  1. how deep were u fishin ?
  2. I have the MNR Crimestoppers logged into my cell phone, I cant stand poaching! Which is also why I'm at Fleming College studying to be a C.O.
  3. So how dang thick is the ice !?!?! haha
  4. I throw artificials 99% of the time anyways. Occasionally when ice fishing I will use a spreader, or tip a small spinner with a worm when trout fishing. Other than that, i dont really have to worry about it. But the situation still sucks.
  5. I'll bet that little kid regrets letting that big whale jump over the rock wall now huh ?? Willy is a man eater thanks to his antics.
  6. Hey, Does anyone have any up to date ice conditions for Little Lake in Barrie ? I'm away at college but I'm gonna be back in Barrie for the weekend, and I'd rather stay away from the Barrie marina. Thanks for any responses. Steve EDIT- and by the way if anyone knows the ice has at least 4 inches and wants to venture out with me, let me know, always lookin for people to fish with.
  7. Man oh man oh man, I cannot wait for ice on cooch. I cannot wait for ice anywhere. I have so many places I wanna fish right now. I'm not sure if my first Cooch trip this year will be pike or perch ?? I'll figure it out when the time comes I guess.
  8. I hope its safe soon. I go to college in Lindsay and the bog, which is usually buzzbait territory for me, will be my arctic lair.
  9. hows the fishin been down in the marina ??
  10. same man, im so stoked. what time u get off school on Thursday? I wanna head back to Barrie ASAP.
  11. If this cold weather keeps up, then it's possible. We need to hope for super cold nights, no snow, and no wind. Check with local hut operators for ice thickness before you venture out. If it's not good, then Cook's Bay and KEmpenfelt Bay should be good by then.
  12. that lake gets windy very easily. Much like Erie and Rice Lake, without the size of course, it runs East to West, it is a long lake, so any time you get a decent breeze from the East or West, that lake will get rough.
  13. Well I just heard from my operator (Grumpy Fishermen) that there is about 8 inches right now, and that we will be a go for our weekend. You gotta remember though, that the bungalows weigh a lot more than a day hut, so thats probably why they were cancelled.
  14. Cook's Bay is completely frozen over now, and Kempefelt Bay froze over last night. The ice is still not safe though. If this cold keeps up, you'll probably be okay to fish on the 27th. But please check with hut operators and bait shops before venturing out. Hopefully the ice will be good!
  15. Currently, I am booked to be in North Bay that weekend, but if it falls through, count me in. I'll let some people know for sure, being from Barrie we're not far away and its for a good cause.
  16. The West side of the lake is definitely easier to fish. But if you like flippin jigs into thick stuff, you can get some big largemouth in the east end.
  17. Once again, thanks guys. I always appreciate good photos, so I always like to share mine, lets see everyone elses favourite photos from 2006.
  18. I fished Canal a bunch of times last year, and it was the same results every time. Throw spinnerbaits literally in the middle of the lake, catch a mix of pike and bass. Throw soft plastics, catch a mix of pike and bass. Fish up shallow, catch a mix of pike and bass. Those are your two main species.
  19. couldnt ask for better news! bring on Mrs. Walleye !!
  20. I'll be out by the Manitoulins
  21. Thanks everyone!
  22. Hey, Anyone on here from North Bay area? I have a trip to Nipissing booked for Jan 26-28. Anyone have current ice conditions? I'm hoping this trip is a go. Thanks, Steve
  23. I was looking to get down to Quinte this winter. I'm new to the whole ice fishing scene, where would I even begin to look for walleye on the Bay ?
  24. CRAZY! I've only fished in the ocean one time and that was in Cozumel, Mexico. We went deep sea fishing for dolphin. it was a blast!
  25. Hey All, I'm new to the board and like most of you, I'm waiting for the ice to form.
