Have not fished alot, but when I do,it,s more to test out my ties. My new high hooks have been killing it . Since I was very close to a deep drop off, I thought I would give a try for a white fish . Wasn't long before a fish came in and did a slow chase and hooked up . Thought it was a whitie as it was just swinging back and forth on the way up . Half way up, it was not to be . Big run back down . Laker. All good . Play it out,in the net, quick pic and back it went . Played with some pannies on the new high hooks . Working well .

That's a darky as far as Simcoe Lakers go, intersting.  ;)

Seems thier diet from word is, they are eating up the gobies . I was surprised how dark it was as well .

Well if they're munching Gobies that would likely explain it.

All the trout from Simcoe that I have caught this year were the same dark colour

I never did check for clippings/stocked fish . Possible it could be a different strain they are stocking ?

Anything is possible Brian, I don't put a lot faith in the decisions of the MNR's policies in regards to stocking programs.
