CrowMan Posted November 25, 2022 Author Report Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) Unfortunately that Grandma might be one of the last of her kind... https://bluefishcanada.ca/the-death-of-the-st-lawrence-musky-fishery/ Interesting opinion by John Anderson that long line trolling is contributing to their decline...as opposed to casting Edited November 25, 2022 by CrowMan
glen Posted November 25, 2022 Report Posted November 25, 2022 Does it say what the girth was. nice fish.
dave524 Posted April 25, 2023 Report Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) While mine only goes to 30 pounds , those Chantillion scales in the picture can be certified for IGFA records, at least at one time. Might be a good idea to get it certified in world record waters https://www.chatillon-scales.com/products/handheld-scales/in-series-fish-and-game-linear-handheld-scales Edited April 25, 2023 by dave524
jordyn1976 Posted April 29, 2023 Report Posted April 29, 2023 Wow, that's a monster muskie Cullen caught! Must've been one heck of a fight. Was he using one of his custom lures?
outllaw Posted June 17, 2023 Report Posted June 17, 2023 sad to have long line trolling a bullcrap issue. blaming use of planer boards. obviously that statement is biased and un-educated. lets just blame using hooks and boats with motors.yes theres been issues but to construe tactics, lets just ban fishfinders also.

I don't know about "un-educated". Jon Anderson is one of the most respected Muskie authorities on the planet. And the list of names signing off at the bottom have a bit of experience too. BTW, it's not planer boards so much as long line trolling with mono, which remains a common practice on the US side of the river.
outllaw Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Well i have fished muskies on many lakes. home port is l st clair. caught my first skie in 1956.ran a charter service and due to age/injuries we build musky lures. the LARGESTissue is enviroment, and the great lakes as a sewer system.we daily deal with invasives..if guys will deal with the obvious then calling out styles and methods that are completly legal..yes i have fished the st lawerence, ottawa river everywhere b,bay kawarthas etc. its about enviroment and other issues..why is st clair not destroyed. michigan runs 3 rods, ont 2 rods.and yet mnr states we have a musky imbalance of too many fish.,per acre. do your home work guys.
