Stlcitysc Posted Friday at 12:20 AM Report Posted Friday at 12:20 AM Hello, I am considering a trip to the Ontario area and Buffalo, NY over the summer. I wanted to take my 12 yr old son on a guided smallmouth trip (other species too) and am exploring options. Lake Simcoe, Georgian Bay, and Lake Erie are all places I’d like to go but we probably only have time for a 1 day trip since we’re also sightseeing. Does anyone recommend one body of water over the other? Also, if there are any local guide recommendations I’d really appreciate it. Thanks, Tom
pics Posted Saturday at 02:25 PM Report Posted Saturday at 02:25 PM Someone must know of a guide.. the kawartha lakes, Georgian Bay or Bay of Quinte would be great areas to start searching 1
Reelpro Posted Sunday at 03:37 PM Report Posted Sunday at 03:37 PM Try the Ontario Sportsfishing Guides Association. Lots of charter operators in the area you are looking at. For a more wilderness experience, 4/5 North of the GTA check out Reelpro listed on the site under inland lakes. www.ontariofishcharters.ca GL Mike 2
CrowMan Posted Sunday at 03:50 PM Report Posted Sunday at 03:50 PM If you only have time for a day trip, I would suggest Lake Simcoe...only an hour or less from Toronto. It has some monster Smallmouth... https://www.fishingsimcoe.com/local-businesses/fishing-guides-lake-simcoe 1

CrowMan Posted Sunday at 04:22 PM Report Posted Sunday at 04:22 PM BTW, I highly recommend Taro at Fish City Tours on that list of Simcoe guides. 1

Spiel Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM I'm not sure if forum member David Chong is currently guiding on Simcoe but if he's not, he can certainly direct you as to is. Perhaps send him a PM. 1
aplumma Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM You can check in our sister site https://getnorth.com/ they have many listings for you to look at. Art 1
AKRISONER Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM Report Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM I’m going to give the same recommendation of fishing with taro Murata on lake simcoe, or a lake of his choice. He will get you on fish and your kid will have a blast. 2
Essox Posted Monday at 05:06 PM Report Posted Monday at 05:06 PM I would highly recommend Lake Erie for walleyes, perch, bass. If you google Erie Base Marina or Buffalo, small boat Harbor I'm sure there are tons of them. I mean w/o going to NWO it's as good of walleye fishing as your going to get. I see them down there but don't know them personally. If you want to do a day trip to Chautauqua in southwest NYS try this link, they are best known for musky's try https://www.chautauquareeloutdoors.com/ Great Musky guide 1
BillM Posted Monday at 07:53 PM Report Posted Monday at 07:53 PM (edited) Lower Niagara if it were me. Basically every species you could imagine. Lyle from HookedOnNiagara or Paul from Cast Adventures would be the ticket. Can find both of them on Facebook. Great guides. Edited Monday at 07:54 PM by BillM 4

There a lot of Charters out there as well. The best time for lower Niagara is the fall, unless looking for summer smallmouth. Edited yesterday at 01:28 PM by Essox 1
