers for some reason. My lure right off the ball hardly ever gets them.......but that's just me and the lakes I fish. What are you running for lures? That might make a difference. Some days its all about colour, some days its speed, some days its the direction of your troll.......so many variables, its hard to get them all right all the time. S.
  4. Yeah, them too
  5. No atlantics......just ho's and bows. Fun day for sure, the kids had a blast! S.
  6. Good stuff Mike!!! You gotta love it man. My son is getting better than me lately! S.
  7. I'll PM you my address
  8. That's no good at all. I'd be taking that back for sure. Give me a brand new motor TYVM. S.
  9. I tie my own stops out of 50lb power pro. I find it works the best. Second best is 12lb mono. There is a sweet spot in a bobber stop set up. You want it on there tight so it doesn't move on you, but not so tight that it damages your line when you slide it. I find if you melt the ends of the knot off, and leave them long enough that you can get ahold of them, you can re-tighten the knot if it comes loose, and the melted ends won't unravel on you. I'm a slip float junkie. S.
  10. Try throwing a jerk bait at night off your dock, you might be surprised at what you'll catch. Slow retrieve is the key........real slow. They always hit on the pause, and usually close to shore. I'm surprised your not into more eyes out there, I've been hammering them all season out of rice. S.
  11. How many batteries are in the boat now? Im assuming just one cranking? If it was me, I'd add another battery, with a two bank charger. Run all your toys off one battery, crank with the other, and just plug in the charger at night. The proper way to do it is to get the switch and converter, but thats gonna cost $$. S.
  12. Ha.......haven't sunk yet!!
  13. John Prine is one of my all time favourites. I was born and raised on his stuff. I find it amazing how many people have never heard of him, but when you break out the flat top and do one of his tunes around the campfire, it gets everyones attention. The man see's and sings about things most people would never notice, but we've all experienced in some way or another. A true legend in my eyes. This one is a favourite to me....... Frig, I think I"m gonna pull out the guitar and have a little jam now S.
  14. I wear mine when I"m alone.....usually. In the fall duck hunting I wear a full floater suit, as well as in the spring........but that's mainly because its cold out, and I like to be warm. My kids wear thiers all the time, and if they're in the boat, I wear mine........usually. Its all about common sense. My grandfather spent 60 years on the north atlantic. Couldn't swim to save his life, and has never had a PFD on. He's still alive and well for some reason? You can't legislate common sense. Stuff happens, life goes on. Stupid people do stupid things. Its a shame sometimes, but, people get whats coming to them. S.
  15. Right. Just keep an eye on it and you'll be fine. Your going to want a really calm day to fish a float that deep though. S.
  16. Looks like a great day HF! Looks like your daughter kicked your butt ............that's a good thing S.
  17. Nice job.......that's a sweet fish! S.
  18. Yep, get the 8. Its not working as hard as the 6, so doesn't burn as much gas when towing or carrying a load. Get the 6 and you'll be wishing you had the 8, I guarantee it! S.
  19. Go to your local NAPA dealer and get a can of seafoam. Mix it about 2oz/liter of gas, and let it burn that for a while. Take it for a good long ride at full throttle. That will clean A LOT of crap out of your fuel system. Be prepared to see a lot of smoke. S.
  20. Nice fish for sure. I use a cradle solo too, but I can fit one side of it in my rod holders that run the side of my boat. I need one hand to hold the other side open though.......and one hand on the rod. Its tricky, but doable. S.
  21. Yeah, something sounds fishy there George. I have a 40 tiller and I can steer it with one finger at idle or wide open. I'd get it looked at, might be something going on in there, and your warranty should cover it. S.
  22. I had no doubt this would all work out just fine. My niece had the same thing, and she's been a handful ever since. There's no stopping her.........she's 6 now, no problems since. Its amazing the things they can do at Sick kids.......blows my mind!! S.
  23. Your bearings are most likely OK, but your inside seal is gone. Its not really that bad, it just allows water in your bearings, which can/will result in rust to your bearings, causing them to fail. I just did mine about a month ago for the same reason. I have no idea about your axle/hub set up though, a picture would make it much easier. s.
  24. Wow.......crazy stuff Beans! How did the marina make out? By the looks of things, that metal might be from thier covered slips! I'm glad my boat isn't there this year!! S.
  25. Pretty cool Terry. How is the visibility in the kawartha lakes? Have you tried it? I know there are times when I have a good school of eyes right under my boat........it would be cool to see what the heck they're doing down there!!! S.
