  1. I agree with there's no excuse; but I'd also would like to know what the "innocent" boater did? When I had my 16' tinny, I cannot count the number of times that I've been cut off, all but capsized or damn near run over; by these innocent cabin cruiser drivers/owners. Something set that drunk off; but again he shouldn't have done what he did. Dan

  2. We have a summer house in PEI, there are lots of opportunities for mackerel, flounder, sea-run brookies and stripers. Shoot me a PM, let me know where you'll be and when, and I can point you in the right direction.

  5. They need to put their minds together and work on cheaper ones, that ALL anglers can use. They do not need to be that expensive. ( just like the lure thread ) WHY ? Oh look at me and my high tech unit. LOL Making a spot lock stern trolling motor design cannot be that hard. Hell,I see it can be done.

  8. Some pros are now running 16" units but many have 4 12" units, 2 at the driver's console and 2 at the bow of the boat! I know that as our eyes age the bigger screens are helpful! LOL

  9. i really need to do some reading and look into getting a subscription again. Ive always just bought the cards and never dealt with the updates etc and now that something like this is out I wonder if I would be able to use it with my slightly older non "platinum" cards. I purchased navionics on my phone a few years back but then it prompted me that if I wanted to continue I would have to pay another $30 or something so I just never updated it and kept the original version. I'm purely guessing but Im thinking you would need the most recent cards for this to work? I need to look into this because I definitely use my phone to do a lot of planning when looking at new lakes or planning to fish upcoming tournaments while I am away from my boat. The ability to route tracks and save them for upload to your graph is also a fantastic feature. I currently find it kind dumb that in order to save a route I basically have to drive it and then save it, rather than planning a safe route for myself on a new lake and then being able to drive it before I have ever actually driven the route. Something like that would have come in extremely handy while driving lake marion which is literally the scariest lake I have ever driven on. The fact that I had to venture out blindly just using my GPS without a route to find safe passage before I could actually save that safe route into my GPS seems insane. I probably need some lessons on how to effectively use my GPS to its full potential.

  11. yup no excuse but i too saw a cabin cruiser flip 2 small boats because he was running full out making a 6ft wave in a narrow passage i could have ran to the big boat to try to get him to stop but i went over to the flipped boats to get the people out of the water

  12. Very nice it is amazing how over the last 7 years that electronics have really surged ahead. Navionics has really been one of the leaders for sure. Thanks for the heads up David Art

  13. I was boating back downriver under the fort Erie peace bridge when some clown in a cabin cruiser was coming up river. Anyone who has gone through this current knows that it is a bit hairy under the peace bridge. The operator opened her up just before we met and he threw a 4 foot wave at my boat. Boy was I pissed. Some of these cruiser operators think that they own the right of way because of their size. I am not defending the guy in the smaller boat at all. He should have been charged so it was the correct outcome. What he should have done besides not being drunk was to call the police on the cruiser operator if he did something dangerous to the smaller boat. I am sure that we have all seen this one. The guy driving the cruiser saw this boat from a distance away yet still managed to run them over.

  15. First time for me, yesterday I cooked a whole turkey (12 pounds) in the BBQ, Brushed it all over with EVO, added a bit of Montreal Chicken Spice, put it in an aluminum roasting pan with two cups of chicken broth and some Cardamon seeds, and left the two outer burners going, middle two off, for a couple hours. Temp gauge on the BBQ read about 375 F. I put aluminum foil over the bird for the second hour. It came out beautiful golden brown and moist meat. And no heat in my kitchen! And no, I did not take a photo, never thought of it until I was already carving the bird...............

  16. Remember the T shirts ? "Blast Furnace Pure Hell." They don't give you a 25 years and out pension for nothing. The place should be open September 1st which means some time in November based on the speed the contractors go. I am completely hands off on this one. James N. is changing everyday not for the better in some cases. Rents have gone sky high. Those apartments above the store fronts went for 500 bucks or less a month. Now a grand or more. Our social club has been offered several million to sell. Then where do we go? Tony Creek?
