Cast-Away Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Whether I check out this board at work or at home (both are high speed), any page that I try to open is very slow. I've made no changes to my browser settings. Anyone else notice this?
BFSC Kevin Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 im fine with it.. i have hi speed with sympatico in downtown toronto.
Terry Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 yes and there have been a few posts about...no fix but lots of questions it's like being back in the stone age or worst on dial up.... but just at times all will be fine, I go to post and it times out a few times before I can get it to post
Dutch Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Honestly, do we really need another thread about this? Personally, I have not noticed any difference. If there is any lasting issues causing this I'm sure they are being worked on.
Guest mistyriver1 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Still very slow for me to Cast-away..........
bigfish1965 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 THose having trouble should run a tracert to see where the slowdown is cause it is fine here.

Northhunter Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I was on another connection (high speed) until about a week ago and never had any problems, even when the posts about the speed started. I've since moved back home (cable) and it usually lags quite a bit before a page will load. Have not had any problems with the other sites I frequent.
bigfish1965 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 My tracert gives me a slowdown near Washington...same as everyone else, so it seems to be an internet slowdown and not a server.
Terry Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 it just shows the route it takes from my computer to the OFC server..and how long it takes per hop I am on different high speed connections and at times all 3 are slow

Gerritt Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 (edited) Terry, using your computer to run a trace route is more accurate as it is your computer sending the packets. not sure if you know how to run a traceroute or not from your pc... Start, Run, Type in "cmd" and hit enter at the prompt type in "tracert website or ip" hit enter It will show you from your PC to the site you want info from, which is a good thing incase your ISP is to blame. You can also use "ping website" from the same command window. if you already knew all this, my post was a waste of time If yah didnt you know now Gerritt. Edited May 1, 2007 by Gerritt
