bigugli Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Despite the damage that has been done, the fish are running in from the lake and the spawn is on. Yellow perch have finished and now feeding. White perch and drum are moving in. As are the big schools of shiner. A little sampling from today. Despite the fact it looks like a stink hole, it is still a spawning ground for major sportfish. Found a couple of frye in my baitnet making their way out to the lake. What a great way to spend 5 hours.
Afraz Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Oh wow amazing pics, and you're right its such a surprise to see a vibrant fishery in some of the most overlooked spots.

bigugli Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Great looking day to be out. A multi species report too Is that little guy an ATLANTIC IF it's an Atlantic, there are going to be a lot of very surprised biologists. Place hasn't been stocked in well over 20 years with chinook and rainbow, not sure about browns

Leecher Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I love your little piece of heaven (The Pond) Bruce Always a great time spending it along it's edges Love the shot of the fry Tomorrow going out to a local lake for some square tails Only a few hours to wait Good job and thanks for sharing Jacques
BillM Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I don't think that little fish is heading anywhere... If he goes out to the lake, he'll be dinner in no time.. He should be hanging out there for a few years unless it gets way to warm in the summer..
GBW Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Is that little guy an ATLANTIC Sucka-bow or a tadpole
basskicker09 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 it gets way to warm in those ponds to hold the trout in summer me and the women and her friend went out there yesterday and did quite well between the two girls they caught over thirty fish i on the other hand have caught two and not just two for the trip two fish for the open water season

limeyangler Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Great place to wet a line Bruce......do you need any blackflies sent down?
capt bruce Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 This is why what the stupid owner did is so so wrong . Its not just a Pond its home to so many things , wonder how he/she would feel if the wild life that used to live on that hill came into their liveing room and started rearrangeing things
