  1. Dana White is not happy with Anderson right now. Frankie Edgar fought an awesome fight. I had said leading up to this that Edgar would be Penn's best challenger at 155 but I still thought Penn would take it. Excellent job by Frankie!
  2. I personally dont throw tubes on anything less than 7' I even have two 7'6 rods to throw them on. I use 15lbs power pro with a fluoro leader usually. As for reels, you cant go wrong with a CI4, even a regular stradic. Rods, there are a ton of options. St. Croix Avid, Shimano Crucial, the G Loomis Bronzeback in a 7'4M is a wicked tube rod. Even BPS new CarbonLite series has some decent rods for a round 119.99, and BPS Johnny Morris series for around 200 are amazing rods.
  3. I would agree to start with mono if you've never used a baitcaster, just until you get confident with it. You dont want to waste 20 bucks on a spool of braid and have it all tangle on you. Personally, I love Power Pro. I have used several braids out there and Power Pro is my favourite. That being said, the old owners of Power Pro (before they sold it to Shimano) just started a line called Spider Thread. Not Spider Wire, its different stuff. Very tough line, doesnt fade as much as any other braid and is the most limp braid I've ever seen. I've spooled a few rods with it for this season. We'll see how it goes.
  4. lol @ "surprisingly low yields"
  5. I've had these ones favourited for a while. Nadine!
  6. I love a good beer battered bluegill. I agree that bluegill/pumpkinseed are better than crappie. Its a nice sweet meat, especially out of cold water.
  7. nice!
  8. nice! The 10th photo is awesome
  9. I've gotta try me some of that
  10. lol. I use Power Pro on 90% of my setups and wouldnt change a thing
  11. I've stopped posting steelhead and brook trout reports all together. Not worth the hassle for me anymore.
  12. PM me, we'll talk
  13. I think the majority of us are "float fishing" not "fly fishing" The reels look similar but are used for a totally different purpose although a lot of us drift flies under floats. You can do it with spinning gear too. Definitely worth it if the conditions are right
  14. If Mir can make Lesnar turtle up and look away, he is in for a world of hurt against Carwin... just sayin
  15. Brock turtles when he gets hit, not a smart thing to do against Carwin. Hard to say how that fight goes... Mir drop down in weight? Hell no, he'll be in the top 5 Heavyweights in the UFC for a long time.
  16. It was good having you out this winter, lets do the smalljaw thing soon!

  17. I'll often listen to standup comedy rather than music. Louis CK is a favourite
  18. BPS does not do warranty on Loomis product
  19. The kimura wasnt locked in properly, he never had the shoulder isolated, he needed to lift it upwards and in closer to the body. The armbar though, I dont know how he didnt tap
  20. Last I heard Rocky wasnt doing MinnKota anymore, I could be wrong. Excellent guy to work with though, I've dealt with him many times and have nothing bad to say
  21. Tell that to Nogueira Cain has excellent striking and puts together great combinations. He may not be a power puncher but he is an excellent striker.
  22. How is hitting a ball with a piece of wood a sport? How is kicking a ball into a net the size of a canadian tire a sport? MMA has athletes that train harder than almost any other sport, there are so many aspects of the sport to train.
  23. Elite strikers are never elite strikers in mma because there's too many other aspects of the game to worry about. When Yvel and Cro Cop were in K1 they were incredible, in Pride they were also very good but how many ground fighters did Pride really have? Japanese promotions are about entertainment, not sport, you get carded for a lack of action now and wrestling is frowned upon. It's a different game. I would hardly even call Dos Santos an elite striker. He's an excellent boxer, but would not do great against an elite boxer and we havent even seen him throw a kick that I can recall. And Kongo, I wouldnt call him an ELITE striker but he is an excellent striker. You need to look at the Buentello fight from Kongo's point of view. He's fight a one dimensional guy and he is coming off of 2 straight losses. Another loss could put him out of the UFC and with 4oz gloves, one punch could send him packing. He chose to fight a smart fight against Buentello. I'd have wrestled him too.
