  1. You can't even look at it without giving a name and email address. It's a scam again
  2. 10 cents to take your bike to centre island on the ferry I left that neck of the woods in 71 when I was 15 Never looked back
  3. Just in time for the snow eh Dave
  4. It's not even cold yet
  5. I don't remember all the prices back then but what I do remember is that money with my mom and dad having 5 kids was tight. I think the numbers have gotten bigger but we are better off now. When I got out of school in 79 I got a new truck for 6000.00 and made 12 bucks an hour. I have a better new truck now that cost a bigger number and I also make a bigger number. It's all good. Now I go political cliff. In 79 I filled my gas tank for 17 bucks and we elected joe Clark pc. Minority govt. he brought out a budget that raised the price to 24 bucks. All the babies kicked him out, called an election, elected Justin's dad a majority. Gas went back to 17 bucks a tank. Smiles everywhere. 9 months later it had creeped up to 26 bucks a tank and nobody said boo. The smiles covered it all. I can still go fishing any time I want to so life is good
  6. all depends on where you are Nothing wrong with long limits here. Moving is a pain Blocking a launch is rude though Lots of camping spots here are part of the launch but you still need to sorta leave access if it's the only spot
  7. My wood shop is shorts and T shirt in dead of winter..my wife keeps us freezing in the house but the shop is comfy
  8. Thats a construction heater The element gets red hot in them for a quick blast of heat. The elements burn out quick and take lots of power. You want a unit heater. About twice the price. The element only gets warm and cycles a lot but they don't use much power. I heated my 24x24 shop to 70F with one for 3 years and it worked great. but I never turned it down more that a few degrees at night. You set the temp you want and it will hold it there. They aren't built to take you from -20 up to 10 degrees but they will hold you at 5 constantly for a good price, as long as you are decently insulated http://www.homedepot.com/p/NewAir-17-060-BTU-5000-Watt-Electric-Garage-Heater-G73/205588544 There, the white one at $261.00
  9. It all depends on your budget. I have a 50,000 btu natural gas heater in my detached and keep it at 70 all winter. Costs very little to run (the place in insulated like a house)but the initial investment is a bit pricey. A 220 electric can be had for around $100 to $500. There are different types. My last place had a 30,000 btu that would hold any temp I wanted but wouldn't warm the place from dead cold but runs cheap, where a construction type heater will heat it up but be expensive to run.
  10. I don't know many 30 year olds that can keep up with me and I turned 60 last month I don't think much of a casting deck in a 12 footer A floor may be nice but not a deck
  11. Lemme guess...painting a Rat Rod?
  12. It was just too hot to keep the shoes on in the boat, even the hunting was pretty warm, but that's early season. Next weekend chickens will be open. Hopefully it cools off a bit this year
  13. The 2 on the paper are sure fat..they are walleyes right?
  14. Sweet deal..that looks like the remote in the bag attached to the shaft to me
  15. Got out for Goose opener Thursday. They weren't flying a bunch but we got a few they cooked just fine in the slow cooker Then Satuday we headed out for eyes..pretty slow fishing but managed a nice smallie end of the day got us a double header of walleyes about 22 inches After that, Sunday and Monday was about a thousand km of driving to get my son back to school
  16. If I put new tires on mine (same truck) I'm getting 18" rims...I don't like the 20's, too rough. And I have them Perrellis on now...never again
  17. I have maybe 3 or 4 packs of plastic stuff. Used it maybe 3 times in as long as I can remember . Different types of fishing I guess I do now have more than one rod in the boat though
  18. No matter what, people need to drink and they are going to get it from the cheapest supplier. Do you want to sell for market value or sit on your duff and say its worth more. Governments can only tax so much before they tax us out of the market. You guys got ummm Trudeau in there now to solve all these problems with the rest of the world..tell him to get at it
  19. Dutch The developers DO NOT PAY ANYTHING..in the end we pay it all, every penny Do you want the price of gravel to go up Do you want the price of a round of golf to go up Do you want the price of a glass of water to go up When it goes high enough, we will buy it from a country that doesn't charge as much, except we won't have any money to pay for it.
  20. Looks good. Gotta love when a job like that is done
  21. I hear a lot of discussion about the cost of bottled water here. The thing I see it that bottom line is, it's drinking water. Whether it comes from a tap or a bottle it gets drank. It will come from our clean water source no matter what. Why then should it be priced to the bottler any higher than we get it from the tap. Actually less because infrastructure doesn't deliver it . All we really need to stop bottled is an excessive tax on the bottles so we are encourager to fill a reusable bottle from the tap. Let's face it, bottled water is great for camping.
  22. Make it for Lake Superior and i'll be a happy camper/snowmobiler
  23. In the end the people pay it all. Companies don't pay they just pass the cost to the end user
  24. I guess people just like living together so it is what it is....but...something I really noticed flying over half the country last week... You see all these new subdivisions in the gta and every one has a school. They really stand out because of the running tracks each one has. Then there are the golf courses and sewage plants etc. For any given number of people you need the same number of chhools, hospitals. It's just a matter of you choose to live next to people and conveniences or close to outdoor activity possibilities. And people also drink water. Bottled or tap it still gets drank so if you put the price up for bottled you have to put the price up for tap as well. And for industry.
  25. 42.4percent of income goes to taxes now. How much more would you suggest Spread out a bit does not mean more infrastructure Every community now has its schools sewage. Food stores. They just need billions in highways to get away from each other Takes me almost 5 minutes to get to work or grocery shopping Why spend billions to get to an office tower in a polluted city
