  1. I decided to go to Barbados for a last min trip as the price was right and I have a friend that lives there. While down there I wanted to do some deep sea fishing for the first time. I checked out a bunch of the very high priced large fishing charters and was completely dejected. While down there I asked my friend if he could recommend someone around that does a reasonable fishing charter and the first name that came up was Bluefin Fishing Barbados. Word was Rob is a stand up guy and looks after his guest. All I can say is best advice ever!! Captain Rob and first mate Joseph was top notch hosts. They had no problem answering any of my questions. The boat was more than big enough to handle the sea. Rob was both every entertaining and knowledgeable. Now the fishing. Rob knows the area and where the fish should be. We tried a few place with no luck then he took us to a different spot. The tides changed and wham!!! Bite after bite for the next few hours. We were at the right place at the right time! We had lost so many fish that would just bite the bait in two but would miss the hook we thought he was just feeding them to entertain us. Quick change in the bait setup and then it was hook up after hook up. I ended up catching the fish of a life time! I did the full day Fishing and it was a good thing as things turned on about mid way through. If you’re going to do this type of fishing I think it’s better to go for the full day rather than wish you had. Rob also does Sea Turtle tours (swim and feed turtles) etc but that was not my thing I just wanted the fishing and Rob at Bluefin Fishing delivered. Although Lloyd from U and Me Guide Service, has set the bar on knowledge and service for Ontario. I think Rob at http://www.bluefinfishingbarbados.com is a good competition in Barbados. How they load your gear for you. You have to walk out to the boat.. When the water is 30C at 6AM and the air is 32C not really an issue Water temp and depth.. Barbados you hit deep water about 1 mile off shore My biggest fish. This fish is called a wahoo. Some more fish Full Days catch
  2. Some nice fish there!!!

  6. Always a great read!!!! Thanks for posting
  7. The guy is taking the "media trashing" he deserves. The person did a stupid thing and is getting super punished. Wish people who robbed, killed, and other nasty things got this much attention.
  8. Sorry for your loss
  9. I am a super strong swimmer but still I got in the habit a bunch of years ago of always wearing my life jacket on open water (regular type) even with people on the boat. My kids now see me always put it on and they follow the lead.
  10. Its hit and miss right now, Sunday AM they were all stacked at the mouth then the wind and waves changed and they were gone. Standing room only casting spoons.
  11. That was amazing! nice camera work
  12. Just a note on storage.. You can buy a $1.50 Cork from home depot that fits the live well "Out Flow". Put the plug in the live well, cork on the "outflow" extra dry storage.. You need the live well reach over just remove cork ready to go.
  13. This is the same boat I have. I bought it new in 2003 I am extremely satisfied with the boat but not really on the Legend support on the rivets. Ask me anything you if you have questions. Some Key things. #1. The boat is riveted and they sort of went light on the rivets at the front. I had to take it back to the dealer in Barrier and have new rivets added and some reset. There are few that are located it areas that are inaccessible unless you really do some major work. These ones have JB weld. The leak proof warranty is NOT lifetime on this boat!! #2 The front casting deck is a major pain in the @$$ funny they fixed the issue in the later models. Casting and you can easily fall backwards first thing you grab is the windshield. See how I solved this happy ever since and the extra storage really helps.
  14. This year in particular there has been a major uptick in boating related deaths so the OPP are really pushing for safety. That being said. I still think that is a very rough deal, the want you to fight it for the overtime. Funny story, I was out at OFC event for the pike tourney. OPP came to check my boat in the little sea-doo we had 4 people on my boat. OPP does the life jacket check and tells me I need 5 life jackets and starts writing the ticket. My family is completely confused and I start explaining we only need 4 life jackets as he continues to write the ticket looking down. Finally he looks up in disgust and explains 5 people needs 5 life jackets. In a heart beat he realised he only see's 4 people starring down at him and was counting the front casting seat thinking someone was sitting there. My cousin in very quick wit said to the OPP officer sir have you been drinking. Ahhh good times
  15. Yeap that ain't coming back
  16. Living in the GTA it can take 2+ hours just to get across the city. 4 hours is normally my limit for a day of fishing.. Any longer then it really depends on if there is hotel I want to stay at our if I prefer my own bed.
