  2. Yabbadabbadooooooooooo Woke up at 4:30 this morning and was not sitting around . I grabbed that new stick my son gave me for Christmas, back pack, some loose roe I had and was off. What a beauty of a morning to be walking the trib. Still though, the fiddle heads and mushrooms are way behind. Found lots of stumps, but the heads were not showing yet. I just tied bags by hand at the river as I was not expecting to head out this morning . I kind of liked this today, as I was able to tie to water conditions and it is not that much of a bother. Missed 2 hits and caught this guy. Float laid flat and I just lifted as if it was bottom. Nope, fish. It was deep hooked,so home it came for dinner. New stick is so sweet. I missed that 13 ft advantage of being able to mend and keep the line off the fast current. I did get a bit of roe goo on it . Tried not too, but I forgot my towel. The SST 3 is a great compliment to the rod. Maybe another report Saturday. Calling for rain Friday . That is ok though, as I finally got my clouser minnow material .

  3. Self-isolation. Man we are weeks into self isolation and it is really upsetting me to witness my wife standing at the living room window gazing into space with tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her like this, I have thought very hard about how I might cheer her up. I have even thought about letting her in but rules are rules. Johnny D, plagiarizing.

  4. I have one on the boat now 90hp merc. I fish alot of uncharted northern waters and it's saved me multiple times now. Being able to lift the motor to swap out a broken blade is way more important to me than a bit of performance. I guess it depends on how you use your rig. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for durability and not performance.

  5. Thanks for the update MJIG, that's great news. I was by there yesterday and it was a very sad feeling looking at the place and thinking about how terrible it's been there the last couple months.

  7. Tournament fishing doesn't drive anything but more tournament fishing. It has absolutely nothing to do with why, or how I fish.

  8. Pic's sounds like you have some great access and a handle on some good drive in lakes I really enjoyed our drive in and boat in trips as well - Lady Evelyn has a lot of lodges but we found a few area's to fish where we felt like we were the only people on the planet Cheers Andrew

  9. This will be the 1st time in 30+ years I won't be opening walleye season in my favorite spot. I don't know if public docs and piers will be open, but that is not the reason. My dad passed away 2 weeks ago from a ruptured abdominal aneurysm. Taking care of my mom well being is more important to me. To all those that are going fishing good luck and catch one for my dad.

  10. I'll lose sleep over important things, not being able to fish while a pandemic plays out isn't one of them.

  12. Can you go 500 miles in Europe without crossing a border or few? The standard of living, trade, and relative peace make travel there much more likely than in Africa or South America? How much of the population of either continent can afford a trip to an exotic? land like China? If the alleged richest country on earth? can't seem to deal with it? it's no wonder it may pose an even greater threat to 3rd world nations? Both parents of one of my sons closest friend tested positive the other day, they work as a team ( truck drivers ) so I figured there might be a higher risk for them, but the thinking is that they got it from a family friend that stopped by for a visit before he had signs of illness. Hope all goes well for them, they are in the age group, and with underlying conditions that may pose problems.

  13. This beast of a Yellow Perch which I do believe was caught in Wisconsin was 17" long and had a 16" girth! They didn't scale it for weight as they released it! Absolute GIANT!
