Rod Caster Posted January 1, 2016 Report Posted January 1, 2016 We (Joey Tier) found mud, yes mud, on the trail to the first lake, so we headed back to an easy-access lake. There, we found 1" of solid ice, so we fished off a public dock into 4 feet of water and caught nothing. Ice fishing!

Old Ironmaker Posted January 1, 2016 Report Posted January 1, 2016 Who needs ice when you have open water? I know it's just not the same. Nothing like coming into the hut for a hot bowl of Chile and a cold pop. I had the hardwater bug for many years and I get it. Good effort boys.

I went up and checked the progress today with Sam. if not for the snow, you could have launched a boat there. Just a skim or shore ice on some back bays. To say I am disappointed is an understatement! Nice day for a drive with my girlfriend at least.
