fishinfool
A friend at the cottage has a 31' Fountain with twin 502s in it. He took me and my son for a ride into rosedale for ice cream. Took us about three minutes to get there from Driftwood Village which is a pretty long run. Top speed was 92 mph and he said "the hull is dirty" haha. I had a big smile on my face all the way! That was realllllll fast in the day. Today's boats are just crazy fast!

I do know that they were pretty heavy because every so often we had to sink them with markers in front of the docks and leave them to soak up the water and tighten the boards. There was a beautiful Cedar Strip runabout on the lake last year that had been restored and it looked brand new. A really nice boat.

Tybo
Probably a good thing Terry... I'd hate to see the marks his previous boats could leave in a dock.. Reverse Paul.. reverse... That why docks are anchored to the ground. I was entering a slip in Orillia with my first Challenger.Glide into the slip,Throw it in reverse and pound the throttle to stop the boat.Boat lurches forward so hard that when I hit the dock the hole boat comes out of the water.I rip out the tether,To late the boat is now sitting on the dock completely out of the water. There's a two guy's sitting in a boat a couple of slips up laugh. They come over to help push the boat back into the water. One guy asks what happened,I say,Don't know??.Pop the cowl off and the shift cable is just hanging there. The boat was still in forward.
