Help finding leeches

Hi all,

 

We're heading up to the French River next week and I usually bring leeches. My bait guy says he most likely won't have any and says not many places around do. According to him, a tough spring on those little suckers. I'm leaving Guelph and heading up the 400/69. Do any of you jedi know of any place to grab some? Cheers and thanks.

This won't help you for getting actual live leeches but consider Berkley leeches if you don't find what you want. They work.

yep, i'd suggest the gulp leeches

 

google coffee can trap, your first night up there set a few traps using fish guts or some other meat near a weedy area, we've always done well that way, expensive to buy

If its not to far away to drive.. sheppard and warden... PRO J bait shop has lots of them, but they dont sell 1lb of leeches anymore.. just incase you really want it... tel 416 913 8305 look for jun or jasper... owner..

There is a place at 400 and Jane called All Nation Fishing. He's got everything. 416 241 FISH. Give him a call, they open early as well. Owner operated

I'm driving North and hitting the 400 at hwy 9 to rendez-vous with the rest of our party. Any word of leeches further North? Point au Baril? Barrie?

call dufferin outdoors in orangeville and ask if he has any. there's diver's nook in parry sound, he may have some - it's a diving shop but he sells live bait/fishing gear, again give him a call. and if they have any in pointe au baril, you'll pay a crazy price.

There is the bait place right in point au barril directly on 69 highway on the east side across from the gas station. Im not sure of the name of the place to call and check for leeches but they always have worms and minnows and some tackle.

I know the place right across from the gas station on 69 at Point Au Barril. I stop and pick up minnows on my way to the French River and she usually has leaches as well.

Lots of local bait retailers. Please dont bring the southern bait to our waters! Lots of small dealers here can provide all your bait needs! Point au Baril, Alban, Noelville...

Believe my local bait shop lady said maximum 120 leeches per person, so the days of buyin em by the pound are over...
