  1. You lose that bet!! I'll go double or nothing that you do though.......... The guy can get any tattoo he wants for all I care. I was just saying it was kinda cheesy to get a copy done IMO. I don't have any tatts, but I've spent a long time building my own design. One of these days I'll actually get it done. Its something thats means something to me, not something I saw in a magazine!!!! S.
  2. There is really only one way to find out That net is plenty big enough. I find I can release them at the side of the boat quicker than putting them in the net anyways. Maybe not a 50"er, but anything up to say 42" just gets the hooks popped/cut at boatside. S.
  3. I just installed a set last week, and teh cover also goes right over it no problem. s.
  4. If I had those gunnels, I'd be installing tracks on them for sure. The board works ok, but the tracks are the way to go. S.
  5. A copied tattoo??? Thats kinda cheesy isn't it?? If your gonna spend your hard earned money on a tatt, at least think something up that's original!! S.
  6. I don't understand the big secret either. If your worried about pike in the lake, set up a kill derby and we'll all come out for a fry I'm going to guess its rice though, just for fun. s.
  7. I worked for myself for 12 years before coming to my senses. Went back to school at 30, took a 3 year environmental program and took a full time permanent position the day school ended. There is a lot of compitition just out of school, but my previous EXPERIENCE got me hired! I actually enjoy going to work now. S.
  8. I'd flat line a worm harness about 100ft back. Silver hammered colorado blades, red beads. Always gets them. One 1/8oz egg weight about 18" from the spinner and just let 'er troll.Gotta go real early, or stay till dark. S.
  9. I had the samem problem with my 40 mariner this season as well. I replaced the gas line, put a full can of seafoam in the 25L fuel tank, and ran the hell out of it. She's running like a top now. Its a good idea to change your plugs once you run the seafoam too, you'll be surprised at the amount of crap the seafoam will burn out of your motor. Don't worry about the smoke, its doing its job if there is a lot of it. If you don't run the motor a lot, I'd add the reccomended amount of seafoam in every tank of fuel, just as a stabilizer. I don't do that anymore, only because my fuel doesn't sit long at all. I'm on the water at least twice a week. S.
  10. Nice bog ski's boys!! S.
  11. Everything to do with downrigging is expensive!!!
  12. It must have been feeding on the fleas I figured there would be fish 40+ this year, but not in week one. S.
  13. Raf, your boat is light dude. You don't need anything crazy to tow it. A V-8 is just burning dollars for nothing. My little 2.5l engine makes as much power as most V-8's anyways. I have no problem towing my rig (which is bigger than yours, and heavier) with the forester. The only time I feel it on there is if there is gale force cross winds.Hills don't even make it grunt!! Trust me when I say I put on A LOT of miles towing my trailer around. The only problems I've had are with the trailer itself.....never the tow vehicle. I've even towed a 17ft princecraft w/ 90 with the forester. No problem.......it was almost 3000lbs. I wouldn't tow it a long distance, but 50km was a breeze. I'm not saying to go buy a subaru, just saying you don't need anything heavy duty to tow your little aluminum around. Especially where you live. I live in the country and put on a lot of miles, so the V-8 days are done!! I've put 56K on mine in less than a year..........just sayin. I've put 160,ooo on the forester with absolutely no issues at all. Oil changes, brakes, tires and a reccomended timing chain replacement since new. I'd wager it will go anywhere your jeep will too S
  14. I did the exact same thing last year, two days before the derby. Mine was 42x27. I never did officially weigh it, I was too scared to LOL It would have been in the top 3 for the first week!!! I'm another tiller bigwater troller. Gotta love it!! What did you get it on? S.
  15. My forester XT hauls around my 16ft alum w/ 40 tiller no problem. It will take you to some pretty crazy offroad spots too.....with ease. I thought it was too small when I got it, but so far, so good. I also have a wife, 2 kids and a 90lb lab that ride in it daily. S.
  16. yep, go get a new fuel line, and a can of seafoam. S.
  17. I"d reccomend Ben from BJ's bait and tackle. They have an awesome tackle shop as well as brand new 4 stroke mercs on 16ft Lund boats. Good guys, I won't go anywhere else. They're in Bewdley. S.
  18. I was going to invite you out, but that sounds contagious S.
  19. I still think that new boat is cursed!!! Me and my son did a troll out of veiw lake yesterday evening from 7:30 till 9. Just slow trolling worm harnesses off the deep weed edges. Trolling 1.3-1.5MPH along the drop. We put 5 keepers in the boat, and released 2 more. S.
  20. Time for a Subaru!!! I launch my 16fter at some craZy ass launches with my forester!! I will not pay to launch my boat!! s.
  21. They're all good, you just have to pick one and fish it. S.
  22. Rice will be fine. There are enough of those 12"ers around for next year, and if you think all the slot fish will get caught, your crazy.........sorry. I'm getting a lot of over slot fish out of there too, they're safe as well. There are enough protected fish in that watershed, to last for years. As long as this years spawn went OK, I can't see where your concern is?? I think it will benifit the rest of the kawartha's, the tri lakes in particular. Most of the guys fishing were keeping the small eyes, because that's all they could catch. At least now they're somewhat protected. Your beef with Balsam makes no sense either. Is there a lack of fish in there?? I don't get it. S.
  23. Hell yeah, that's my dream rig!!! S.
  24. I get all my outboard work done at McLarens Marine on #35, just south of HB cycle. They've always treated me very well, and get things fixed fast. S.
  25. My go to is an Epiphone. I also have a washburn that I like to play alot....kinda like my beat around guitar. I got both of them for around $400 new, years ago. S.
