Still much better to be in a floater suit with a .450 rating for hypothermia protection than a simple life jacket. Most people that fall into cold water don't die from the hypothermia it's the drowing that kills you first. stay safe!

For the last few years’ in the fall, Lloyd from U & Me Guide Service would send a PM and see if I would like a spot on the last “Fun” Bay of Qunite Walleye charter prior to taking the boat out of the water. After twisting my arm and thinking long and hard. Ok it was about a small fraction of second I jumped at the chance. As I have posted before going out on the water with Lloyd on the U & ME charter is like going to walleye training school, the amount of stuff I learn on each outing would take me years to accumulate. One of the great things about fishing on a Bay of qunite walleye charter is it’s not really like your fishing on just “1” boat with a few fishing rods. They have a charter group that talks to each other all day getting the most up-to-date information on best colour, depth, location. I wonder if they offer a subscription service. Days before the magic weekend arrived the winter gods started putting the feelers out and posting super winds and snow. Perfect!! Last year at this time same thing happened and we had some of the hardest fishing I had ever seen. I was a little worried. Day#1. Thursday. It was just Lloyd and I but like always U & Me produced some amazing fishing. Total caught 7- Only -1 fish was eater size but the rest were some big girls. Day#2. Friday, Ralph and Terry arrived and joined in on the 3 hour tour. It was just one of those magical trips that was non-stop fish and laughter. Sometimes in the reverse order. Terry had an amazing talent for most of the day when his turn was up it would almost always end with a double header. Ended the day with 15 fish most released Day#3. Saturday. At 6:00am I checked the weather closer to Mississauga and I saw that they changed the weather forecast, the bad weather that was suppose to arrive on Sunday had sped up a little and was to hit “later” in the day. Lloyd knows the area like the back of his hand and gave us a choice as we left the dock. We could go to a protected area and try new ground or go to a proven producer but leave when the wind gets up. Friday was such a great day, we chose the protected area and it was one of those great days that just worked out. The place we went had no other boats around, consistent fish and little to no wind/waves. The storms that did eventually come were very scary, it was sunny and calm then you could see the black clouds and the wall of white. 20 min later 60K gusts of wind, whiteout conditions, then just like a dream it was over and back to calm and sunny. At the end of the day as Lloyd drove the boat home we came out of our protected cover and wow Lloyds boat was getting pushed sideways while under near full power as we headed back to the dock and this is no small tinny boat Once in we decided the weather forecast was only going to get worse – 8C over night so we decided to pack up early and pull the boat out. End result was we only got a few eaters with the rest being returned for next year, Sunday AM – Temperature -16C, winds gusting to 50… Best decision ever!

All these project makes me wish for a bigger garage and workshop

This year has been a slow year for me for fishing due to lots and lots of work. Then last week I got a nice note from management to start taking days of before the end of the year. Great! all summer they tell me not to take vacation but now the weather is crap they want me to start using it up. What else to do this time of year then head up to BOQ and search for some BOQ Gold. Boat was all packed, hotel all booked and ready to head up. Then I get the dreaded "call" sorry buddy can't make it something came up Since I was going up alone, Lloyd from U @ ME Guide Service is a good friend and is doing charters up there so I sent him a PM to see if he was around. Always nice to know someone else on the water. Talk about a lucky PM, Lloyd also had a last min cancallation but was taking 1 person out anyway and had some room. Hummm let me think about this,, take my boat out alone or go on a fully stocked charter boat. No question U&ME it was. Left my house at 3:00am to meet up at the dock for 6:30 am and off we went. I will let the pictures show most of the results but it was a magical day on the water, Lloyd really knows his stuff and had us on the gold eye's early on. Day-2 The Original plan was just for me to head out on the U & Me charter for one day then use my boat for the next day and head out alone. The forcast for winds was going to be crazyness so lucky for me Lloyd had a cancallation.. He told me if its not bad in the morning we could go out and if it gets rough just come back in. I thought with the rough weather coming the fish would be turned off and it would be just be a bumpy boat ride.. 6:30am at the dock and light winds.. Again Lloyd did his magic and below is even a picture of him fishing. Our crazy wind day And I thought I had lot's of fishing stuff.. Lloyd is stocked and then some. Then the winds hit around noon and we had to call it a DAY!!!

Cheer up, there is always more where that came from. She keeps talking about these new revenue tools.. Right

The leader of the native group called and spoke to the hunters. Upon explaining the importance the hunters now understand and gave the hides for spirtal ceramony. All is good. I think the issue was not the complaining but complaining to the wrong people.. They went to the media first if they just contacted the hunters first this would be a non story.

Always good to post when you get great service. Nothing worse than going into a bait shop and they are more intrested in taking to each other than customers.

Amazing pics as always You have a great talent at taking breath taking pictures.

I perfer the tired and tested baits that you can find anywhere but if I see something that looks intresting I will give it a try. I would say every so often, an independant comes out with a new concept that works great. Not really intrested in the specialty top priced baits. $15 for a life like bait, I want to fish to bite it not mate with it.

IT's GREAT news! I just hope they adjust the pricing unlike another major competitor Can’t understand the logic if I can order from the US and get it delivered to my door cheaper than driving 20K away and buying it. Watched a family get in a argument with a sales person… “but sir we can get it from your store online and have it delivered cheaper than its listed here” the response was sorry please order from the online store? nothing we can do.
