April 22-24 1915. Ypres, Belgium. The Battle of Ypres First Canadian Division The Germans held high ground On April 22nd after an artillery bombardment the Germans did what had never been done. They unleashed 5700 cylinders of chlorine gas. It sank into trenches and forced the Canadians out onto the open field. It was a slaughter. Somehow the Canadians held on through the night and even advanced on the Germans only to lose that position. They held position until reinforcements arrived. 4 Canadian men won the Victoria Cross in that Battle. Ed Bellew Fred Fisher Fred Hall Francis Scrimger It was in those trenches at the second battle of Ypres that John McCrae wrote the poem "In Flanders Fields". REMEMBER. Edited to add: 6035 Canadian casualties in 48 hours.

In Tampa, it is cheaper than going to a movie. lol.

It is Peter Laviolette's way of calling out Guy Boucher. The 1-3-1 is boring at the best of times but to not send 1 single forchecker past the blue line is ridiculous. This is not hockey. The trap is bad enough but I do not recall any trap system not having at least 1 forchecker. The first '1' in Guy Boucher's 1-3-1 is actually in between the red line and blue line. Brutal. I strongly dislike the Philadelphia Flyers but I am with Laviolette on this one.

I always say "Well, I guess that's it eh Dad?". He says "Yep, I guess it's that time". Then when he is putting his lure back in the box I continue to fish. I snicker to myself everytime.

Have you had a look on YouTube at the Honda's. They throw snow about a gazillion feet. I want one real bad.
-
Lol. Yep. I saw a cartoon a while back in one of the papers the had a Leaf's fan handing his psychologist's business card to a Senator's fan.
-
Yeah, your going to have to make up your mind Matt. Are we overly enthusiastic or a bunch of deadbeat, ungrateful fans. Your petty vitriol for the Leaf's speaks volumes about yourself. I would be willing to wager that you are a former Leaf fan that now hates the organization for not giving you a winning team and hates the current fans because you see a weak and heartbroken version of yourself in them. When the Leaf's finally start to succeed you will probably really start to crank up the vitriol for them as you will be devastated at that point, that you did not stick with them and have placed your hopes in a very lousy Senator team. The next time you go to Local Heroes up there in Ottawa to take in the game, remember it is ok to break down. You can cry, it feels good to cry. Let it out Matt, just let it out man. Bwahahaha.

I have not clicked on the link yet but when I think of Kamchatka, all I can think about is Risk!!!

Welcome back Muskymatt. Your timing matches your class. Lol (joking). To the guy that said the Sens have more prospects than the Leafs right now. ------ Open your eyes. The problem with the Sens right now is that they have no prospects. None. Zip, zilch, nada. The Leafs will not finish first this year of course, but it is looking more and more like they are going to go into the playoffs. Wouldn't that be nice, eh lads? I predicted last year that they would finish 10th in the East. I predict a 5th place finish this year (lofty, I know).

I wonder if they have one for rent. Who needs a cottage if you have an apartment on St. Clair. lol Real nice fat fish gentleman. Real nice.
-
He balanced the tire too. I watched him. The whole situation took about 25 minutes.
-
Somebody else's brother in law patched my tire from the inside, fixed a rim leak and fixed a stem leak all on one tire (the trifecta) for 20. I don't know who's brother in law he is, but he isn't mine. Just some tire dude to me.

Fish put on weight as the water temperature cools down mainly because of a slowing metabolism. The fall "feedbag" is actually somewhat of a myth. It is a great time of year to catch fat fish. I personally have found that you can have the best fishing days of your life in the fall or your worst. Having said that, fall is my favourite time of year to fish. Fall is a giant cold front, full of a rapidly rising and dropping barometer. Just keep at it and slow your baits down as the water gets colder.

Thanks for the report. I am hoping to get that way soon. Nice fish!!

Cleveland's House on Lake Rosseau is big resort that would do that type of thing. I have no experience with them, just another place to check into.

Incredible. Thanks for posting. What a beautiful part of the Earth. You can take a million mountain and river pictures and no matter how beautiful they come out it can never do them justice. You have to be there, surrounded by them to get a true reading on how remarkable they are. You did your part though, as those are really sharp looking photographs. That is to say nothing of the fish. A very enviable two weeks.

Same here Lew. Once, when I was working the down riggers in rough water I couldn't help but think that all it would take was one good wave. Then reading about those guys in the paper on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario sealed the deal for me. Well who am I kidding, the bloody thing went on sale. lol. Enjoy your new purchase, you are making the right decision as it is a very comfortable product.

I have one and I really like it. No neck scratching issues have arisen for me. It was a bit weird having it on when I first started wearing it as I did not wear any life jacket before. After about four or five trips in the boat you can hardly notice it's presence.
-
Beautiful fish. I have not made it down that way yet. I can`t wait.

Ah, I get ya now. I do not correct people's grammar in posts. I think that would be rude. This topic came up and I joined in. I do not feel that there is any excuse for belittling people. Edit: spelling. Lol

I do not feel that I put anyone down. I certainly did not intend to. If anyone could point out where I did, I would apologize for it immediately. I will go back and review my posts.
