  1. Last minute decision this AM to head on the lake proved to be a great call from Jim Lyon. We launched at 10am and were back at the dock at 330. We ran 4 lines, 2 copper rigs and 2 boards with snap weights, all with spoons. With 8 fish in the first hour we knew it was going to be a good day. We pulled lines after another triple header cleaned our spread and headed in finishing 31/38 on the day. Average was easily 11-12lbs and the biggest was 18.5. Speed seemed to matter and needed to be 1.7-1.9 on the gps. Pretty awesome to be fishing open water in January.

  2. Like a lot of lower end businesses; they have learnt to reach out Via Internet and advertising. I other words he's burnt so many locals he needs to reach out to others who do not know what kind of slime he is! Dan. PS; I hope that somehow this thread gets back to him. Just to let him know he's not the KING of Beaverton! Maybe the jester? In my mind he's already a clown. Dan. Sorry Admin, Lock or delete my posts ageist this guy; but he's an ass!

  4. Only you and beans can get away with this comment. LOL Truth be told Cliff,I am not as limber as I once was. I have knee issues that takes me an hour to get moving in the AM, before I get my arse moving these days. I like to still walk some trails to the rivers, but at a slower pace. My ice fishing will be limited to closer spots , but most of them are not that far off shore anyways, but snow will determine my travel as well. As long as I get out, that is all that matters .

  5. Here's what I started with and in my imagination of what to make with this jumble of parts? LOL This vid is what came of it. Will it catch fish; I have no idea? But it was fun to build. LOL Dan.

  6. Still running 3 hours since posting the vid, and running on a battery 3/4s worn down. Kind of like that Bunny thing that never stops? LOL Dan.

  7. Guess where I got the idea to make my own? LOL Saw the price and beat it by 90% not including time spent. It's a toy I want to try and play with. Dan.

  8. Locallized swelling has been reported for the Covid vaccines. 😉 Prior to Viagra, Upjohn sold Caverject, which was a locally injectable aid. Considering that vaccine requires two injections several weeks apart, I think I can wait for a slower release.

  11. Remember the old saying you would hear on the tv or radio. No ice is safe ice ask an operator to be sure well years ago I was going out from Beaverton and through the I would ask what the ice conditions were like. About the same respond as you got from him If you’re not spending money why would I help you

  12. It,s been over a month since I hit the river. All this messed up weather put me in a funk and the river a mess .What a gorgeous morning to hit the river. -1 no wind and NO other anglers to be seen . Now that is social distancing .Man is the water up. Where I would be knee deep,I was waist deep. I have not bottom bounced in many years, but this mornings conditions warranted it. Paid off. Fresh runner that is heading to the smoker Saturday morning.

  17. Just pulled my little guy out of storage. Get some maintenance done, fit a set of skies to the front wheels and wait for the big freeze to come. I was going to wash it; but then though there's no sense to polish a turd. LOL Dan.

  18. A number of years back they had 2 trucks equipped with similar ones, turned out to be a massive money pit and then sold off on auction to Manitoba Hydro.

  19. I bought a new 90HP Merc 4 stroke in 1999 and put a ton of hours on it over the next 10 years and never had a single issue with it. I sold it to a bud in 2009 and he drove it for another 7 or so years before it needed it's 1st repair. I'd say 17 problem free years is pretty darned impressive. I bought a new 150 Yamaha 4 stroke in 2010 and drove that one for 7 years before I quit fishing but they were also problem free years when I sold it. I've always figured if you take care of your gear and keep it well maintained it'll last you a long time.
