  1. I have the Strker Hardwarer suit. I did a lot of research before buying and it along with the Clam looked really good. I went with Striker because I found it to be more stylish (I can where the jacket as a normal winter jacket and not just for ice fishing). You really need both the bib and jacket to have the proper safety of floating. The combo of bib and jacket are expensive. But it's worth it.

  2. Most people in the car industry, especially the used car industry, know that Chrysler or FCA make crappy vehicles and the management use trickery to flog their junk. They are not the only ones, but probably they are the worst in North America. It's been that way for a long time and it's almost like a long term training program within the network of building and selling Crycos that you will build crap, you will employ cheezy sales and marketing tricks and in the end, the public will get burned. With that said Toyota, a fantastic manufacturer, had a very similar issue with International Warranty back in the 90's. Huge swaths of consumers got burned in International's bankruptcy and Toyota and other makers, let the consumer twist in the wind. Bottom line, if it sounds too good to be true it is to good to be true and not just in the car industry. What's most disappointing in all of this to me however, is the response of OMVIC. It's just another reminder that the government in Ontario, Canada, Toronto, St Catherines, etc are basically populated by, run by, dicks. They will screw the public virtually all of the time. Sometimes it's well hidden, sometimes its as obvious as can be. This case is transparently obvious to anyone but the losers at OMVIC, a department of the Ontario government.

  3. A first for me. Used a few different lures and had one hit. Decided to use my #5 Vibrax which doesn't get much use. First cast fish on, a sheephead of all things. Well at least I know I won't have the white stripe today. Second cast same area, pike on, nice size as well. A few more casts and nothing. Moved around using different lures, after a half hour, back to the earlier spot, and yep, put the Vibrax back on. Few casts later another pike. Nice I thought. Few more casts yet another pike. Feeling pretty good, that's for sure. Decided to change areas, and keep the vibrax on. One more fish to finish the day, an bass. All fish caught on the Vibrax, a first for me. T'was a good day on the water.

  4. I try to stock up on vibrax’s in size 3-6 whenever they go on sale. They catch everything

  5. This time of year/conditions could also add something to the Vibrax performance. You had a really good day on the water.

  7. Ya all know I love to get set up early in the morning ,drink some java and listen to the woods come alive. Did my best to keep the back ground to a min. Will start with my backing line thread I posted a while back . My combo of chartreuse and neon blue, and first try at sunline. Backing sure helps build bulk quick and not using up mono. After putting on 150 yards of backing slowly and keeping it level ,I added 300 yards of the sunline main. When I was done spooling, the pin was loaded just perfect. This sunline is so smooth. First time user of this line .With this pin having a very narrow throat, Wallis casting, is the preferred. I like this,as it makes me get away from the side cast and dealing with nesting. Ya swivels help, but eventually, nesting happens . I have come very comfortable with it now, and the float just fly's out there . Fresh runs are the best . The fish are super spunky . I had a few that did some real nice aerial flips, hell, had one almost jump on shore at the other side of the river. These fish have no give up in them. Great fights. I,ll just leave you with pics from the past 3 days. Rains coming, and reports of maybe some snow , so I think it will be a few days till my next outing. My float set up using that hollow pencil lead . Sure saves on loading up shot. I like to bulk shot,as I fish deeper pools and have a 4 ft lead of floro with just the hook . Allow the bait to flow naturally IMO. It works for me . My new Rain Shadow Kombat custom rod my son gave me, is one sweet stick.

  8. They’ve started dumping rocks along the concrete walls for support. I just wish they started the construction all throughout the summer instead of doing it during the fall. The locals who fish there must be so pissed.

  11. I don’t slap my lures on the water, I’ve seen lures break to often. I got the habit of just picking the weeds off my lures

  12. Dodge is obviously aware of these issues and still pushes this scam through their dealer network. Time to vote with your wallet and never buy another of their products. You might love your RAM truck, but you are supporting scammers. You'll love your Chevy or Ford too after you adjust to the difference.

  15. That used to happen to my Bagley B Flat lures when a big steelhead nailed them hard. They kept the lure I would get the lip back. Steelies don't like to be trifled with it seems.

  17. Nice catches and yes, those spinners are great for all types of fish. If there were salmon around, they would smash that one.

  18. Good luck HEEBS. Depending on the judge Small claims can be a great option. I have used it successfully myself. This whole thing is a great example of how our government lets us all down at virtually every turn. OMVIC was set up to protect consumers from fraud at dealerships and related industries. You could not find a more blatant fraud than this particular transaction and their best effort is to send the consumer back to the fraudster. How outrageous. On the other hand if the dealership does anything that would affect the government themselves, like holding inventory for more than a year and not remitting HST as an example, they would be all over it with fines etc. Lazy, useless and incompetent are just some of the adjectives that come to mind regards OMVIC. Thieving dicks would come to mind for Chrysler and their dealer network.

  20. I have had a Mustang (one piece) and Salus (two piece) suits. Both were great, bulky but warm. I now use a Striker Ice Predator Suit and it's ten times better to be honest. The striker suit is so much more soft and comfortable, and I've even had to change up my base layering because the Predator suit is so warm. I highly recommend it. *Full disclosure I have never had any of them in the water!

  21. I have had numerous floatation suits/jackets over the years and here's my take! Any flotation clothing is better than none and HT Ice Picks are an absolute must! I hated the one piece suit because I always felt like the Michelin man wearing it and opening it half way when it was warm out was a pain! Two piece suits are awesome but some are stiffer than others! Last year was my first year with a Striker suit and I absolutely love it, incredibly well designed, obviously with a tremendous amount of feedback from ice anglers! The adjustable inseam is awesome for us vertically challenged people! I would highly recommend one of their suits! Here is a test by David Lefebre:

  23. man oh man this get my blood boiling all over again. How these people sleep at night is beyond me. Thievery. Those salespeople at the dealership have to know xwrp is gonna screw you, yet they sell it anyways to get their commission. No wonder car salesmen get a bad rep
