Saw this posted on another board a short time ago. I'm heading there myself in just three short hours.

French River - On the 4th of September 2008, a tanker truck containing raw sewage overturned into the French River at the Dokis Road Bridge. Approximately 5000 gallons of sewage leaked into the river and may affect residents of the Municipality of the French River and Killarney.

 

West Nipissing Police is investigating the spill with the assistance of the Health Unit. The Health Unit is expected to put out an advisory to all residents on the 5th of September.

 

If there are any questions please contact the District Health Unit at (705) 474-1400.

A truck overturned by accident and you hope there is a hefty fine?

How about you hope the driver is okay and makes it home to his family?

 

 

I am sure if there was a death or even a severe injury it would have been mentioned in the article.

 

And yeah I think there should be a fine if the driver was in anyway careless..

Dano is exactly right!

Still a brown trout run in the fall shouldnt look like that!

 

Just think though you would have your trout and corn dinner to boot :whistling:

 

This is not as bad as what has happened to the river here in Ottawa over the last few years...try at least 10 times that much has spilled in the river from our city sewage plants. The carp are happy though :rolleyes:

Wasn't there another derailment lower down last month?

 

Jeebus, how bad are the tracks around there?

 

Actually the report says it was a "TRUCK" that was involved not a rail car. As far as the railroad (30 year retired railroader) crap happens. :rolleyes:
