Just Got this reply from the Aylmer MNR office Good morning, Dan. Thanks for your email seeking clarification about ice fishing during the Stay-at-Home order. Hopefully the following information will be helpful. Under the Stay-at-Home order a person is required to remain in their place of residence and only leave their home for purposes permitted under the Stay-at-Home order, including: · Obtaining food · Exercise · Exercising an Aboriginal or treaty right as recognized and affirmed by the section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. Ice fishing huts should be treated the same as indoor gatherings and only be used with other members of your household. There are new restrictions on the rental of ice huts. Ice hut may only be rented to a person if the hut will only be used by members of the same household and the hut will not be used overnight. If a person owns their own ice hut, they can stay overnight. Well we got some ice on whitie grounds and all my lines have at least one of my creations as a drop . Been playing around with some different things. Mostly blood and grub style. We set up in 23 fow with a solid 5-8 inches of ice. I had two hits this morning ( only two fish that came in ) and both were on my ties. The first one bucked off at the hole . Caught the ice on the tip of the hook. Second one found his way out of the hole by my bear grip. These fish came off the bottom and smashed the fly's. No checking it out,just up and smash . I was so jacked. Of course,me fishing partner for the morning was like,hey,I need some of those baits. LOL. As always, I shared . Christen the new hub as well.LOL Finally a feed of fresh whitefish and fries tonight. Me fav.

Great memory! June 2007, Little Vermillion Lake pike and walleye! That Canon G5 is one of my all time favorite cameras, even considered buying the new G cameras because of it! Thanks Pump!! I still cant believe we have never crossed paths with the amount of fishing we do around the GTA.

There were a few dinks around but nothing worth catching and the dinks parked their cars on the ice

Nice work. About 22 years ago I started tying this fly because there was an old guy on the river that hammer steelhead with a massive stone fly. Like almost 2 inches long. He let me in on his secret and I came up with this version. Back then it was hard to get the good jig style hooks. Nothing pretty but the steelhead loved it especially late winter early spring. Was my secret for a couple years till everyone caught and stated refining it to the nice ones you see in the stores now. I always experimented with different colour combos. I remember an all white one with yellow was the ticket one year

As Terry has so eloquently pointed out there is no curfew in Ontario. The "no overnight in huts" was a requirement from the Health Board for hut RENTALS.. not personal huts.
