All week my son has been amped about a fun 30 spot (boat) bass tourney , on fri came home after a nightshift to find a pile of lumber stacked on the lawn that he had been practicing his jig flipping on lol.
Today the Kid grinded it out in the heat , we got a five fish bag for weigh in ,culled one .
The boy had his heart broke when he lost an honest 4lber ... amazing life lesson lol.
We both loved every sec of the day and look forward to a doing a few more .
Haven't had the boat out as of yet, but my son and I have been hitting local rivers and inlets around Innisfil on Simcoe. Today he caught a 7-8 pound Bowfin. He caught it all by himself, I'm surprised the line didn't snap! Got a good picture of it flipping out of our hands. He managed to catch some sunfish, rockbass, bass, perch, Bowfin, and 2 gobies today which we killed.
I,ll bet he was real excited to fight that one .
Have a caught a few while flipp,n for bass . They hit hard and fight like crazy. You think you got a mother of a bucket on, til their head comes up and ya say, well you know.LOL
The smile on the little guys face tells the whole story !!
I never caught a bowfin, infact don't think I've ever even seen one but they sure look like they could give you a real tussle.
not to make fun of your buddy but P.T. Barnum once said "theres a sucker born every minute"
Prices are always set by what people are willing to pay. That one makes me laugh because thats exactly what I paid to launch my boat this year...unlimited, for the entire calendar year lol.
I used to fish Lake Simcoe and French River but I wont pay those ridiculous park and launch fees on lake simcoe so it leaves the French river which I have been fishing for the last 35 years and I love it.
