Guest lundboy Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 (edited) I remember this from grade 2 or 3, only it was a long version about 20 minutes with scenes from all over Ontario. Didn't see the Ontario Pavilion at Expo though, too young. Edited November 22, 2008 by lundboy
johnnyb Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Hah! I remember singing that in...grade 4? Good times, good times....
Radnine Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 God, that brings back memories. I too remember that from public school. I used to love that feeling when you would walk into the class and see the projector set up. It was like Christmas every time.
ccmtcanada Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Never heard this before....how old are you guys??? LOL. The one I remember hearing growing up was similar.... "Good things grow-oh-oh in Ontario"
forrest Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Great song I have not heard this version of the song, but know it well from more recent versions....We may never hear it up hear again because the Province sold it to an American. forrest
bigugli Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 (edited) God that does bring back a ton of memories. Emperor Bill ( Davis ) would always have a brass band or school choir to sing/play that theme every time a new provincial facility or program was opened. More important was our national theme from the Centennial and EXPO. Remember Bobby Gimby? "North, South, East, West, There'll be happy times....." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjiIvGpbYX8 Back when Canadians were proud of this country And a few other forgotten Canadian tunes: Maple City http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0hWpRj7Nus...feature=related Maple Leaf Forever Edited November 22, 2008 by bigugli
bigugli Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I won't apologize for all the flag waving. I am a very loyal, and rabid, Canadian Oh, and one more for the "blue jackets" out there: Come cheer up my lads to the tavern we steer, To have us some more of that wonderful cheer' To the P O's we drink and the Snotties who sneer We'll have us some pints til we've drunk all the beer....
Greencoachdog Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 You want memories? How about Grand funk Railroad, Inside looking Out, 1969.. ... but do you remember this one?
Grimace Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) My Personal Favourite is the TVOntario Log Driver's Walz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPDi9DzihrE...dGbPycvAjOyEk45 Gotta love it Edited November 23, 2008 by Grimace
Greencoachdog Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Actualy, no, GCD, I don't. It sure can't hold up to Grand funk railroad. It was prolly before your time... grand funk is ok... if you like the sound of a galvanized garbage can being blown down an asphalt road in a high wind.

Wow do I ever remember that .. in fact I went to school RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD from Bill's house ... they used to have all kinds of hippy rallies in the park behind his house - of course I was in grade 5 at the time so we were just glad to get out of class Edited November 23, 2008 by camillj

Used to play in a Sea Cadet band in the early 70's Had to have all those forementioned Canadian songs memorized. Brampton was just one big subdivision back then. Half the houses were built by Bramalea Construction back then.
